S.F.D # 2 is supposed to be ringing the bell on 12/20 from 3-9 at Wal Mart North, and they are not on there as well. 2:13 PM"
I have spoken with the Salvation Army and they have pulled together every single person working there and they are not aware Station 2 is willing to cover this shift. The fact that this was posted under anonymous, someone could be playing a game trying to commit this location into something they really didn't agree to.
That being said, IF Station 2 would be willing to fill in that gap, that would be fantastic. Please call 410-749-7771 ext. 100 and please let them know you truly want to do so.
Thanking You In Advance, Joe Albero
Come on fireman you guys are usually all over this blog. Its Christmas and we should all relax ourselves and our opinions for awhile. Everyone is hurting this year economically, but time is free.
ReplyDeleteTo me, most Firemen are heros! But some of our Firemen only consider themselves a Hero when they put out a fire. This Holiday Season and the Salvation Army needs Heros also! So...are you a Hero only when on duty or can you be a Hero without punching the time clock?
ReplyDeleteI'm a firefighter and I choose to volunteer my efforts with the United Way. Nothing personal, just my choice.
ReplyDeleteStation 2 members did cover both ends of Wal Mart on 11/29/08 3 pm to 9 pm. WE also agreed to cover Sams Club on 12/20/08 3 PM to 9 PM . These times were committed to over 4 weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteComment to 4:57 pm The members covering on 11/29/08 were members of St2 volunteers ,so no clocks were punched and yes they are Heros and are always on duty. They were more than happy to help.
i am not affiliated with station 2 however i am a firemen in the county. Why is it a big deal for them to volunteer their time for the Salvation Army? They are volunteering their time 365 days a year, thats great you all want to donate your time from Thanksgiving to Christmas. However that is only 30 days out of the year, we dontate ten times the amount of days. Every call takes us away from whatever we were doing, family, work, or whatever. So forgive me if i don't go running out to ring a bell. I do however always donate to the Salvation Army.
ReplyDeleteThe firefighters from Station 2 are panning to be at Walmart on December 20, 2008 from 3 PM to 9 PM. The Delmar FD will also be there. I guess our chairman need to check with the Salvation Army to confirm this. Chief See's office was coordinating this I believe. We are still coming and we hope to see others too. Thanks Joe.
ReplyDeleteCookie Monster,
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you ust let Delmar do their own thing on that date and see if there aren't any open spots somewhere else. Obviously from what I read the Salvation Army never got a call from See or Station 2 but now you're coming back and saying you're supposed to be with Delmar. Delmar can handle their shift all by themselves. You made the commitment by bragging you were going to be out there ringing the bell, do it on your own time. They don't need 20 guys standing out there blocking the doorway getting into the store.

Huh? I have been a firefighter in Salisbury for over 25 years and I don't know of anyone that volunteers their efforts with the United Way. The only thing the United Way does is a small payroll deduction witch ;-) is pushed by the mare for her own agenda.
Firefighter 6:47pm please let us know how you volunteer so that we don't all think you are a liar!!

True, not only do they need them blocking the door, wher do you think they would be parking the firetruck? Blocking the Fire Lane.
LMAO! I knew someone was screwing with the Fire Department. It's probably JR off his pills again.
ReplyDeleteChill out everyone! It turns out Delmar & Station 2 are covering the entire day as a tag team. I have asked the Salvation Army to make the changes to the schedule the next time we post a new one to add Station 2 to that date. Thank You Station 2 and Delmar Fire Department!!!!!! Joe
ReplyDeleteWhere'd I say I was a Salisbury Firefighter?
ReplyDeleteNot surprising, coming from a typical Salisbury Firefighter, who can't effin read.
To the Anon calling out the guy for volunteering with the United Way:
ReplyDeleteSuffer from A.D.D much?
