BREAKING NEWS 1050

There was a burglary on Connelly Mill Road, later called in as Colonial Mill Road this morning. The State Police arrived and ultimately got into a high speed chase with a green Honda. One person jumped from the vehicle and took off running, K-9 Dogs are on the scene now tracking that person down. The Green Honda took off again and just now wrecked after being chased by the State Police. This is all going on LIVE right now. More updates as they come in.

Keep your eyes out for a black male in a red jacket near Rt. 13 & Stage Road. Troopers are in the area looking for this individual right now. They're now on Gordy Mill with a K-9 looking for the suspect. There have been no calls so far made to the Fire Depart after the wreck. I'll have to assume no one is injured.

The suspect in the red jacket is named Lamar. The jacket is a North Face brand jacket. He's also wearing a grey sweatshirt and wearing black Nike Boots.

The green Honda actually went head on into a Sheriff's Deputy vehicle. South bound Rt. 13 is completely shut down. They have arrested a male and a female and the other suspect (above) is still on the loose. We will have pictures coming in about 2 hours from the scene. An Ambulance did go to the scene but everyone refused to go to the Hospital stating no one was injured.

You have to admit Folks, it's pretty cool to get the information LIVE as you almost feel a part of the situation as it's going on. I know I do. Blogs are certainly the best way to go when it comes to getting breaking news.

NEW UPDATE 10:48 AM: I'm told Sheriff Mike Lewis is on the scene right now at an abandoned home on Stage Road with guns drawn. I have also been informed that the Salisbury Police Department is also on the scene.

They have CLOSED south bound Rt. 13 at Allens Mill Road. Looks like Rt. 13 is going to be closed for a while. We have also been told the suspect on the loose is 6' 1" tall and 265 pounds.

  2. Way to be on top of it Joe, I just have one thing to add-I think you meant to say Connelly Mill road, not 'Colonial Mill'. I just wanted to make sure that we have things straight hear so that the daily rag doesn't try to nail you for false reporting.

    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  3. Actually, that's the name of the road I first reported but as the information came in they changed the name of the street to Colonial. It could be a mistake on someones behalf but I changed it so no one would rag on me. You live and learn, right?

Don't you mean "mobile home park"?

Many of the people who own mobile homes in parks, including myself, do not appreciate their community being called a "trailer park".

I don't want this year to be as bad as last!

  12. A little more clarity please?

Colonial Mill and Connelly Mill are both on the Maryland side.

Stage Rd is on the MD side. OLD Stage Rd. is on the DE side.

Allens Mill Rd (where you said was blocked off) is on the DE side.

Is the abandoned house they have surrounded on the MD side or the DE side?
Stage Rd. or OLD Stage Rd.?

I have family in that area who is not answering the phone.

Alot of people don't like being called alot of things, but if its a "park" where trailers(by definition, an unpowered vehicle pulled by a powered vehicle)rests, then it is a "Trailer Park". Some, such as yourself, may call it a "Mobile Home Park" and others may even call it a "Manufactured home area of combined residences" or even "Double-wide Paradise" but I happen to call it a Trailer Park in my exercise of the First Amendment....

  14. anonymous 11:22,

They are on the Maryland/Delaware line and it could go either way. You'll just have to keep trying and or contact the Sheriff's Department with your concerns and hopefully they can share the information you're looking for.

For what it's worth, you spent an aweful lot of time telling all of us where each road is located and then came back with a story that you're concerned for a family member. I find that very hard to believe or you're not as worried as you claim.

If it were ME, I would have sent a direct e-mail to me and not a comment on a Blog.

    Nice try though.

  18. Wow. This whole gated-community competition thing has developed some strong roots nationwide. I am getting a great idea for a new reality show called "The REAL Housewives of Shady Acres." Sort of a cross between "Falcon Crest" and "The Beverly Hillbillies." Hold onto your husbands, and your teeth, ladies!! {sorry...just couldn't resist ;)}

It is what it is. If you don't like living in a trailer park then I suggest you get a real job, rebuild your credit and buy a real house.

  21. Why don't you all just quit getting testy over trailer park or whatever - what is important here is that Joe got the information to us as it was happening, unlike WBOC, WMDT or The Daily Times. And I also wonder why chopper 16 can't bring us the news right away, bunch of lazy azzes, always waiting for someone else to do their job for them.

  25. In all fairness, I don't think local chopper news sources are able to be concerned with anything as trivial as a live multi-jurisdictional police chase of an armed fugitive. I believe all their resources have been devoted to the live turkey give-away from1,000 feet above the Pine Dale Shopping Mall..As god is my witness; I thought turkeys could fly.

  26. There are Travel Trailers and Mobile Homes. The term trailer park originated many years ago when infact they were just that, small compact living quarters that could be transported to and from various locations, however technology has changed dramatically thus we now refer to them as Mobile Homes.Everybody wants to refer to folks that reside in such as trash and scum, but it's not necessarily so. I personally do not live in a mobile home but I DO NOT criticize those that do!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. any idea when you'll get the pics posted? thanks for covering this story joe.

and for those who are offended by trailer park, where did you tell the used car salesman you lived when you signed the Buy Here Pay Here agreement? that's right, you said the Trailer Park.

