Louise Smith - When Rules are for Everyone Else

While the rest of us were freezing our collective backsides off Sunday, Salisbury City Councilwoman Louise Smith sat in a nice, warm car.  That's OK.  Louise was never much of a "woman of the people" anyway.

One of the rules of the Salisbury Jaycees Christmas Parade is that participants can't throw candy or toys at the crowd.  It's actually a pretty good rule.  Would you want to see some child dive in front of a moving (albeit slowly) vehicle to snag a candy cane or trinket?

While people like Councilwomen Debbie Campbell and Terry Cohen were following the rules walking along the parade route handing out treats to the kids, Smith couldn't be bothered with little things like the rules or worries about children's safety.  It was just too nice and comfy in that car.

If you get a chance, check out the beginning of the parade when they show it on PAC-14.  You should be able to see Louise chuck a stuffed animal into the street and someone's child try to run in front of the trailing vehicle to snag it.  I'm sure Smith's excuse was -

"It's for the children."

Regardless of the foolish, and inconsiderate, behavior of a few clowns like "Little Miss 'Government in the Sunshine'", the Jaycees put together a great event under horrific conditions.  It was actually snowing before the start of the parade.  The wind was howling and the temperature was around freezing.  This was the first one that I've attended and it was great, despite the weather.

  3. It's not actually a Jaycee rule that you can't throw candy - it's a city ordinance!

What are the chances that Chief Webster will use video footage of the event to issue a citation?

  4. Did anyone see if Gary Comegys walked the parade?

  5. anonymous 1:34, he'd only do so if he had me on video.

anonymous 1:35, Comegys was also sitting inside a car.

So you ALL know, Rick Pollitt and John Cannon walked the Parade.

  6. Have you seen Louweasle on her latest PACl4 show -- she's not made for tv!!! And exactly how many shows does Barrie/City have on now--it's becoming a Barrie monopoly. Tom Stevenson now has a show, too.

And watch out for PAC14 folks filling the Council seats tonight--the call has gone out!

  9. That was Louise Smith ! I thought that was Linda Blair. My daughter kept asking why the lady's head was spinning around. Her daddy told her its because she changes her story so often and she doesn't want you to know who she is.

No, Barrie Comegys DID NOT walk. Those that did:

    Debbie Campbell
    Terry Cohen
    Rick Pollitt & John Cannon
    Stevie Prettyman

    and of course -

    Mike Lewis

I just did these in the order they appeared in the parade.

    FYI -
All members of County Council were in the parade. All members of City Council EXCEPT Shanie Shields.

  12. Louise thinks she's so hot! She thinks she is so intelligent. She is neither and she should be ashamed of herself trying to hold herself out as purveyor of the truth.

  13. Rumor has it Louise is going to resign the council because she is sick of it. Look for that seat to be emptied when Gary loses in April.

  15. The buzz when she took the Prez spot was that she was unstable and could be rocked easily. She has shown that to be true. Lets hope she at least gives up the Prez and maybe leaves.

  17. For the good of the city, here is how things go down next election:
    1. Jim Ireton is elected mayor.
    2. Debbie Campbell is re-elected.
    3. Someone good steps up to run and fills Shanie's seat.
    4. Louise and Gary run for cover.
    5. Debbie becomes President.
    6. Debbie, Terry, and new District 1 person appoint good replacements!

  18. Knowing Louise the stuff crap she threw out was probably made in China stuffed with asbestos or some lead colored stuffing.

During her campaign she lied to the firemen and the police, why should the taxpayers expect any better.

"Rumor has it Louise is going to resign the council because she is sick of it. "

I heard a rumor referencing the above statement--it goes like this:
Rumor has it that the majority of the city taxpayors who follow Louise's pathetic attempts at presiding over the council meetings are sick of her behavior and are anxiously awaiting her resignation.
If she chooses not to resign, then we anxiously await her defeat when her time is up.

  22. Nope...a little over two years. If she doesn't resign, RECALL LOUWEASEL!

She won't run again...she was in it for one term.

  24. The only reason she won was due to the lies she promised the fire department and the city police. I doubt they fall for that Buffalo loaf again.
