"Joe,
My wife had heard that there has been an outbreak of influenza in the Maryland, Delaware area. It was said that the area hospitals are packed with kids who have it and they are now sending kids to Baltimore because the hospital rooms are filled. Have you heard anything about this?"
While it's difficult to get answers to a question like this, perhaps our readers can let us know if they have heard anything about it.
LOTS of kids sick at SU...don't know if it's the flu, but their Health Services put out an email a couple weeks ago that they were seeing a lot of cases.
ReplyDeletePRMC has their business plan to
ReplyDeletekeep all the rooms occupied for
any illness . It's all about the money. When they are full , they could care less where you go.
They are now up to 1 nurse per
floor , 6 CNA'S.(who don't have a clue)
Think thats bad.Try a local nursing home that at many times during the week/weekends they have one nurse few CNA's for over 40 patients and expect the nurse to fill out 1.5 paperwork before they punch out.Patient care has gone to hell.Dont anyone dare to report it to the state. The state advises them when they are coming for inspections and their is no shortages of nurses. Then the supervisor are on the floor. Its all about the money.
ReplyDeleteOur pediatrician's office was full yesterday.
ReplyDeleteOur kid went to a retreat at church over last weekend, and has been very sick ever since...seems someone sent their sick kid to be locked in with many others, and now they're all sick. Thanks.

All can say is if you get it DON'T TRUST A FART!
ReplyDeleteIt's not the flu...it's a Rhinovirus mutant that's going around. It has a lot of the same symptoms as the flu.

ReplyDeleteIsn't rhinovirus just the common cold? I know you said mutant of it, but still, I find it hard to believe that a virus would change so drastically to cause such vomiting. According to many sources, vomiting isn't even a symptom of rhinovirus. Perhaps you meant Norovirus (stomach bug)?
It happens every year. The flu kills thousands every year.
ReplyDeleteElem. Schools averaged 10-15 percent absentees this week. Usually in the single digits.
ReplyDeleteVomitting isn't a symptom of influenza. You all are confused.
ReplyDeleteWhat's rampant right now is a virus. Throwing up and diarrhea.
I came down with a sore throat a week after Christmas well that would have been New Years. I continued on my daily chores paying bills, grocery shopping then my throat started to bleed yikes never had that happen before. It was the weekend so I just thought that I would rest and feel better. The whole weekend I ran a 103 fever but being the wife and mom here I just kept going until Monday morning when I got up with a red rash on my body and a higher fever. Went to the doctors, I had strep throat which was confirmed with a culture and scarlet fever. Rest, antibiotics you know the drill. Two weeks later throat still was hurting went back to doctor the strain was immuned to the antibiotics so they put me onto ZPack for five day's. Still trying to recover from that lungs filled with yuck having a hard time breathing back to the doc's to find out I have pneumonia. I haven't been this ill in decades. Having a husband who is disabled and two son's I am way to busy to get sick. I don't have time to rest but I have learned that when one get's this ill you can't help but stop and rest the get up and go got up and went. In closing I hope I have helped with sharing this with you all. What I caught came to me by way of our youngest son visiting his friends in Northern VA. All I know is boy was I sick and still am one month later.
