The following is believed to correctly state information reported to Board of Elections in Comegy’s recent disclosure document regarding his donors to his campaign to become Salisbury’s bext mayor:
Gamee Elliott, Salisbury, $250.
Lynn Cathcart, Salisbury, $250.
Don Cathcart, Salisbury, $250.
Elizabeth Becker, Salisbury, $250.
Thomas Becker, Salisbury, $250.
Philip Tilghman, Salisbury, $250.
King Burnett, Salisbury, $100.
Gordon Gladden, Salisbury, $100.
Thomas J. Maloney, Salisbury, $250.
Regina McNeill, Nanticoke, $50.
Loretta Caccodrilli, Salisbury, $50.
Lana Jarrett, Salisbury, $250.
M.W. Tilghman Jr., Salisbury, $250.
Barrie Tilghman, Salisbury, $250.
F.M. Young, Salisbury, $200.
Robert Gladden, Salisbury, $35.
Gary Fretz, Salisbury, $100.
William Gore Sr., Salisbury, $50.
Raymond Weiss, Salisbury, $100.
Adam Becker, Salisbury, $250.
Kuhn's Jewelers, Salisbury, $250.
Don Richardson, Salisbury, $250.
Many of these persons should be known to many readers of this blog. A few of the lesser known:
King Burnett – law partner of the City attorney, Paul Wilber
Phillip Tilghman – former member of the Wicomico County Council; deeply involved in the PAC 14 reorganization scheme
T. J. Maloney – local attorney and rooming house landlord
M. W. Tilghman Jr. – Barrie Tilghman’s spouse
Robert Gladden – former member of City Council who at that time was a rental landlord and helped block rental regulation sponsored by Bob Caldwell and others.
This data indicates that much of Comegys’ funds are from large dollar donors with vested interests – the average donation is almost $200, and most are at the legal maximum amount.
By contrast, Bob Caldwell reported 11 donations that total $875, or an average of about $80 each; Jim Ireton had by for the most donors (100) and has reported that the average one is about $64, for a total of more than $7,000.
Both Ireton and Comegys have spent much more than Caldwell.
Mike Della Penna says his contributions total about $50.

It says what it says.
ReplyDeleteLana Jarrett, Salisbury, $250.
ReplyDeleteGirlfriend and property manager for slumlord T.J. Maloney.
2 more officers at SPD are gone. thats 3 in almost a month.
ReplyDeleteIn the primary we can stop Comegys cold by casting both of our votes - for both Caldwell and Ireton.
ReplyDeleteIt's time for the curtain to come down on the Barrie Tilghman regime that is a front for landlords and developers!
RED NET ALERT
ReplyDeleteJoe,
Just a quick note to let you know that I started my day off this morning with a cup of coffee and decided to read the local news. Low and behold to my surprise I went to the website and up popped this alert stating the site was blocked. I thought it might have been a mistake so I went to 2 of my coworkers computers and it also said Access Denied, Website blocked. I then went to the Daily Rags website and it was not blocked at all. After all this time they decided to block your news site. I guess they didn't want to upset the upcoming election for Bubba Comagees.

A Disappointed City Employee
Attention people living in the Camden and Clairmont neighborhoods: this list alone should convince you that Comegys does NOT have your best interests in mind. He will say he does (and lately he has been making a big show of protecting the Clairmont neighborhood), but in the end there is a reason the landlords support him overwhelmingly--and not just any landlords, the really bad ones. When that elderly neighbor two houses down passes away, the house goes up for sale, and TJ Maloney or Richard Insley buys it, who do you want to be in charge of regulating it? If Comegys is in charge, the person given the task of deciding whether the landlord wins or you win is Richard Insley. Anyone in Camden or Clairmont who votes for Comegys better be prepared to see your neighborhood go rental in the next two years.
ReplyDeleteCan someone be kind enough to tell us who all the donors are to Comagys and what their claim to fame or connection is?
ReplyDeleteJoe:
ReplyDeleteGREAT POST
PS- Bye-Bye Bubba & Barrie (good riddance)!

