Hell, We Don't Just Want A Free Building, Give Us All That Waterfront Land Too!

Spin it any way you want, the Theater is a load of crap! These guy actually stood there and stated that this design fit in with the Historical Society Guidelines, PLEASE! It looks more like Camden Yards to me!

Then, being very slick, Bill Ahtes & James Gillespie (?) announced they were neutral and not affiliated with any group and or this project. Looks like Ahtes and that Arts Group doesn't want to be recognized for the failure they had at the Boulevard Theater and the scam that went on there.

Nevertheless, this is a BS project and it's simply another attempt to get Waterfront Property for free and or next to nothing. Look at this thing Ladies & Gentlemen, is this what YOU want Downtown?

When I stood up to speak and express I was interested in PURCHASING the building and that I would restore it back to its original state, only TWO Council Members would actually look at me and look me in the eyes. The rest lowered their heads and looked at paperwork, not mine, because I didn't bring any.

You'll notice in today's Daily Times, there's NO mention of my offer. The Tilghman Times Spin Machine is back in full swing Ladies & Gentlemen. DON'T let the Public/Taxpayers know there are any other offers out there and certainly don't let them know those people stood up and spoke out PUBLICLY because that would ruin their scam.

I'll state this FOR THE RECORD. I flat out asked the Council AND Gary Comegys on PAC14, does the property that goes from the Fire House to the river come with the property? Comegys said, NO! Look at these drawings Folks. You Tell Me, WHY would these people go through ALL that trouble having these drawings done IF that property doesn't come with it.

Gary Comegys IS A LIAR and this City will do ANYTHING to SCREW the Taxpayer, ESPECIALLY when it comes to this Fire Department and the BS scams they keep pulling off.

It Just Doesn't Get Any Better Than This!

Do all of you remember the woman in the wheel chair last Christmas who had her money stolen from her while shopping? Well, she just wanted to thank me personally as well as all of you who came to her rescue. I don't want to give out all the personal details in her message inside this Card but let me assure you, she's very grateful!

So this Card goes out to ALL of YOU who helped this Family out in a time of need. It sure does beat a Certificate from the City of Salisbury, that's for sure!

Robinson Is In Some Fairly Deep Sh!t

John Robinson doesn't seem to be off the hook yet on his discharging a weapon in his Store the other night and fragments allegedly striking an employee. In fact, it's my understanding the charges will allegedly be reckless endangerment and allegedly a criminal summons will more than likely be out against him very soon, if they haven't been already.

That being said, he will more than likely turn himself in, (if he knows what's better for him) and face the Commissioner. The charges could also be stronger against him, depending on how the Commissioner feels about this incident.

Nevertheless, the States Attorneys Office and the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office isn't taking this lightly. Best of luck John.

I would like to personally thank the people at WMDT for adding the Pocomoke Tattler to its lists of blogs and flowing our stories through UN-EDITED!

Additionally I would like to Thank Joe Albero of SBY news for suggesting that the Pocomoke Tattler be included on the blog listings.

There are a number of blogs and people who have jumped onto some sort of Anti-Joe Albero bandwagon because of his reporting style.

I have met Joe and spoken with him on the phone a number of times and let me tell you this, he IS a reasonable man.

I don't agree with him on everything and we disagree on a few major political issues but one thing we do agree on... is...

People in America feel like they have lost the right to disagree.

So if you have a problem with Joe Albero why don't you pick up the phone and talk to him?

Why not send a comment or e-mail USING YOUR REAL NAME?

Is it proper to say that a lot of the Anti-Albero people are there are a bunch of pussies who are afraid to say who they are and throw stones under a screen name.

If you want the mans respect, tell him you think he is wrong, tell him why & tell him who you are... (just don't invade his private property without invitation like Wayne did).

What happened to the old friends who meet in the coffee shop every day, argue about politics, then go fishing together on Saturday & are on their knees praising the Lord together on Sunday?

The left wing press has taught us that anyone who does not agree with 100% of our / their political views are demons and the enemy...

Heck if you argue about something like abortion (I am pro-life btw) in a public venue, you could be labeled as a terrorist.

Heaven forbid that a citizen in Pocomoke City questions the Boss Hogg form of politics in a public arena, yet all but a few will slap my back and agree in private.

WMDT is taking a big step forward to go backwards and support grassroots bloggers exercising freedom of the press.

Are they making money by redistributing out content with permission?

I certainly hope so, they are a business not a charity and I would encourage our readers to show their support by patronizing their local sponsors and if you saw them by reading something on ours or any blog site tell them....

I Just Posted This On Story Chat

Crazycatbox, The new Fire Station will have a Museum in the new building, so there's no need for a second one within the City. Might I add, there's a HUGE Museum right in Hebron that is supposed to be out of this world and it's right off Rt. 50.

