Adolf Hitler Campbell Removed From Parents' Home

Remember little 3-year-old Adolf Hitler Campbell? How could we forget the poor New Jersey boy whose parents saw no harm in naming their son after one of the world's most notorious murderers? Perhaps now they are beginning to see how that wasn't such a great idea. According to Holland Township police chief David Van Gilson, Adolf and his younger siblings JoyceLynn Aryan Nation and Honszlynn Hinler have been removed from their parents' home by the New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services.
The children's father, Heath Campbell, denied to a reporter that his children were taken and, as is their policy, the Division of Youth and Family Services would not comment. But Chief Gilson says that the kids were taken last week in the presence of a township police officer. He goes on to say that a hearing is scheduled for Thursday to decide whether the state can place the children temporarily in another home.

While I would never name my kids like these parents chose to and don't necessarily agree with it, I don't feel that their kids should be able to be taken away based only on what they were named - if that is the case.
ReplyDeleteI suspect there may be other reasons the children were removed from the home but nobody's talking.
From my account of the article, the children were apparently taken because of threats made on the childrens lives, not because of the names given to the children.
ReplyDeleteNow if authorities can only help poor little Pol Pot Jefferson....
ReplyDeleteI do not agree with names of these children, but if the state was to start taking away children based on names? What would happen to all the Saddams, Obomas, Mohammads, etc. In different parts of the world, these names do bring pictures of violent crimes.
ReplyDeleteJoyceLynn Aryan Nation? Thats disgusting to put names like that on your kids but within their rights, sadly. You should have to get a permit before you reproduce.
ReplyDeleteI bet if those kids names were "Martin Luther", "Malcolm Little" "Jesse Louis Jackson", or "Naacp" they would be praised. In either case ist is racist. It is nobody's business what people name their children. If a person feels so strongly about their beliefs they should be no reason that they should be harassed. It is my opinion that they went a little overboard (OK,ALOT OVERBOARD), but it isn't any of my business, now is it?
ReplyDeletewell yeah it becomes all our business when the government comes in and starts taking children out of their parents homes...
ReplyDeletebut, like others have said, if there are other reasons for them to be taken away (other than their names) then perhaps it is a good thing.
I cannot believe you can compare the name Adolf Hitler to Martin Luther. Way off base and really twisted thinking!!
ReplyDeleteThat being said, what people name their kids really is their business. People teach their children to be racist and fill them with hatred everyday but sadly it is not a crime. there has got to be more to the story.
Who are the brain police?

I doubt they took the kids because of there names.. I mean really thats just insain..I do not at all agree with what they chose to name there children..but its there right as parents to name there kids whatever they wanted...I find it hard to believe they took the kids because of threats people were making towards the parents or children..if they did..that isnt a good reason to take children from there parents..the parents didnt make threats towards the kids other people did..they should be the ones being punished not the children or parents. Too bad a judge can't make them change the names of the kids..they are going to have a hard life.
ReplyDeleteWhat's Racist about Martin Luther? he just tried to reform the protestant church. the Holy Roman emperor was wrong to excommunicate him.
ReplyDeleteCalling a kid Martin Luther King, who loved all men and wanted them to live in peace together, that wouldn't be racist.
ReplyDeleteBut calling him Hitler or Malcolm Little or Malcolm X or Louis Farrakhan would be.
this is insane.. any way you look at it. I dont care if he named his kids jim manson.. they are his kids. A little warped.. but they are his kids. and for kids to be taken just because of a name is stupid. But then again this is our system. wait till he 20th..
