Americans Are Arming Themselves -- Why?

In case you have not noticed… Americans are arming themselves. Sales of those rifles the liberals like to refer to as “assault rifles” are so brisk, nationwide, that they are back-ordered for weeks and, in some cases, even months…

(In the event you are unfamiliar with the term “Assault Rifle"… the common definition, by liberals and “gun-grabbers” of an assault rifle, is… a rifle that One: Looks scary” and Two: Holds more than five rounds!)

Two Sentz should also take a look at this. Read more HERE.

  2. Problem with many of you is you aren't "old-school" enough. True happiness is a scuffed Maglite from the nightstand {cost to replace-$20 but cha' gotta' bring your own D cell batt-tries}; plus it doesn't get you a life sentence for running afoul of the Feds. That high velocity ammo is just going to miss/go right through your target and pierce three neighboring double wides and kill some innocent guy a quarter mile away with a righteous mullet practicing his karaoke version of "Achy Breaky Workers Comp Pelvis" anyway.

  3. The American right to keep and bear arms is in jeopardy. It is the last obstacle standing in the way of the government from taking all other rights. It happened in Russia in the early 1900's and it's happening here. At what point will we make a stand? How far are we willing to let them go? will we let all that our founding fathers fought for be laid to waste? As we are mired in economic hardship the government will offer to save us. Hidden in this salvation is what they consider a small concession - giving up our rights. We can't let that happen.

  7. oh yeah real great, first i dont have enough to pay my mortgage, then I got to find some money to hurry and buy a gun so that I dont get caught with my pants down....

What a crock ! Will some of you guys who are still working and clearing enough be sure to buy two or three guns so that you can arm those of us who are with you but cant afford to be armmed ? It would only be a loner until freedom is won back ok ? :)

  8. This was a very interesting read. I really don't think the majority of firearms being bought are due to fears of second amendment rights being taken away. The article also suggests that people may be arming themselves to defend against our own troops in times of civil unrest. I really don't see this as a threat. An interesting stat would be the number of NEW gun owners. I would almost bet that most purchases of guns are made by people who already own guns.
As owner of several guns, I can assure you that stocking rounds is a very good idea. If ammo becomes to hard to get that is the worse possible scenario for gun owners. Guns are and will be easier to get than ammo.

  11. I bought my AR's in the past three years for this very reason. Hunting bolt action guns are too slow in a civil unrest situation. Most shgotguns in sporting configuration are too slow and do not hold enough ammo. Assault rifles rule in TEOTWAWKI.

  12. It is obvious we have to defend ourselves. Our rights are being infringed upon and the gitmo crowd are getting them.
We could generate some jobs with defense plants but hey, it might cut into the money we need to give free health care to illegals.
It is not politically correct to call it a war on terror anymore. when did we or WHO surrendered.

And then you have the crime rate, for all of us not living inside Salisbury, you better be prepared to protect your family because the judicial system is not deterring criminals.

  13. Reese-LOL-you know my home defense for window peepers-cigarette lighter, hairspray and a Ping 9 iron.Distract em with the fire, and FORE.Theres nothing wrong with firearms but I strongly believe people should be familiar with guns before they actually buy one.
I would guess people are arming themselves because they are scared.Look at some of the criminals walking the streets.A guy can expose himself to a woman, rob her and get no jail time! Its especially frightening to be a single female these days and I am willing to bet alot of these new gun owners are women. And Remington does make a SWEET hot-pink shotgun.......so chicks are definitely getting armed!

  14. It is not due to the threat or worry of stricter gun control that sales have gone through the roof for guns and ammo. It is in preperation of the coming revolution against the socialist form of government which is being shoved down the throats of freedom loving Americans.
Was not "the right to bear arms" put into the constitution in order for the people to protect themselves from a corrupt government. Take this right away and we are no longer a free people but become subjects of the ruling body.

  15. The "Change" is coming ladies and gentlemen.

If I were you, I'd buy shotguns first and AR15's later.

Ammo is the key. That is why the Dems want to pass legislation that will mark all new ammo with codes so they can track it.

They will also be demanding we destroy all of the unmarked stuff we already have.

    Think I'm kidding?? Google it.

    8:15

Don't worry, when the time comes, we'll have about 60 million weapons.

I'm sure someone will let you borrow one.

My forefathers fought and died fighting for a free republic.

I will not let their sacrifice be in vain.

  16. I bought my assault rifle a couple days after 9/11, maybe a little over the top however I know I like the rifle for it's acuaracy and traget practicing.

The assault rifle and my semi-automatic pistol both use 9mm rounds so that is good. Next I think I would like a Rugar sidearm.

