Red Net Alert
This is the group, (GFAO) that was hired to review the City's Audit. Typical of the Tilghman Administration, nothing has been said that I know of throughout the Press in reference to this meeting and once again it's become a last minute thing.
Should be quite interesting.
Mayoral Candidate On Bill Reddish Monday Morning At 7:40 AM
Jim Ireton Announces for Mayor ...
Anyone who attended Jim Ireton's announcement that he was running for Mayor had to be impressed. Ireton's well thought out speech hit on the major problems facing Salisbury and Ireton presented common sense solutions to solving them.
The most important thing to note about Ireton's speech was an almost unique blend of persuasive rhetoric and substantive policy recommendations. Ireton accomplished this because he is truly passionate about Salisbury and in solving the problems facing a once great city. There was nothing "over the top" about anything he said. Instead Ireton focused attention on 5 issues:
- The Wicomico River
- Growth and Development
- Housing
- Fiscal Policy
- Crime

Jim Ireton Announcement Corrections From Yesterday
--Salisbury-- Candidate for Mayor of Salisbury, Jim Ireton, issues this statement regarding statistics used in yesterday's mayoral bid announcement.
1. The # of Police Positions at Salisbury Police Department that have been requested but NOT funded from 2003 to the present is 26 - Ireton used the number 12 in his remarks.
2. The average # of calls for service over the past 4 weeks is 118 per day, not 118 per week as Ireton stated.
"I am very pleased that a crowd of 75 joined me for this announcement, and the start of the "Help Is On The Way" Tour. My misstatements, though few,
are regrettable. They do however give me the opportunity to again put the number of unfunded positions in front of the public, as our neighbors - both renter and homeowner - wonder why the current administration thinks that a 4% cut in crime is laudable after a decade in office and a refusal to fund any of the requested positions above.""
SOCIALISM SPREADS
1,600 days ago, I sent out a massive email warning people about the advent of Socialism here in the US. It was exactly 4 years, 4 months, 16 days ago that I fired off the initial warning shot via email.
Socialism warnings in the US and in particular, Maryland, were as far back though as 1984.
It wasn't enough to have our State's Home Football Team, the Baltimore Colts, move to Indianapolis. Most people don't even know what caused the owner, Robert Irsay, to make the midnight move because the internet audience had not yet fully developed.
Here is an excerpt from his obituary, posted in the Indianapolis Star, January 15, 1997;
"Irsay moved the Colts to Indianapolis one day after the Maryland Legislature passed a law allowing the city of Baltimore to take over the franchise by eminent domain.
Fifteen Mayflower vans loaded with all of the team's possessions began moving out of the Colts' office and training facility in Owings Mills, Md., shortly after midnight because it was feared the franchise would be seized after daybreak. "They not only threw down the gauntlet, but they put a gun to his head and cocked it and asked, `Want to see if it's loaded?' Michael Chernoff, the team's general counsel, said after the move. "They forced him to make a decision that day."
Then, our State Legislature was at it once again, trying to Socialize an entire private industry and or future industries . . . . (Wal-Mart). . through Maryland’s Proposed Fair Share Health Act.
Take a look at what has transpired at the Federal level. Your government has now taken a controlling interest in Bear Stearns, Fanny Mae, Freddy Mac, AIG, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and Lehman Brothers. Within the next few weeks it will be a bailout for GM, Ford, and Chrysler.
A Government that owns its Country’s largest enterprises is Communist.
If there ever was a lesson to be learned here, it is that those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.
NEWS ALERT SHOULD BE SPREAD TO ALL CORNERS OF OUR NATION.
"Help Is On The Way Tour"
In a very charismatic speech yesterday, one couldn't help but walk away believing, FINALLY, there is hope for Salisbury, "help is on the way."
With close to 100 people in attendance and every ounce of Press available in the Eastern Shore, there was standing room only and the employees were doing everything they could to find additional chairs to seat the overflow.
Jim's Family was there to support him as well as many friends and curious voters. I'll leave his formal message for GA Harrison to Post but I'll simply say, I was sold. Salisbury has a true Candidate that can deliver and turn this City around and when Mr. Ireton comes knocking at your door, welcome him, ask him questions and wait til you hear truthful answers. I know, it's something none of us are used to but it certainly is refreshing.
Oh, if you don't want to hear the truth should Mr. Ireton come knocking at your door, don't answer it.
The CROWN CENTER Introduces Their New LASER TAG Facility
Ladies & Gentlemen:
There is absolutely no room any more for kids and adults to complain that there just isn't enough to do in the Salisbury area. Bill, Judy & Suzie Hearne have gone all out, (literally) and spared no expense by bringing the most state of the art Laser Tag to Fruitland.
Saturday was their Grand Opening and while they did a pre introduction last Saturday, more than 1,000 people turned out to experience this unbelievable facility.
I'm told this facility is 3 times the size of the one in Ocean City and it's all brand new. I did a walk through Saturday and honest to God, it's unbelievable. It's a two story, 12,000 sq. ft. arena and each vest suit cost more than $3,000.00. Lord knows what the actual room cost them to build and the computer system that runs it.
One game is $7.00. Two games is $13.00 and three games is $18.00. You must be 7 years or older to play and no less than 48 inches tall. Considering they're only 3 miles away from SU, this place is going to be packed. They can play up to 30 players at a time and several teams at one time.
You can book a private party and when you see all the details of how much it cost and what you get for the money you just won't believe it.
For many years I was one of those parents paying out thousands of dollars for my kids to play Paintball. Two of my Boys went Semi Pro and traveled all over the United States playing in tournaments. Heck, I'm sure many of you parents reading this know what it cost to set your child up to play Paintball, then you tack on the cost of paint balls. Each one of the guns my kids had were more than $2,000.00 a piece! To spend a thousand dollars for one Paintball Tournament was cheap!
With this Laser Tag Arena, everything is inclusive. They provide the vests and guns as well as the most important feature, a 12,000 sq. ft. INDOOR ARENA! I truly expect this to be the next HOT place for everyone to enjoy.
If that isn't good enough, the Hearne's have also opened up their new Arcade Room attached to the Laser Tag area. Your kids can play and enjoy all of the new games available on the market and get tickets you can turn in for prizes.
Once again, my hat is tipped to the Hearne Family who are giving back to the residents of Wicomico County like no one else I've ever seen. Show your support and simply take a ride out there to see what they're offering. Believe me, it's well worth the trip to the south end of Fruitland on Business Rt 13.

Amazing Women
"I saw the most amazing thing happen yesterday! I was standing outside my workplace and heard the unmistakable sound of a vehicle hitting another. I ran towards the sound to see if anyone needed help. The 2 vehicles pulled over to the side. A female got out of each vechicle. The lady who was hit, got out, spoke to the other lady and looked at the rear end of her vehicle. The other lady looked at the front end of her vehicle. I guess there was no damage because both of them approached each other and hugged each other right on the spot! No yelling, no cursing no blame or threats of a lawsuit! Just a simple hug and all was well. They got back into their vehicles and drove off. Women are truly amazing!"
