"Office of the President-Elect”

"Office of the President-Elect”??? Since when? Have you ever heard of this? www.change.gov is the official website of this new offfice.

Is it just me or does this seem to be beyond presumputious?

And did you check out the Great Seal?

According to 18 USC Sec. 713:

18 USC Sec. 713 …
(a) Whoever knowingly displays any printed or other likeness of the great seal of the United States, or of the seals of the President or the Vice President of the United States, or the seal of the United States Senate, or the seal of the United States House of Representatives, or the seal of the United States Congress, or any facsimile thereof, in, or in connection with, any advertisement, poster, circular, book, pamphlet, or other publication, public meeting, play, motion picture, telecast, or other production, or on any building, monument, or stationery, for the purpose of conveying, or in a manner reasonably calculated to convey, a false impression of sponsorship or approval by the Government of the United States or by any department, agency, or instrumentality thereof, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.

I think he a little more than 'One Toe' over the line.

  1. You need to get over it, Wymzie.
He's been elected by a MAJORITY of the population, and is our President Elect.
Even Fox News has accepted this as fact.

  2. Now at all our expense we get to watch him fall flat on his liberal non-experienced ass.

  4. Anon 8:56,
What kind of leadership experience did YOUR candidate have? He was, at best, one of 100 Senators...I've never heard of him chairing a Senate committee of any importance...he crashed at least 3 government planes...
At the very least, he hasn't been sitting around for twenty plus years collecting a senator's salary and waiting for "his turn" to be president. Sometimes no experience is better than bad experience.

  5. It's a government website (note the .gov in the URL). What's your point?

  6. I dont know about the rest of the consewrvatives on this site, but I plan to give the president elect the same courtesy and respect that the liberals gave President Bush. NONE

  10. Provided by Obama Shrugged.com

the “Office of the President Elect” is the invention of the Obama-Biden Transition Project, a 501c(4) organization. This private organization is overseen by three co-chairs selected by Obama, and is staffed by non-government employees. So, if this is a private organization, how did it get the .gov domain name? That’s a great question.

The GSA oversees the .gov domain and is pretty specific about who can get these domains:

Registrations that qualify for a .gov domain

    * U.S. Governmental departments, programs, and agencies on the federal level
    * Federally recognized Indian Tribes (-NSN.gov domain)
    * State governmental entities/programs
    * Cities and townships represented by an elected body of officials
    * Counties and parishes represented by an elected body of officials
    * U.S. territories

It’s clear that based on these requirements, there is simply no reason that the private Obama-Biden Transition Project should have been issued this domain name - but that’s not the most concerning part.

The Obama-Biden Transition Project is an extension of the Obama campaign, and there are several problems with their .gov website:

    1. It features a fictitious government agency name and seal
    2. It features campaign material including attacks on the McCain plan
    3. The site collects email addresses under the guise of official government business
    4. The site itself is hosted by Blue State Digital, the very firm that is responsible for providing his suspect online fundraising tools and methods!

    Several questions now emerge:

    * How did the Obama-Biden Transition Project get the .gov domain name if it is not a government agency?
    * Why does the Obama campaign use what appears to be a fictitious title of office and corresponding seal (which actually appears to be based on the Great Seal of the United States)?
    * Where do the email addresses collected on the change.gov site go and for what purpose are they collected?

  12. Did you ever think that Obama may be doing the right thing? Instead of waiting until he officially takes office, I think he's being proactive so that the transition can be implemented smoothly and issues can be faced immediately. It's not presumption, it's preparation. Do you want a leader that shows no preparation in the face of the turmoil our country is in?

As far as liberals not giving Bush the respect, I did not vote for him either time, but supported his actions during the Trade Center attack and during the invasion of Iraq. It wasn't until more facts came out about that invasion and the seemingly senseless deaths of thousands (Troops and citizens of Iraq) that I questioned his leadership.

  13. anon 9;04 at least he was fighting for our country instead of bashing it like you winney ass liberals do.

  14. If you are going to whine about this little thing, what is ging to happen when something important comes along?

Stop looking for things to cry about and help this country get back on track.

  15. Well-written, 11:28! President-elect Obama needs to have his team ready to roll at noon Jan. 20. With the mandate given to him on Tuesday, he in excellent position to choose his administration carefully. I have been reading a few analyses of the Clinton transition, which apparently didn't go well. Obama certainly doesn't want to repeat that mistake. With about 75 days before being sworn in, he has ample opportunity to be off and running. I did not vote for him, nor have I ever voted for a Democrat for President since I first voted (for Goldwater) , but I surely will support him. He is our President, like it or not .

  16. You think its by accident that russia surfaced their nuclear powered sub this morning, read into it people. Where was the sub,(Chavez land) What was it doing there in our hemisphere, anything it wanted while we played politics like it was american idol. The preident elect Obama has no ideal how to govern a nation. He has ideal what hes playing with. It takes more than a well funded campaign to get my respect. hold on tight because we havent seen anything yet.

    ReplyDelete
  17. 9:04 -- You're very ignorant. He "crashed" three government planes? That's an insult to his service and the service of many Americans. Not even worthy of a proper response on what really happened, as your statement is just scum.

"At the very least, he hasn't been sitting around for twenty plus years collecting a senator's salary and waiting for "his turn" to be president."
McCain tried to become president eight years ago and who knows where our country would be today if that had happened.

McCain may not have won the election but he is still a great man and a great leader that deserves the respect of the American people, especially if conservatives are supposed to respect Obama as President.

