A Warning To ALL Local Drivers

"The Guidance Counselor I work with just told me the following this morning that happened to his wife yesterday at the Kmart light and today at the ATM on Nanticoke and RR 50.

She was on RR 50 at the Kmart light yesterday morning, (she works at Salisbury School) and was looking at something in the car when her daughter asked Mommy "who is that." A man with a blanket over his head bent down to open the front passenger door and she then hit the auto lock button to lock the doors. He then veered off on another path.

Then, today she was at the ATM, PNC Bank at Nanticoke and RR 50 and after she received her money, a man got between her car and the machine and asked her for some money.

With the weather so cold, it's a scary time. Please be careful and stay alert."

  1. I can't wait for the day when someone does that to me. They will be staring down the barrell of a .45. I could only be so lucky.

  2. Oh, so you you keep a loaded .45 in the car with you, on the pocket of your door? Come On Man!

  5. Bravo for you 11:57am
    I believe everyone should be
carrying a gun . It would decrease
the crime rate , help the law enforcement officers and decrease
    our jail populations. Only the
strong will survive these next few years!

I admire the thought, but a word to the wise: anything that anyone puts on the internet is not truly anonymous to authorities.
Don't write on a blog or anywhere what you would be lucky to do to the criminal piece of scum.
If the occasion did ever arise for you to be in a position to defend yourself, some power hungry D.A. with no respect for justice or public safety would use your printed words to paint you as a vigilante who pre-meditated an attack on an "unfortunate, misguided youth" or "needy person with a drug problem." Rememer what the "justice system" did to the heroic Bernie Goetz for defending himself and helping rid New York of vermin.

  8. There is no need to carry guns in cars unless you WANT to get out and use it. Otherwise, stay in your locked car and drive away. If they get in your way to try to stop you, guess what, you have a 1 ton weapon in your hands that is directed by one thing... the gas pedal. Probably won't kill the guy, but I bet he won't be trying this maneuver anytime soon.

  9. This is where we need an officer, maybe our sheriff, to refresh us on what the law currently stands as far as self defense, even more so with defending our homes. With the current trend of ever increasing violent crime, it's extremely important. Last I knew, from years ago...so it's veague. When someone breaks into your home...your only allowed to use "reasonable force" to protect yourself and family. It was explained to me this means....if an intruder breaks into your home while your there, and he has a baseball bat, you the homeowner would only be able to use a bat or similar to defend yourself, only after exhausting any means of escape first. I've always wondered how true this was, and if so, does it still stand today?

  17. That's why I tell my wife to only use the drive-up ATMs at the bank (like M&T by wal-mart) or the ones in Wawa etc. No fees, and no one hasslin' or robbing you.

We men might be able to handle ourselves in these situations, but get the word out to wives, daughters, sisters, girlfriends, etc. to ONLY use the safe ATMs mentioned above.

  18. A small carpenter's hammer is all you need. It won't carry the legal consequences of carrying & using a firearm. If some degenerate bent on harming or robbing you tries to stick his head in the door or window of your car, a sharp, solid hit to the forehead with the cold, hard steel of the hammer head WILL drop the piece of crap in his tracks! This will give you the opportunity to call for police help. If the perp starts to move, simply use the hammer to render him harmless again. If he should happen to die, I don't think a jury
in the land would find that using a hammer on someone trying to enter your vehicle would be using excessive force. Every driver should have a hammer on the seat beside him or her!