Then again a 45 caliber pistol can be loaded with 410 shotgun shells, a real crowd disburser.

  19. There is a local gun dealer in the salisbury area . This individual has told me that it is 50/50 on
    the reason for purchase. 2nd
amendment and fear. As it stands now , it's about 18 months waiting
list. However , there are some rifles that are available in a few days , these rifles look and perform similar to the m15 , m16
and others. I believe they will be gone in the next week or two.
I have many guns and mine were
purchased for hunting , but not anymore . I have taken the advice and purchased many rounds of ammo . It even scares me!
I was in the Walmart on the North
side and a lady just finished purchasing about $5,000 worth
of assorted ammo. Don't tell me
    this is for hunting.

    Exactly!

I would add: the coming food crisis and loss of our currency. The problems in this Nation are orchestrated, not accidental. We are an extremely advanced Nation with tremendously educated and intelligent people. We don't have accidents of the proportion being described to us in the media.

Think about these accidents / mistakes: lack of protection during 911, lack of investigative powers after 911, inability to find Osama Bin Laden, lack of good intelligence in Iraq, inability to control the poppie production in Afghanistan, inability to control the Taliban (who refused to build an oil pipeline, but who were very successful at curbing the poppie production), unwillingness to negotiate with enemies, inability to relieve the suffering, hunger and thirst of an entire city after Hurricane Katrina, inability to stop illegal entry into our Country, inability to forsee and prevent the creation of mortgage securities and collateralized debt obligations on Wall Street, inability to oversee the leveraging of large banks up to 300% (but the ability to find a $100 error on my income tax return), inability to realize mercury is bad for our children and doesn't belong in vaccines, inability to provide safe drinking water in our homes (although it was safe 50 years ago), inability to protect the citizens without trampling upon the Bill of Rights and without torturing people who have been proven to have done nothing wrong!, inability to prosecute the CRIME of 911 in our courts, inability to protect our soldiers with armor vehicles, inability to realize that depleted uranium is bad for EVERYONE - including our soldiers, inability to prevent the death of 1 million citizens in Iraq (who did nothing to us at all) and we refer to that as a liberation!.

Finally, we have an inability to realize the people who control our government are NOT STUPID, and DO NOT MAKE MISTAKES, but rather are wicked, war-profiteering, lying, filthy degenerates who control the media, public education, and the seminaries of this once great Nation.

  21. Reese Bobby, you are obviously ignerent to fire arms and the second amendment. Features of an "Assault rifle" are for the most part cosmetic. As for your flash light theory good luck if someone comes into your home with a gun, I'll take my hand gun over your flash any day. You are exactly the type of person that the CFR is hoping for. IF you don't know what that is researh the Council for Foreign Relations and their agenda. Educate yourself. You are a prime example of the dumification of America.

  22. Reese Bobby,

This is a new one on me. Many burglars are armed. They are felons for God's sake. How could you possibly know if they are carrying a gun at 3:00 a.m. when they break into your house? Would you be one of the fools who would take a knife to a gunfight? I'm assuming so if you'd take a flashlight to a gunfight! Just remember - I'd rather be tried by twelve than carried by six. This is the mindset you're taught in public school when you are forced to keep your hands down while the school bully punches you in the face repeatedly, or be suspended for defending yourdelf by fighting back.

  23. Joe, I read the whole article. The only part I disagree with is this statement:

"A left-leaning, easily excited MsM, which would support the abolishment of the 2nd Amendment in a heartbeat."

And it seems they are inferring all liberals want this which is totally untrue. I think that statement is pure opinion and something conservatives say to incite fear in their party and to demonize their fellow American who belong to a different party.

On the other hand, I have plenty of in-laws with massive amounts of weapons and military/special ops experience. I ain't a-feard of nuttin'.

7:31 makes some good points and you almost have to wonder if the gov't isn't creating this fear on purpose. Maybe they want to incite a revolt in order to have a reason to assume military control?

But of the two main "reasons" for the supposed "arming", it must be the "socialist" excuse (yes, excuse...a word pushed by the right leaning MSM, a word you didn't even hear until about July of '08) because I don't see the 2nd amendment going away, nor should it. I can't believe people think that is actually possible but what do I know? There are a lot of paranoid people out there who believe just about anything.

But hey, at least one part of the economy is doing well!

  24. Wow! I've never seen a bigger bunch of chicken littles who were a little chicken.

With guns as a major health hazard, you're just shooting yourselves in the foot. With the economy on the ropes, you're just spending yourself into the poor house. Is there any wonder why rank "conservatives" are becoming more and more irrelevant? You used to make sense.

    Buy more guns... HA!!