  18. Wymzie, for pete's sake, let it go.

Obama is very, very publicly on record saying he is NOT the president YET, that the U.S. has ONE government and ONE president, and that current president is BUSH.

He promised change and is going about a very public and methodical transition, and Bush has pledged the White House's cooperation in making it smooth. If Obama did things same-old-same-old, you'd be hollerin' about that.

Give peace a chance, and the president-elect more than five days to come up to your standards.

All you're doing is keeping anger aflame. Hasn't this country had enough of that?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Obama talked the talk now he has to walk the walk. It doesn't matter what we say anymore as we are going to be run by the government.

    ReplyDelete
  20. 12:26. while I don't agree with bashing McCain, he did crash planes while not on a mission.

Those closest to McCain during her service years described him as "arrogant and reckless."

So 9:04's comment on that was correct.

I think everyone needs to take another collective breath. Don't throw salt in the wounds of either side. We are facing the worst of economic times, and we need to pull together.

As for the person who said Obama has yet to earn his respect, Obama said he'd be your president and work to earn it. I have rarely ever heard that from any pol, so I give him credit and will give him a chance. Are you willing to do THAT much at least?

    ReplyDelete
  21. you know i didnt vote for Obama nor do i agree with his views on issues however i must say this....this country must unite and become one if we ever want to get this country back up on its feet. McCain isnt in the picture now so the attacks on him need to stop, it gets us NOwhere. My personal opinion of Obama doesnt really matter, its the job that he will do for us and this country. Lets all pray that he does a great job in office since the majority of peoples in this country voted for him to give him the job. Lets wait and see what happens. Pray pray pray. Prayer can change a persons thinking and ways. Lets pray that God gets in control and makes good things happen.

  27. Yesterday in conversation someone told me they were still in disbelief that we finally had elected a black President-I was forced to correct him and remind him that we have elected our first BIRACIAL President. Why can't the news media and everyone else for that matter get that straight?
As far as "having our way for 300 years",not all of us have!I am a white female and until 1920,we were not allowed to vote at all!Black people are NOT the only minority that has been put upon in this world. If you do not believe me,then I suggest you Google "Trail of Tears" or "Nazi Holocaust" and learn a few things.
    Wymzie,as always,great post!

  28. Some of you seem to think the President of the United States is a powerful person. The people who chose him have all of the power. If he doesn't do what they wish, what will happen to him? Does anyone know the answer to this question?

And the people with that power are obviously stupid.

For all of you racists that don't want to accept the fact that Obama is black you're kidding yourselves. Yes one of his parents is white, but he is still black. There are not too many "blacks" that don't have at least one white person somewhere in their family tree. He certainly would have been considered black in the segregated South.

I'll bet you'd consider him black if your daughter brought him home for dinner.

  35. Why can't some people get past this black/white thing? Yes, white poeple are tired of hearing how they owe black people. Blacks are tired of feeling that whites think they are above them. Some white people need to get over Obama's skin color, Some black people need to stop beating the dead horse of "blacks are suppressed". Obama is calling for change..change that the majority of Americans voted for...so NOW is the time for ALL people to CHANGE the way they think about color and status. Color is only skin deep..the inside counts...Obama now gets to show us what he is made up of; the pigment of his skin should be the least of anyone's worry.

Hate to bust your little bubble there, but my stepdaughter is engaged to and pregnant by ....drum roll please.....a biracial(black & white) guy.Does he look black?Yes-do I care?NO!
And yes they BOTH are here almost every Sunday for dinner and football so there goes your theory. In fact,we are very close to them because her mother and stepfather cannot accept it(their problem!)Their child will be my husbands first grandchild and I will be the best Gramma to that kid I can be to that baby.
Obama is BIRACIAL and black and white racists alike need to deal with it because there are more and more biracial children now than ever and any child has enough to overcome in this world without being forced to "choose" a race.
My only biological child is almost 5 and she does not discriminate because we have not taught her to.She could grow up and bring home a black girl or guy and I would still love her and support her as long as she was happy.

And as far as the guy who said"he would shoot them both"......wow is all I can say....starch your sheet before you wear it again, brother.

  39. Tyree....why do you come on this blog and search for something that obviously hurts you? Some people hate..PERIOD. Some whites hate, some blacks hate. It is the world we live in. I am not condoning anyone's behaviour. But, by reacting the way you do, it only fuels their fire. Step above the ignorance that is in this world. Obviously, it is not the majority of American citizens that feel the way that some on this blog do. Rise above the haters, don't become one of them. Is that not what Obama is calling for? CHANGE..not just in government..in attitudes as well.

  40. Hello!!!
The entire point of my article has been missed!!!!!

It is not about Obama being black or not.

It is about presumption. It is about cloaking oneself in an official office that does not exist.
It is about getting a .gov url and not being in the gov yet.
    Stop it!
Read the article and the links for what they are.
No other President - Elect in history has done this, and I like others find it highly inappropriate.
One thing is for sure about the things that I post... you can take them as they are written.
I don't say one thing and mean another...I'm just not that deep.

  41. I think it's funny that all the liberals who didn't give Bush one secind to breathe now want every American to support their candidate and give him a chance. They didn't give Bush a chance. They jumped on the liberal bash the President for everything and brainwash the people about how bad he is.

Keep on the subject like the author states. Do the research and simply ask if this was a violation. It has nothing to do with the personal aspect of the candidate. It could be any elected president. Facts are facts and if he is willing to break the rules before even being sworn in, we should be suspect of what he will do while in office. This is no different from a fireman pretending to be a cop.