  28. It's a Trailer Park. I know it, you know it, and every tornado knowes it.

  29. Nothing compares to some develpiments calling itself "Mobile Estates" I kid you not. They actually have the nerve to try and make you think they are valued property and are going to be left in a will.
Lets break it down. First its a trailer or mobile home if you will. You set up camp by parking it and you can move it elsewhere meaning MOBILE. More than three trailers constitutes a trailer park. The depreciation rates are very high on trailers and dont cost much to buy.
There you have it. Its a trailer park. The rest is optional. WWE, WWF,Ultimate Fight network, four wheel drive trucks,Volunteer Farmin, ATV's, dish network,Country Music, food stamps, NASCAR,WalMart and flea markets. I think that about does it.

For your information, I work 2 jobs and probably work harder than you do.
I chose to buy a mobile home because I knew I could afford the payments...unlike some who have to have the biggest house in the county with payments they cannot afford and are now losing their homes.

I do not drive a buy here/pay here vehicle and my vehicle is only 2 years old. I make regular payments to the local bank just like many of you do.

My credit score is probably higher than yours so don't even go there. I, for one, am not up to my ass in debt...but you probably are.

You do not know me...you are no better than me. How dare you talk down to me like I am less than you.

And Joe, you are no better for even letting those comments go through. Bet you're sittin over there in your office laughing your ass off...well I hope you're having fun...at someone else's expense AGAIN.

Post your real name and let us know what Trailer Park you're in and we'll check it oyut to make sure you're for real. Till then, no one is going to buy any more of this crap.

How dare I allow these comments? Again, your name is??????? You've been harmed how???????? Unbelievable!

Actually I'm sitting in my Office upstairs in my custom built Home on 7.5 acres in Delmar looking down on my 40' Motor Coach on wheels.

  40. I am too busy rejoicing over my $20morning winning wager {BTW..I have ten dollars in Snausages for the good doggies..woof-woof good friends...woof-woof} to note the exact times; however, now that these true alleged deservers of ECI cells are "cuffed and stuffed"-allow me to retort on certain other comments. In all seriousness, what do you care what you (or others) call the place you have as a home? You appear to have a roof over your head and a warm bed {and as a bonus you most likely aren't in Gaza where your bathtub full of kids may explode at anytime}...read how some of the less fortunate don't have the time to get into your pretentious labels. Be thankful for what you have if it is clean, warm and safe.

  41. Bobby, you're not getting it. You see, ALL of you don't go to every Post and read every comment. You also don't sit on my end reading hundreds of comments daily and rejecting 1/3 of them. The reason they're rejected is because there's an administration out there that is doing everything in their powers to discredit the Blogs again because it's election time. Hence the Post I put up last night http://sbynews.blogspot.com/2009/01/todays-daily-times-grapevine-pot-calls.html where the Daily Times is back at it again trying to bash the Blogs. However, they're clueless because today's big breaking news will be the laughing stock of the Daily Times again because they can't produce it till tomorrow and believe me, our hits today are through the roof and there's only so many people on the entire Eastern Shore. They've been here, done that on this article.

Anyhow, there are several people out there trying to word things, just like the alleged Trailer Park guy all upset someone would call is trailer a trailer. No name, no credibility. Of course since I called them out on it, look what happened, they shut up because I'm on to them. I love teasing some of these people and letting some of their comments up, just to play with them in the end and nail them.

The Administration is working very hard right now to crush Joe Albero and Salisbury News once again. It's abuse of power and this time around it will bite them in the ass like they've never seen before. We've been expecting this and others in the proper positions are ready to counter it should it happen.

These people can't run off their reputation. No, they have to cheat and steal from people and get others out of the picture so they can pull the sheets over every one's head. Pay no attention to these people Bobby, they're decoys.

  48. Reasons you might be a Redneck...

You own a home that is mobile and 5cars that aren't.

Your home has more miles on it than your car.

Your richest relative invites you over to his new home to help him remove the wheels and skirt.

You replace a flat tire on your truck with a tire from your house.

You have to go outside to get something out of the 'fridge.

You come home from the garbage dump with more than you went with.

You have to go outside to get something out of the 'fridge.

Your child's first words are "Attention K-Mart shoppers!".

You grow flowers in an old commode in your front yard.

You ever cut your grass and found a car.

Your wife has ever said, "Come move this transmission so I can take a bath."

The Salvation Army declines your mattress.

And I just wanted to chime in that there are mobile homes aka trailers that I have seen that are nicer than most houses! They are an affordable way to buy a nice home but they do depreciate rapidly....

Also want to apologize for not posting alot recently-my computer is dire need of a tuneup and my dialup speed is in the single digits these days...think I need a new modem.

    Glad you liked.

One good thing about Joe's blog is he always leaves room for humor. Sort of like the comics section.

By the way when I was a kid we used to live in a Trailer Park, but it was nothing like this. It is what you make it. A Trailer is what my father decided to buy at the time as he was in the Navy and we traveled alot. Coming from a poor family in West Virginia he probably thought he was "movin on up."
