  11. Welcome to the United Socialist States of America.

  12. 12:34 - look, I voted for Senator McCain. I consider myself a conservative republican but above and beyond all that is I am an AMERICAN and damn proud of it and no matter WHO the president is, I am going to support him/her. I may not agree with their policy decisions but they have been elected by the most envied, most emulated system in the world and deserve our support, if for nothing else, for the process by which they came to power. Get involved with the issues instead of bellyaching and whining.

  13. Did I miss Obama being sworn in on TV.....all I saw was Biden, I have right here watching the whole thing.....

  14. I hope all your negative people leave this great country. Your views are not wanted here.

  15. Excellent inaguration ceremony.

Its too bad they did not have a teleprompter for our new president as he was being sworn in, he forgot to add the words "to the best of my ability" when taking the oath of office.

I am so impressed that I am going to switch to Newports to be just like our new president.

Do you think they will be teaching the the children about his brand of cigarrettes?

  16. Well, liberal tree hugers are welcome good luck pansies

  17. Just checked by bank account, it has been tapped by someone with the following initials B.O., anyone know who that is?

  18. 12:44 has started the talk already. Sounds like you would like the cleaning to begin.

I thought this country was great because you could have your own view.

  19. All I can say is that there are a lot of idiots out there. I hope they freeze out there today.

  21. Look at all of this negativity...we are a united group of people folks! Regardless of who won the election, we have to proceed as a Country - Remember "divided we fall"? Every four years there is a winner and a loser-we can chose to support our leader and try to rebuild our economy together or we can point fingers and blame a single person/party for the next four years and go nowhere. Nobody, including McCain, Bush, Obama, Hilary, Biden or Palin, is going to be perfect for the current job but we have to give those people willing to try a fighting chance. We can scream "socialist", "robber", "BARF", etc. or we can wait to see if those premonitions come true. You nay sayers out there should be ashamed to call yourselves Americans...Be proud of your Country and support those who are at least making an effort to drag us out of the problems we are currently facing.

One another note, I have not been able to watch the events of the day, does anybody know an attendance number on Capital Hill today?

  22. Comegys' campaign slogan:

  25. And comments such as "I am so impressed that I am going to switch to Newports to be just like our new president." by 'If you can't fight SWITCH' should not be tolerated here, or anywhere for that matter! Welcome to the 21st century racist a$$hole, now go back to your white trash mobile home park and beat your wife...

(Joe, I will recant my a$$hole if it does not meet your swearing creditials-I just thought that it was the most proper use for this person's behavior)

  26. Dave, Fox News is reporting 2 million people on the mall and surrounding areas. Over 800,000 used the Metro system.

You people that are living in a state of fear need to get over it. He is the POTUS for at least the next 4 years. Give the man a chance before you dig your foxholes.

  27. 12:44 & all Obamamamas:

That's right -- vilify anyone who dares to object or disagree with the Messiah. You're disgusting and should be leaving the country that you would probably not defend if needed.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Why am I not surprised at the ignorance displayed by most of these commenters?

Do worry, the counrty can and will carry on without you. America never was a place for do-nothing complainers. Please stay in your bunkers and leave the real work to the grown-ups.

  31. I finally realize why everyone is so scared. You people are not racists. You are living in fear of what is to come. You fear that now you might be treated as you have treated people. You live in fear of what your ancestors have done or may have done to others is coming back to haunt you. None of you have had to live in fear for your lives, unless you fought in any of our wars with the military. None of you have had to fight for anything in your lives. I'm not saying it was handed to you, I am saying you got it a lot easier than anyone of any color other than white. It's not your fault, this has been instilled in you. Change your way of thinking. The only place color has is in a Crayola box.

  32. 1:40

Get a life. I didn't cause slavery, I didn't own any, my grandfather didn't own any, and you sure can't blame white poeple for the fact that blacks were sold by their own kind. White people did not steal them and bring them back here, YES they were sold. And that was a sign of those times. You can't bring up things that didn't happen to "us" Those of us who are against all of this are bringing up current issues and concerns going forward. You want to go back to slavery, that is crazy. Having blacks sit in the back of the bus wasn't my/our fault. Guess what, look on any bus now and see who is in the back, blacks, not because they are made to. They do it because thats where the cool people sit. That again is the sign of these times. We didn't create slavery and the things that happened years ago, they were simply the sings of the times. Stop trying to hold us current white folks accountable for that.I don't believe anyone should do anything against their will, up to and including working for a living. But that doesn't mean that my efforts have to supprt them and I don't care what color you are!

    ReplyDelete
  33. C'mon people....we are ALL Americans. It's time to start acting that way. Grow up.
If you can't support whoever is President, then take your belongings and move somewhere else.
I say that because you're acting like little children who when they don't win they "take their toys and go home".

  34. Ok its been two hours!

I have been waiting two hours for change. It like watching paint dry.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thank God we have a smart president. And thank God you negative people are in the minority now.

    ReplyDelete
  36. 1:40 pm-What?
Maybe I should go back in time and tell my Irish ancestors that they "had it easier".No one race holds the patent on suffering.Slavery,Jim Crow-all that is over with and its time to get over it and move past it.If you truly feel that only black and biracial persons have to "claw their way to the top" and fight for what they have then the problem is not Whitey or this blog,it is you.

    ReplyDelete
  37. good job BLU,

Its also not our fault that two different races joined ventures to make "Born Biracial" of which one of those races is deemed inferior to most or the other

    ReplyDelete
  38. Looks like the World comes closer today... except for the Eastern Shore!

