Special Offer from Good Fella's in Pittsville

I was talking to the owners of Good Fella's Restaurant in Pittsville today who told me that they are now offering 10% off of everything for Police Officers, Firefighters, and EMS personnel. They are doing this in recognition of the valuable service they provide to their communities everyday.
They will also now deliver to almost any location in the northern hemisphere! Just kidding! BUT they will deliver in Pittsville and surrounding areas including Gumboro, De. You can call 410-835-0222 to find out if they'll deliver to your area. I told them that I would put it here on this blog so that those qualified could take advantage of the savings.

  1. Salute! America is one of the few countries in the world under extreme difficult conditions to pull together and make it work without a civil war.

It's time to throw politics as we know it under the bus and move on to more productive actions. No other nation in history has given to others as this nation. Consider this a time when we need to give upon ourselves to pull up the boot straps and head over this hump.

  2. 6:41...you're absolutely right! I've said the same thing myself many times. We, as a society, are responsible in many ways for the condition of our economy. We're not the only ones responsible but we do own some of it. If we got ourselves into it we can get ourselves out. We cut back on the use of fuel and they're choking on it. We could see oil at $25 a bbl in no time. This is a perfect example of how supply and demand works. Consumers - buy from local companies. Local businesses - don't rake your customers over the coals. We can put this thing back together.

  5. Good Fellas Rocks!

  6. hey 6:59

Nobody said anything about them being considered heroes. Sounds like somebody didn't get enough attention! Service to your country is an honorable thing but it doesn't automatically raise you up to hero status. You do it out of a sense of duty not the desire to be considered a hero.

  10. To the anon trying to bust on the person wondering about the Military personnel getting a discount...You suck and got a lot of nerve.

This has nothing to do with attention. The reason that you can sit here and spew your stupid trash talk is because of our military. None of them deserved your stupid remark.

  11. Every food business should make this offer. I believe Chick Fila does even better than 10% off.

  12. Don't most, if not all, police agencies frown on special offers to the officers......having to do with ethical behavior and standards?

Only Chief Webster. Just ask around.

  14. Military Mom, I served without complaint OR any request to be seen as a hero. Even at this point in my life I've never asked for anything in return. I can understand you seeing your child as a hero but don't "expect" it from everyone else. The person anon 6:59 insinuated that the service as a police officer, firemen, and ems is somehow less honorable. That was wrong, IMHO, and I have every right to express that opinion. And just so that you know......I served so that you could have the right to tell me I suck. Now get down off your high horse. PS - Tell your son/daughter I sincerely appreciate their service and carrying on the torch of freedom so that he/she can pass it on to those coming up behind them the way it was passed to them. Freedoms isn't free.

  15. Most places I've ever worked especially on the boardwalk in downtown OC we never charged the police for anything. We sold quick hand to hand food, nothing over $5 and the police never took advantage, we gave because it was the right thing to do. Thanks for that compliment of my 6:41 post Grand Dad, coming from you I'm honored.

People that are negitive about this post, I really feel sorry for them. They are lonely and ill minded, and they call us mean spirited bloggers.

  17. Any one who is in the miltary is doing it for a paycheck just like the guy or girl who is putting in 40 hours a week to make ends meat. And to prove I ask how many men in the military are doing it for free. Thats right they get a paycheck. So lets give everyone 10% discount.

  18. I get so angry sometimes.
Another case of someone trying to do a GOOD thing but it's not good enough or it's not a good thing at all to some because they were not included. At the same time, those people are probably included in other instances where the groups included in this case were not. Instead of respecting what a local business is doing to help, they choose to trash it because they feel left out.
    Get a life.

I feel this is one of the BIG things wrong with our society anymore.

Doing GOOD things for others just doesn't seem to count anymore. It doesn't always have to be something huge.

These business owners are struggling just like most other businesses are at this time but they still chose to offer this discount. They didn't have to do it...but they did.

I've done for others all of my adult life and it truly seems that the more I try to do the more I get knocked down by others who have NO clue what it is to do for others....without any expectation of receiving anything in return but the good feeling I get inside for doing for others. That is why I continue doing it and take the hits. Those people will NOT break my spirit!

I would imagine that most of those I'm speaking of have never raised a hand to help someone else.
    That is truly a shame.

When things are tough, people need to dig down deep and work together and do whatever it takes to help themselves and their fellow man.

The holiday season is the perfect time to start for those of you who don't know what kindness for others is.

Go buy a new toy and donate it to toys for tots, go volunteer and ring the bell for salvation army, go serve food for the hungry, go help build a house for a family in need...etc...etc...etc.

It doesn't always cost you money to help others...there are many ways to help, and your help is surely needed!

If you do it right, I can assure you that you will have a good feeling inside during and afterwards and that will last for some time.

  19. Willards EMS

I have seen a few plump firemen in Willards also. Are you just jealous because you dont have any decent places to eat in your town? Go on up to Pittsville and give it a try

  20. This is what reading blogs do to people. A restaurant tries to do a good thing and suddenly it..."why aren't you including these people?" or "only 10%" or "so and so doesn't deserve that". Joe, I hope you are happy.

  21. anonymous 9:04,

Grow Up! Forst of all, I didn't post it. Not that I wouldn't have because I believe ANY savings off the regular price is a DEAL!

Let me tell you another thing. A person like you would probably go in there and eat inside while being served. Your TIP would probably be based on the SALE price and not on the regular price. Tightwad!

  22. Many convenience stores offer officers free coffee to add their presence to the store.

  23. If I owned a restaurant or bodega, damn skippy I would give cops free coffee-the more cops there is hanging around, the less likely some A-hole is going to get the notion of robbing me.
