A friend home was broken into in Salisbury today. While several items were stolen, two were of big concern, two guns. Here's where I need every one's help. We need to know all of the local locations of gun dealers that would purchase these weapons. With any luck the thief will have taken them to one of these dealers and can be identified. We're pretty sure who did it, now all we have to do is match him up with the buyer of the guns.
Check your pawn shops right away!
ReplyDeleteguns won't be sold to dealers, they'll be sold on the street to thugs. Sad to think you could be shot with your own weapon.
ReplyDeleteBy law, licensed pawn shops must keep a daily log of everyone selling merchandise to them, and those logs are routinely turned over to property crimes section of the criminal investigations bureau of the local departments. A bill is currently in Annapolis which would make it law that the pawn shops enter this information in a state wide data base that would be available to police departments throughout Maryland.
ReplyDeleteDaily checks of these logs is generally a routine exercise for most property crime detectives. But 10:39 is correct. Because weapons have serial numbers, they're generally sold for a quick buck on the street, or retained for future use, and not pawned.
Wish you the best of luck i had same thing happen a few years ago and 3 years later i got a phone call they had found one of my guns a shotgun sawed of in new york !!!! i could not belive it made it all the way there!
ReplyDeleteThey will be sold on the street; actually a dealer would pay less even if it was known to be not stolen. Try Smith St. area first.
ReplyDeleteOn second thought, you never said if they were long guns or pistols.
Can you describe the guns ?
ReplyDeleteMost gun shops do purchase guns ,
but they need to know what they should be looking for. Criminals
are fairly stupid and we never know what they will do with a gun , drugs can have an effect
on their stupid decisions.
Crime is down. There is no way this happened in Salisbury.
ReplyDeleteWonder if this was Penna's house, and if the burglars simply opened the back door?
ReplyDelete1 highpoint semi automatic 9mm assault rifle 16 1/2 in barrel
ReplyDelete1 Norinco 9mm semi automatic pistol
Both all black. SPD and pawn shops have been informed.
Damn got to go shopping today and call ADT. It's getting that bad.
Wish Dave's sportshop was still open, can someone tell me where I can get a nice 9mm pistol at a good deal? All I have right now is my flare gun off the boat, that would be terribly messy.
ReplyDeleteI'd like a 9mm Rugar
