The Placement Of Candidate Signs In Question
I had received numerous calls as to the questionable placement of Mayoral Candidate Signs for Gary Comegys so I thought I'd take a ride to where people were concerned most.
One major area was Beaglin Park Road or the new Northeast Collector Road. Clearly there were signs just about everywhere along the bike path and not far off the road actually. I would have to guess that this is City property and probably not too ethical.
Then there's one that flat out disturbed me to no end. Remember that retaining wall I complained so much about. You know, the one where the City is footing the bill to build back a retaining wall that the property owner took down and the land isn't owned by the City. Nevertheless, they approved that spending and I believe I even said back when I posted the article about it that we'd wait and see who's Campaign Signs would end up there after this vote.
Well, there you have it Folks, right on Isabella Street. NO, I am not attacking Mr. Comegys. He may not even know these signs are placed where they are and this may be completely legitimate. Let the comments begin.
Well, if you won't go after Comegys, allow me. To pretend that he doesn't know where his own signs are would be ridiculous--he knows where they are and does not care. When will everyone learn that the rules don't apply to Comegys? He can do whatever he wants, as long as he toes the line for special interests in this town.
ReplyDeleteJoe, thank you for bringing this to our attention. It goes to show you how desperate this candidate and his camp is to get elected.
ReplyDeleteIt shows what kind of crook this guy is taking advantage of his position with the state, city council and the planning and zoning commission. What he is doing is very unethical and possibly illegal.
I challenge the code officials with the city, state, and county to pick up these illegal signs. I also challenge the good citizens of this city and county to pick up this trash and dispose of it properly.
Do you think the cities code compliance office has the guts to pick up these signs?
THere is one at the corner of Rt 13 and Main Street, at Jimmy's Grill.
ReplyDeleteComegys will (and did, and does) push the envelope of legal and moral. The man needs a moral GPS, not that he'd use it.
ReplyDeleteCan someone tell me what he does for the roads and Highway divison? I mean I have heard of Comp-time but I travel thru the Glam section of Mayorville everyday almost....and his truck is either in the front yard or park in the cemetary behind his home.....Well if he doesnt use the vehicle for official purposes Why should he have it....give it to someone who could use it to truly do there job....BWT I did call and they told me that it was "confidental information" to what 007 Comegy does.....Watch out he may be packing a Walther ppk...
ReplyDeleteI may be wrong, and please correct me if I am, but I believe the section of Beaglin Park Dr. you are talking about is not in city limits. The city limits for Salisbury begin around Wicomico Day School on Old Ocean City Road. Are the rules that you can't post signs on city property?
ReplyDeleteHaving worked several campaigns, it is illegal to place a campaign sign on publicly owned property. I guarantee Gary knows about this, he just has no regard for the rules, just like his predecessor.

So, has this been reported to the Elections Board?
ReplyDeleteI say just rip the signs out. Any time you see any political sign pull it up. What's the worse they can do?
ReplyDeleteJoe:
ReplyDeleteBubba's having a Super Bowl party for his supporters. It's at the waste water treatment plant and the drinks and snacks are on the house!
Come as you are and eat in your car.

ReplyDeleteShanie shor two bee dere!
Did you see that Dixieland Flag Tie Gary was wearing Monday night? He might as well have worn a sheet and a KKK outfit. Shanie supports her boss wearing a tie that promotes keeping the black people down.
ReplyDeleteWell after he and Louise lied to the policemen and firemen about raises, I wouldn't trust him as far as I can throw his lard butt. IMHO Mom always told me that liars will also steak[
ReplyDeleteFor every sign ANY of you candidates are inclined to put up {to further decrease visibility for road safety and/or asthetic property values}; INSTEAD spend your money buying a jersey for a kid in a local church/civic basketball team/Little League team. Those signs make me want to "act out" no matter what party is wasting their money/time to further clutter my visual landscape!!!!! Mongo upset!!!
ReplyDeleteComplaints would need to go to the city election board and county election board.
ReplyDeletePublic right of ways are not to be used for signs, whether city, county, state or Fed.
I saw three of this guy's signs on Main Street in Salisbury coming up on where Main St. meets Mt. Herman Rd.
ReplyDeleteI don't live in Salisbury, so the election is not as important to me, but this guy is really trying hard. Usually NOT a good sign, no punn intended. LOL
NEWSFLASH Kratovil Exxon has sold out. It is now Comegys Exxon.

LMAO, I saw it as well and was going to call it Bubba's Exxon.
Gordo is desperate to be the next fire chief.
I have seen a lot of bubba fo mare signs place out this weekend, but one thing to keep in mind.... Signs don't vote. Most of these signs are put up in public right of ways and they are illegal. Neighborhood Services and Code Compliance need to do their jobs and pick up this trash by tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHere is an idea. We all know that Gary Comegys is in bed with the crooked members of the Chamber of Commerce and SAPOA. With that in mind I challenge everyone to keep a running list of the businesses that put out Gary Comagys signs and we all should boycott that business. Joe, how about keeping a running list of those businesses if you could find the time in your busy schedule. You can put it right up there with the Dinglebarrie Countdown.
ReplyDeletethe first sign is, imo, perfectly placed.
ReplyDeleteCitizens, do the right thing. When you see trash that isn't supposed to be in public places pick it up and throw it away.
ReplyDeleteThere is a house on the corner of North Division street and Isabella where Gary has a sign, a Katovil sign is still up there too
