Joe,
I personally read SBY NEWS and Kent and I were very thankful when the miracle story about our little boy Nicholas (who near-drowned in Puerto Rico back in October of 2008) was spread throughout the community using your SBY NEWS blog. We received a lot of support and prayers from people we didn’t even know and that filled our hearts and helped us get through a very difficult time. Thank you!
On that note, I am not sure if you're aware of Brooke Mulford. She's the 4 y/o daughter of Rob and Amy Mulford, owners of Market Street Inn. Brooke was diagnosed with Cancer (Stage 4 Neuroblastoma) a little over a week ago and it's at the Children's Hospital in Philadelphia. The community has been amazing and her dad, Rob, posts a journal about her status on a daily basis. They have some fundraising events coming up this Friday and Sunday and there's a vigil today until 8 pm at Trinity. Below is the link Rob created in case you don't have it.

Please spread the word as we need a miracle! Kent and I experienced a miracle first hand with our little boy Nicholas and we pray for one more for the Mulfords! Miracles DO happen!
Thank you again!
Additionally:
Here are some ways you can show your support for the Mulford family.
Tuesday is the prayer vigil all day for Brooke at Trinity and then everyone is asked to invest in the "Mulford Stimulus Package" and stop by Market Street the first of 2 "Brooke Days" to see your friends.
Doug Marshall, of Marshall Auctions and The Porter-Marshall Group, he has decided to hold an immediate event to assist Brooke financially. Doug has asked me to announce that he is inviting everyone to come out this Friday to his new office and take part in "A Bonfire for Brooke".
Doug will be making arrangements this week to have a tent, a bonfire, some good eats and a wine tasting. All we ask is that everyone brings some type of cash donation to Brooke. This will be a grass roots effort without any formal advertising so be sure to copy/paste/forward this message to anyone that may want to come. Festivities will run from 4:30pm until. We also are inviting anyone that wants to prepare a dish
or donate food to do so.

This event further validates what all of us know: Doug Marshall has class!
ReplyDeleteI am all in support of any fundraiser for a child, but I must caution you to get a burn permit if you haven't done so already. Please also see if there is any requirements from the Health Department as well. I would hate to see this event cut short because the appropriate permits weren't obtained.
ReplyDeleteGood luck.
I am trying to get a singer to come to our area to put on a concert for lil Brooke. I would prefer not to give my name just incase this doesn't happen but I pray they will agree. EVERYONE PRAY...imagine the funds this would bring to the family!!!! WOW! My love, prayers and thoughts are with Brooke and her family. I hope to come back to this message board, the news and the newspaper soon with wonderful news of a concert!!
