lol that comic is so true its amazing how fast people of all religions will demand respect, from someone that stands up to them but they don't feel that they have to give any in return.
The funny thing is that almost all mainstream religions have the same basic principle of treat others the same way you expect to be treated, how quickly that's forgotten if the person doesn't believe the same as them.
Actually, most people of religion ARE respectful of others. I know a lot of religious people and have't ever seen one call someone else these names that are in this comic. This author of this comic and these comments are missing the beauty of the forest due to a few ugly trees. These people are the ones really missing out. How sad. I feel sorry for them while having the utmost respect for their absolute right to miss out.
Obviously the person before me does not understand political cartoons. They are purposely exaggerated to get the point across. No, religious folks aren't going around beating atheists in the head with a cross and calling them names, but that doesn't mean that there aren't situations where religious people are disrespectful to atheists.
Atheists don't want or need your pity. We live full, wonderful, rational lives, free of dogma.
Nice try you the Atheist's are the one's constantly attacking actually just Christianity makes you wonder who's really behind it. Let's see the Atheist's and PETA the environmentalist's , femma-Nazi's and the Global warming kook's all Democrats !
Anon 3:18, people who use the term "femma-Nazi's" as you did, or femi-Nazi demonstrate their ignorance. The Nazis were completely against feminism. Plus, an apostrophe "s" as you have used it denotes the possessive. I understand that people are trying to express an extreme form of feminism when they use the term you did, but it doesn't work, it doesn't make sense and it's offensive to the extreme feminists who are not Nazis and have nothing in common with them.

Actually they probably understand more than you think. Look at all the comments saying: "How True" while you let them off by using the "exaggeration to make a point" excuse. The press, liberals and atheists are allowed and even encouraged to exaggerate to attack Christians but if a Christian even begins to exaggerate, they are attacked mercilessly.
Religious people have great difficulty in seeing their offenses toward atheists. In addition to superstitious beliefs;
Religious people believe that piety begets virtue. Religious people believe that morality comes from religion. Religious people believe that promoting their religion is a valid defense and a valid expression of their religion.
All of these are blatantly false, but try getting a Christian to understand the difference between the domain of philosophy and the domain of religion... And therein lies the true threat of Christianity to America.
We fear that religious Christians will do to America what the Taliban has done to Afghanistan. That's why the term "American Taliban" seems to be so apt in describing such behavior.
9:43 How many dinners did the atheists serve to the homless in Salisbury on Thanksgiving? How many meals do the atheists serve to the homless in Salisbury (or anywhere) every month? How many Atheists spend the night at the area homeless shelters helping out? I can provide staggering numbers from just a fraction of the groups that do these things in this area through their churches. For instance, Salisbury Urban Ministries served over 200 Thanksgiving dinners, provided about 600 bags of food in November alone. This is but one small organization. But I think I understand your point, Christians are heartless, cruel people that kill atheists?

I'm religious and I don't believe these things, nor do the religious people I know. Why don't you educate yourself before you embarrass yourself further?
Hitler,Stalin and Pol pot all Atheists but they never killed anybody give me a break. What other group is sheltering and feeding the homeless around the world.
hmm not funny. But I wont behead you for it

Very true.
ReplyDeleteSo true - and sad.
ReplyDeleteMy atheist friends will forgive me for this one, but...
ReplyDeleteAMEN.
I believe in God with all my heart, but I have friends who do not and who are much better people than many claiming to be "good Christians."

Yeah, 4:31...
ReplyDeleteBut nobody ever died for not being an atheist. No atheist ever killed people in a crusade to make others atheists.
9:43
ReplyDeleteAnd nobody tryed to write a general "norm" on how one should treat his fellow man ,the ten commandments, for being a atheist either. Heathens.

I wonder what the reaction would be if the cartoonist had the religious character beating the athiest with a muslim crescent?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the fur would fly!