Come Here, I am the former owner of that property and am very proud to have sold the property to Todd & Carroll Wampler. It is now called, "Station 7 Restaurant." The Salisbury Fire Department is probably twice the size of that restaurant and the cost is not important here.
That being said, let me make this pledge to ALL of the Citizens and Taxpayers of Salisbury.

IF the City is willing to sell me that building, I pledge to bring that building back to its original condition with exception to the top floor. Allow me to explain. The top floor is mainly offices right now. My plan would be as follows.

First of all, out of full and due respect for the Wamplers, Station 16 would be very similar. The theme for the restaurant I propose for that location would continue to have a Fire Department decor. I would collect as much memorabilia as possible for this location as well as other Local Fire Departments.

I would use the ground level, (basement) as the kitchen. The main street level would be wide open for dining and the third floor would be a Bar and possibly an Office area.

I would make every attempt to duplicate the "ORIGINAL" front doors to the building and I can assure you, the Citizens of Salisbury would be very proud.

This will not only create around 40 to 50 jobs, it would also create a real estate tax base in the City in which it has never seen on this particular property. Not while it's been a Fire Station anyway. It would create a positive economic & development to the area and I can assure you, it would become a HUB for more businesses to come.

In case you were not aware, I owned a Restaurant called, "Happy Days Cafe" in Crofton, Maryland next to Jaspers on Rt. 301. This business was a huge success. I also owned a Chain of Upscale Billiard Rooms with food service in all of them. I have a SUCCESSFUL background in this business and the only reason I got out of them was simply because I became burned out also owning my Manufacturing Company at the same time.
So this is not just an off the cuff thing I am proposing. If you want this building to stay historic, my proposal will assure each and every one of you the peace of mind for just that. Salisbury Police Keepin It Real

On February 4, 2008 at approximately 11:10 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department met with a victim of a theft involving her credit cards. The officers were advised that the credit cards had been stolen in Delaware, however had been used in the Salisbury area. The officers were advised of a possible suspect, listed below, at a local motel in Salisbury. The officers responded and located the suspect. At the time of contact, the suspect was in possession of the stolen credit cards. A search of the suspect’s vehicle also revealed additional credit cards from a second victim, and a quantity of suspected marijuana. The second victim was contacted and verified that her credit cards had also been stolen in the State of Delaware, but used in Salisbury.


ARRESTED: Valtoya Ann Taylor, 24 years of age Laurel, Delaware

CHARGES:
Theft (under $ 500) (5 counts)
Conspiracy to commit theft
Possession of marijuana
Possession of CDS/paraphernalia

Princess Anne Commissioner Frank White Pleads Guilty

While Frank knew he had made a huge mistake and wrote a letter apologizing for what he had done, yesterday was his day in Court. Frank was represented by none other than Hadley, (Charles Jannace).

For some odd reason, the State Trooper asked Frank to remove everything from his pockets in the Court Room and they held it for him. However, Frank claims when he did so, ("I've never heard of a State Trooper taking your wallet and money clip," said Frank White) he claims to have had $357.00 in the money clip and when he got it back there was only $157.00 in it. Did I mention Charles Jannace was his Attorney?

Nevertheless, Frank received probation before judgment, no conviction for 18 months and he must take an alcohol class. The charges and story you read in the Tilghman Times is not accurate. Frank said, "They screwed up the whole story and she was sitting right there."

Charles Jannace said, "He has been a friend for 12 years, and it is humbling for me to be here today." WHOOPS, Charles Jannace forgot to mention that Frank White was ALSO a Business Partner in a Cigar Shop in Princess Anne. Can you say, conflict of interest? Yes, allegedly there is still money owed to Mr. Jannace for the business loan and Charles can't be paid if Frank is in Jail. Now that's NOT Frank's fault, mind you.

Smith to Railroad Audit Meeting Today

Salisbury Councilwoman Louise Smith, who derailed at Monday's work session on the city's audit plans to railroad the public today. Smith has announced that after she completes her presentation (contrary to her own rules) she will allow council members ten (10) minutes each to ask questions. She may allow another round of ten (10) minutes, but will end the meeting no later than 7:30 PM.

The ploy is a simple one. If a large contingent of taxpayers show up who are not allied with Mayor Barrie Tilghman or Smith, she will simply claim that they'll reschedule another meeting. Smith is clearly hoping that the public will lose interest, or run out of steam, so that she may sweep the disgraceful state of the city's financial management under the rug.

On another note, we have also learned that Mayor Barrie "I Take Full Responsibility" Tilghman takes her responsibility so seriously that she has left town to attend a conference rather than field questions from council regarding the audit. This lends credence to the views of some I have talked to that Smith's display on Monday was a calculated move to (in part) allow the Mayor to read her statement, field no questions, and then to get out of Dodge.

The Game Plan

Immediately after Salisbury Councilwoman Louise Smith's "Fascist Fiesta" on Monday, she was approached by Barrieland's el presidente para vida, Mayor Barrie Tilghman - "Louise, we have to get together and work on your game plan".