    ReplyDelete
  39. The way I see it, you can either participate in government- support a cause, advocate for what you believe in, or you can sit back and complain. Guess which one is more effective???

I must say that I have to agree with the sentiments of 12:40 and Dave C. I only watched a bit of the ceremony because I had other things to do- but one thing hit me for sure- for the 44th time, we have had a peaceful transfer of power. I may not agree with all the actions of this administration, but one thing I can say for sure is that we are blessed to be Americans. We should never forget that.

    ReplyDelete
  40. 2:11

Closer to what? The Eastern Shore is a great place to live, you can sell drugs, beat women, collect your check via the mail man, sleep in till whenever, stay out till whenever, have our teachers raise your kids and provide day care all at the expense of a few great working class people. Now where else would you want to be!Now, Again, closer to what?

Now this is funny....the word verification is "chipin" chip in, thats too funny. I will be doing that for atleast four years, I have already wrote one check today to someone that walked through the doors, thanking them for stopping by. Just spreading the wealth!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Anon 1:40

I agree with you but it has to change on both sides. No more Black Entertainment, Miss Black USA, Black Colleges, etc. Until Blacks accept they are not a color and they are not different then the whites, we will always have this problem. Voting a Bi-Racial President is a great sign, if people would accept he is half white and black, he is not a Black President, he is a symbol of us coming together.

Your 1st para. is just what the English told us in 1776!

  43. Joe;

I am all for Obama and hope he does everything he promised. You mention Indians, how funny! You don't hear the Indians screaming we deserve more, and special treatment. I doubt if anyone alive today has anything to do with what horrible things happened in the past, and if they are punish them now as you would a war criminial and move on. But enough is enough already stop crying racism and at the same time seperate yourselves from us.

  44. Senator Kennedy ill at luncheon! On CBS News now!

I think everything made him sick!

  45. There is no president in history that all people wanted to be president. There is no government body today that all Americans agree with. Just remember this, it will mean something, although none of us have the same exact thoughts or the same exact views we are all still Americans. We do not all have to agree with our government. The only thing all of us need to learn how to do is understand we all have a right to think independently of one another. We can get more accomplished by trying to get that than by bashing others. I didn't vote for Obama, I wanted McCain to win, but he lost and Obama won. Things happen, I didn't get who I wanted that's the way the ball bounces sometimes. Learn to stand side by side as Americans and just doing that alone will better this country. We don't have to like our government, we just have to be American and if you don't like that leave!

    ReplyDelete
  46. How about we switch:

I want to celebrate the fact that Joe Biden is the first Catholic Vice President....Its time for change!

Is that worth mentioning or is he just another white guy!

  47. God help us all. We are going to need it.
    The cult has begun.

  48. I am so glad to be a human being in the human race and an American, that is what I am, I do not define myself by race or heritage, but I must admit, I have had my head in the sand...after reading some of these comments racism is alive and well on the eastern shore...When does it end? With whom does it end? Are we not our brothers keepers? I am grateful to all those who have sacrificed their lives and their life just so we have the opportunity to agree to disagree...but we must unite as a nation of free people...God Bless America the home of the free and of the brave!!!!

  49. and the stock market dropped 5% in one day today the biggest inaug day drop in history i wonder if the name b.hussien o. had anything to do with the selloff.

    ReplyDelete
  50. For all the Obama supporters......Did I lose my freedom of speech along with the inauguration today? Last I checked I was allowed to express my opinion of the President. I still think McCain would have been the better choice due to EXPERIENCE!!!. I will proudly display my McCain stickers until they fall off my car.
I do support the new President of the United States as the right thing to do as an American and military veteran. But, I do not have to like him as many people do not like any President at one time or another. I will give Mr. Obama the benefit of the doubt. We will see what happens.
What REALLY irritates me is that people say he is the first black President. I HIGHLY disagree. He is the first bi-racial President. He can not rightfully be called black or white. Sure, it is a history making event, but any inauguration can be a history making event. Why were so many schools forcing kids to watch the inauguration? They have never done in this in the past and I don't feel this event was really much different other than our first BI-RACIAL President. GOD Bless America, I feel we will need it. I AM an American and VERY proud of it. This means that I do have a freedom of speech and have the utmost right to express my view. You don't like it, go to another country. I'm staying here and keep fighting for MY rights.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Both of my children are bi-racial and at the time of their birth they could not be considered bi-racial....they where either white/caucasian or african american and the law stated if they had 1/10 of another race thats what they were considered..if the truth be known almost all of america's melting pot is bi-racial!!!

  52. I know I know....you hate to be the barer of bad news but we have been forewarned . Not we just got to keep him in front of us and push for his so called promise of "transparency".

He tricked his way in and we cant allow him to trick his way in to stay. You more politically oreinated bloggers must stay on top of this guy.

The only thing Ive noticed about his big shin ding is how much of a socialist butterfly obama is . Hitting all them balls.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Would someone please explain how election a 50% American 43% Arabic 7% Black African. Who spend most of his childhood in Indonesia and had a passport from there in College counts for any purposes as a Black American.

I'm sorry but until he proves he is American not Indonesian I will never accept his as anything more than a pretender.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I'm American, German-Irish

A true blood American would be Apache, Cherokee or one of many native American heritages.

A full blood Mayan is more American than most people living here, get over it. The working man has already been robbed.
