"Help Is On The Way Tour"

In a very charismatic speech yesterday, one couldn't help but walk away believing, FINALLY, there is hope for Salisbury, "help is on the way."

With close to 100 people in attendance and every ounce of Press available in the Eastern Shore, there was standing room only and the employees were doing everything they could to find additional chairs to seat the overflow.

Jim's Family was there to support him as well as many friends and curious voters. I'll leave his formal message for GA Harrison to Post but I'll simply say, I was sold. Salisbury has a true Candidate that can deliver and turn this City around and when Mr. Ireton comes knocking at your door, welcome him, ask him questions and wait til you hear truthful answers. I know, it's something none of us are used to but it certainly is refreshing.

Oh, if you don't want to hear the truth should Mr. Ireton come knocking at your door, don't answer it.

  1. Here's A Post Worth Repeating:

    SALISBURY'S COUNTERFEIT CRIME-BUSTER – BUBBA

I gagged on the food in my mouth upon hearing that this poseur is presenting himself as a dedicated crime fighter in his attempt to succeed his mentor, Barrie Tilghman, as Salisbury's mayor. Nothing could be farther-fetched. Comegys has consistently opposed funding appropriate force level and pay for the City's police.

Bubba is an accomplished political chameleon. Don't be surprised to hear him quoting from the Crimestoppers Textbook while sporting Dick Tracy's early prototype of the cell phone on his wrist during the campaign. Anything to deceive.

  2. It appears Mr. Ireton hired a group of campaign event professionals. This was the most well organized event I've attended short of a national campaign. The decor, the presentation, the energy level, it was magnificent. I later learned it was organized and staged by a group of local volunteers. Mr. Ireton, you have my vote.

  3. Jim may very well come knocking at your door. I remember when he was running for a Council seat; he came to my house twice. That's why I was so impressed with him then. I believe that he is just what Salisbury needs. Best wishes to him as he pursues the post of mayor.

  5. 10:49. Judging the ramblings appearing to be from one nibbled on by a rabid possum, I can only surmise 10:49 may be Beezer. Bet some of you guys are great on long plane rides (think of the people who are forced to sit next to Ted Striker during the "Airplane" movies-he never "got over" Macho Grande either).

That's spot on. Comegys is a clown, as well as a bankrupt, child support defaulter and divorced for what many still deem to be dishonorable grounds. As mayor he would be a disgrace to the City of Salisbury.

But, we can expect that he will be supported by non-residents of Salisbury who have been able to control the City throough Barrie Tilghman for the past 10 years -- SAPOA, Greater Salisbury Committee and the local Chamber of Commerce.

  7. Way to go, Jim! It was a great launch to a great campaign. Nobody will work harder for Salisbury than Mr. Ireton.

  8. 10:25...THIS is the kind of professionalism Salisbury needs! And it was all local talent! I remember during Terry Cohen's campaign, she kept talking about citizen's being our greatest resource, that we weren't tapping what we already have here.

Jim Ireton has apparently tapped it!!! Just looking at these pictures has me excited! I'm even using lots of exclamation points, and I never do that!!!

C'mon, Salisbury! Let's get behind Jim Ireton and make this city great again. I know one man can't do it alone, and with all the damage done, it's going to take time. But I haven't seen such a happy crowd in ages. Makes you want to be part of it!!!!!

Thank you, Joe, for posting this! Thank you, Jim Ireton, for putting your enthusiasm and experience on the line for your town, our town!!!

  9. We don't need to trash Comegys to take the mayor's seat. A record of voting on issues, crime and a good look around at all of the empty homes in this town is all one needs to do to know that we really need a change and hope we still have a future here. I support Jim Ireton for mayor.

  11. 1:08. A "serving suggestion"....work on Comegys, et al., with "symbolic" pliers and blowtorches, especially if you have grounds to do so. But leave his wife and/or kids out of it, or you will risk giving him the chance to entrench himself within the moral high ground to dismiss all of the ACTUAL animous that we express TOWARDS HIM here.

You might support bubba but most of us don't. He has raped us and we will never forget now go crawl back under his rock.

  14. Did anyone notice the coverage of this event in the Daily Times? Not only was the article grammatically incorrect, it was also riddled with spelling errors. The biggest insult, however, was the lack of any pictures of the event. The Daily Times had a photographer there. I saw him taking plenty of pictures, yet the Daily Times chose to use a stock photo of Jim instead of any from the event showing the packed room and overwhelming support. Makes you go "hmmmm."

  15. 3:52. I have been drinking all day and have more comprehension than you will ever develop in your entire life. Read my comment again; SLOWLY-think if you have ever heard Mr. Bobby comment on city affairs before...(it is OK if you need to use your finger to sound out the words)...Unbelievable-now I understand how YOU let things get as bad as they have become!!!

  16. Thank you JIM for running for Mayor.
Maybe now we can get an intelligent,
HONEST Mayor in office, that is not racial. Sorry Barrie, but the truth
hurts doesn't it. Commegy's you have
about as much change as winning the
Mayorial race as the State of Maryland getting a full day's work from you.