Tilghman may also be wishing that the Mike Dunn days were back. Back then Tilghman only had to give him marching orders. If Dunn went a little too far in executing his orders, the ruling elite would send a babysitter for the next meeting or two.

With Smith it has become increasingly apparent that she is incapable of carrying out her orders without a detailed script. Anything that takes Smith off of script, like questions from a council member, leads to threats, lectures and an overall breakdown.

It may be Tilghman's plan to allow Smith's bad behavior to be the diversion she (Tilghman) needs to draw some attention away from the total breakdown of the city's financial management. On the surface it seems like a good plan. Tilghman has never hesitated throwing one of her minions to the wolves when public furor became a touch to loud.

It won't work this time. Unlike her predecessor, Smith actually believes that she's running the council (instead of Tilghman). She's attempting to do so in the only manner she knows how; to treat Councilwoman Debbie Campbell, Councilwoman Terry Cohen, and the public like a bunch of recalcitrant school children.

Her lecturing and grandstanding have worn thin with the public, as evidenced by Monday's turn out (which was probably a record for a work session). Unless Tilghman thinks that she can literally sit in the back room and bark instructions to Smith through an ear piece like a modern day Wizard of Oz it's not going to work. As I stated earlier, while Smith follows her orders most of the time, when she enters the council chambers she forgets her place in the Barrieland hierarchy.

A word of advice Barrie -
Smith doesn't appear to have the mental ability to run your rubber stamp council unless the minority (and the public) is bound and gagged. Since I sincerely hope your opposition isn't going down without a fight, it's time to jettison this piece of baggage and backbench her.

The Trash On The Downtown Plaza Is Out Of Control

I was speaking with some friends who own and operate a business on the Downtown Plaza about the trash situation and they flat out said, it's out of control.

They stated they spoke to the Mayor about it and nothing at all has been done about it. Apparently in the mornings it looks really bad down there because all the trash cans are overflowing. When Jacobs was head of Public Works, he had someone coming through there very early in the morning. Now, no one comes in there till almost afternoon and by then every trash can is overflowing.

This person has now made video footage of the trash and is working with local News Stations in the hopes of getting it on the air, since Barrie Tilghman won't do anything about it. Who knows, maybe they'll actually get it on the air and Barrie will look like a fool?

When I was posting pictures like this regularly about a year and a half ago, Mike Dunn actually brought it up in a Council Meeting and spoke directly with Gary Comegys about residents on the Plaza dumping their trash into the public trash cans. Gary responded with something like, I don't think it's all residents doing it.

OK Gary, take a look at the photo above. Do you think someone walking down the Plaza had it in their hands and just dropped it off there? I'm tell you, (all the Downtown businesses) don't pay to remove your trash. There is NO law against you putting your trash into those cans for FREE. Overwhelm the City with trash and show them the LOVE!

The 10 Million Dollar Station

Just in case you don't know what or where it is, it's a Fire Station. If you can't read the signs posted outside, all over the building, just look up and see the 5 foot tall emblems at their highest peak.

Ladies & Gentlemen, I'm sorry but I'm going to be completely honest with you. This building is simply ugly as sh!t. How these guys can be so proud of such an ugly building is beyond me but this thing is ugly.

Homestead Tax Credit

I want you included 'in-the-loop' on this information regarding a cap on real estate assessments in Wicomico County. Presently, Talbot County has a real estate assessment cap at 0%. That's right. . . they have not had an assessment increase for over a decade now.

The net result won't significantly benefit the taxpayers who pay their real estate taxes in Wicomico County because we already have a revenue cap that prevents skyrocketing real estate bills. The real estate tax bills with the revenue cap in place prevents run-a-way tax bills like they are experiencing in Worcester County and across other parts of Maryland including adjacent Somerset.

However, in the event legislation comes out of Annapolis, Maryland that would override the Revenue Cap . . . -(Ref. HB 125 http://mlis.state.md.us/2008rs/billfile/HB0125.htm). . . then it would benefit Wicomico residents tremendously. VOICE is just being proactive - ('a good offense is the best defense').

Louise Smith, "Respectfully and Professionally"

Salisbury City Councilwoman Louise Smith has repeatedly lectured her fellow council members, and her own constituents, that she will make sure that council is run "respectfully and professionally". If you have not seen the WBOC story from Monday night, its now out there on YouTube.

Smith shows how respectful of her constituents and other council members she is. Respect is defined in the Louise Smith dictionary as "lecturing all assembled while they are forced to remain silent". Professionalism is defined as "any behavior deemed appropriate by Louise Smith, regardless of generally accepted societal norms".

Louise Smith Threatens Public Again ...

... well, sort of.

During her interview with WBOC during a break in Wednesday's work session Smith wanted to let the public know that "we'll have security here" during Thursday's work session regarding the audit. The public needs to remember that during two of the last three meetings of the Salisbury Council Smith has threatened to have citizens bodily removed.

So much for "Government in the Sunshine" - one of the cornerstones of Smith's campaign for Council.
