Webster, Tilghman & Daily Times Claims Crime Is Down

I was just reading an article from the Washington Post where the title says, "Montgomery Faces 7.7% Increase in Major Crime." I'll not go into all the details but clearly it states that the increase is due to the harsh economy.

While the Mayor of Salisbury and Councilman Comegys enjoy comparing Salisbury to Montgomery County on a regular basis, isn't it interesting how they claim OUR major crime is down 7 percent?

Look, I'm not saying we shouldn't be pleased with an alleged drop in crime, because we should. However, it's an election year and while the Washington Post may not like the people on the County Council, I can see where this whole thing comes out to be a simple game by the MSM.

One Paper likes certain Candidates, (Daily Times = Mayor Tilghman = Colmegys) so they're fed information from the Police Department and they go ahead and print it because you know what, they can. They simply printed what they were delivered. Happens all the time with that Newspaper.

Crime is up across America because of our economy and the Global Economy. But you just keep drinking that Daily Times Cool Aid and believe everything they say. I'm not stupid, I cancelled my subscription. I'm not buying their paper any more and I'm not buying their BS any more.

  1. Here's a simple fact -- when crime has soared like it has in Salisbury in the past 5-10 years (under Barrie Tilghman and more recently Comegys and the puppets) it is not significant or unusual that in a perticular year it is slightly lower in terms of the "data" -- even if that isn't suspect.

We are still at the top of the list in "per capita" terms.

  2. Maybe Barrie and Bubba should discuss how the City's property taxes and sewer and water rates are increasing -- in comparison to other places. We are "the leader of the pack."

  3. Go here and take a look at what the subcommittee led by Debbie Campbell was able to get (for free by the way) so that the citizens of Salisbury can be aware of what is going on relative to crime

  5. What do you gain from lying ?? No matter what you are told , statistics show Salisbury has a high crime rate per capita. It's time Mr Webster take a hike and allow someone who is really interested in Salisbury take over the reigns.

  6. Joe & 10:53 commentator --

That "spotcrime" website is really something.

Thank goodness we have Ms. Campbell on the City Council. We need to reelect her and replace Shields in the election next year, as well as keeping Comegys out of the mayor's office -- I'm still hoping Bob Caldwell will run for that office.

  8. If Ireton is elected I don't really think he is going to do much better than the current administration. I think he is more talk than anything.
We need somebody who dosn't care about the status quo. Mr. Albero would you consider running?

  9. Crime has not decreased!!... the only thing that HAS decreased is the police and city administration's interest in DEALING with the crime. On another note, the incidence of parking tickets issued by the SPD have dramatically increased.

  10. I am not a resident of Salisbury. However, IF I was, you better believe I'd be running and I'd win. Some of the Anti Albero Bloggers want to link several people tied with Joe Albero. Guess what, I'm more experienced in running a major business than any of the Candidates running for Office. I don't need the money, so no one can influence me in any way and I'd cut more corners than these spend, spend, spend Candidates so fat.

Some say I'm tighter than a Ducks butt and that's waterproof.

Bob Caldwell will get your vote for mayor (if he runs), I hope. He would get mine for sure!

  13. good grief. we read about the crime here on this blog on a daily basis. just because the daily rag doesn't print it doesn't mean it isn't happening. you need not read to find out about it. go outside, listen and talk to others. IT'S REALLY BAAAAAD!