What happened to these officers and who are they?
"Mike Della Penna says his contributions total about $50."
ReplyDeleteNo offense Mike, this isn't going to cut it. Be a man, drop out and give your support to Ireton or Caldwell. I am confident they would support you in the next election to unseat Comegys' for his District 2 Council Seat. Please take this sincere advice and move forward with it.
Mike:
ReplyDeleteIf you decide to give it up, please ask your folks to cast both votes -- for Bob and Jim -- so we can be done with Bubba ASAP!
Thanks
PS -- I like your straight talk; please consider running for the City Council in 2011 if you haven't
had enough of Salisbury by then.
12:06 - do you happen to know which 2 officers have recently left?
ReplyDelete12:30-
ReplyDeleteWhat rock have you been under for the past 10 years?
12:30,
ReplyDeleteSomeone explained this in the omments on an earlier post. Basically, the vast majority of Comegys supporters are the big landlords in town. Then there's the mayor's family, and a guy who is partner to the current city attorney. That is really it! Compare to Ireton's list, which is much longer and has a real cross representation of people. Although your finincial supporters don't say everything about a candidate, in this case it is so stark a contrast that it is easy to see who you should consider voting for. Ireton is the guy unless you are a wealthy, unscupulous landlord (in my humble opinion).
2:20-
ReplyDeleteThe primary election next week is a chance to stop Comegys & cronies (Insley, etc.) that should be seized by casting both of your votes -- for Jim and Bob Caldwell, too. So far Bubba's buddies have not gotten their tenants worked up, but it won't be that way if Comegys is in the general election (in other words if he gets thru the primary).
NOW IS THE TIME FOR ALL GOOD MEN (AND WOMEN) TO COME TO THE AID OF THEIR CITY!
I know Bubba's co-workers at SHA are glad to see his lazy butt go ahead and retire.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure most city employees will be glad to see him get dropped in the primaries. He's simply a Cave Man. Isn't that what he called some citizens? CAVE people? See Gary, unlike you we don't forget the details.
Gamee Elliot ?? Does StateFarm specialize in rental policies? I'm going to look for another agent when my car insurace comes due this Spring.
ReplyDeleteQuestion For Comegys Tonight:
ReplyDeleteIf we had that fire boat would you serve as the Capt. and sing this song:
I grew so rich that I was sent
By a pocket borough into Parliament.
I always voted at my party's call,
And I never thought of thinking for myself at all.
I thought so little, they rewarded me
by making me the Ruler of the Queen's Navee!
PS - that's Gilbert & Sullivan, HMS Pinafore, Bubba, and it fits you to a "T"
Joe:
ReplyDeleteHow about asking Comegys' illustrious contributors if they know about his contempt citation for failure to pay child support.
He's a class act -- NOT
Wow between the three of them the Beckers have donated 750.00. Could they be lobbying for their Architecture company for some more city business? Funny how Becker /Morgan is in the same building as G.N.I. Properties.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to the officers? Joe,,come on whats the deal? Salisbury needs officers or deputies. The crime is through the roof man! I will move away!

Do not speak for either candidate in this regard.
Mr. Della Penna is obviously not a viable candidate for anything. A nice man. A good neighbor. Sure. Council member, mayor? Not. I'd never pick him over Terry Cohen.
But I'd vote for him over Gary Comegys or Louise Smith. Hopefully, we'll have more to choose from than that by then.
Tom Becker...yeah, Gary's treasurer.
ReplyDeleteOf Becker Morgan architect firm.
Tom Becker, also the guy who was a driving force behind those ugly a$$ condos on the river.
JimmY my Buddy! Let me hold twenty dollars? LoL
ReplyDeleteThe Cathcart couple sent out letters to their neighbors about why we should vote for Comegys. It is currently in my trash can.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened at the forum tonight?

We are trying to have a very productive thread going on here to educate the voter about the slime that is supporting Bubba Comagees and this idiot throws a wrench in it by attacking a potential voter. Thanks for nothing you loser.

Then why don't you take it out of your trash and let Joe post it on here for all of us to see.
Amen. I'd like to see what the Cathcarts had to say in support of Bubba also.
ReplyDeletei would like to see it to!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCathcart was an officer for her neighborhood association, they didn't like her then, and nothing has changed. She quit that too.
ReplyDeleteI would have put return to sender on it and send it back to the whench
