Motor Vehicle Wreck At Salisbury Mall

"Look, 2 police, 2 ambulances, 1 fire truck to take care of a 2 car accident at
the mall. Only 1 person taken in ambulance.

Sorry or the low quality cell phone pic"

  1. How is that an over response? You're clueless as usual.

  2. In Pittsville, you would have had 1 fire truck, 1 rescue truck, 2 ambulances, 1 command unit, 2 traffic control units, and oddles of police and personal vehicles.

    IDIOTS!

  3. if someone can answer my question:

when a MVC happens in a "parking lot", as in this one, is anyone get charged? and is it considered no fault and each party fix there one or what?

  4. Hey 2:41, What's oddles? U R real S-M-R-T!

  5. 2 police units = traffic control and accident investigation

2 ambulances = capacity to transport patients from the 2 vehicles involved

1 fire engine = crew to assist EMS, and to mitigate any scene hazards such as fire or fluid spills

This is a standard dispatch for this type of incident.

Once again Joe, you are clueless as to the normal standard operating procedures of the fire and EMS services.

I am willing to bet that this would be no problem if it were you or your family involved in this incident.

It must be a really slow news day to waste your time with this.

    Get a f------ grip!!!

  6. anonymous 3:16,

Slow news day? Perhaps you're completely blind. The first thing you should do is recognize the quotations on the Post. The entire thing was sent in by a reader.

It's a shame some Firefighters go on the attack thinking every one is against them.

By the way, how is the INJURED person doing, or don't you care? Maybe next time you'll come on here and fill everyone in.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Hey 2:41........You are correct on the Pittsville response except for one thing.

The ambulances would not have gotten out of the firehouse until the Parsonsburg crew arrived to staff them. God bless them for the service that they provide to our community.

EMS is not a priority in Pittsville!!!!!

  8. Hey Joe,

In reference to your comment that was aimed at 3:16, I ask you but one thing: Did You post it?

The answer is obvious, you did post it. Therefore, you attacked the firefighters once again. I think that it would be good for you to spend some more time with some of the county departments to help you to understand how and why things are done the way that they are.

A little education wouldn't hurt you, and might help to stop the negativity that you constantly dish out to the area fire departments.

We all know that the City of Salisbury is all screwed up due to the mare and her cronies. But you seem to take it out on all of the fire companies in the county.

You have the power through your website to show the positive things that these unsung heroes do for us every day. They are always there for us when we need them. And they do it on their own time for free. Why don't you try that approach?

Treat them nice Joe, you may need them one day.

  9. 2:50,

last spring a guy ran a stop sign in a parking lot and hit my van, he was charged w/ the violation and his insurance covered damages to my vehicle.

  10. It looks like the accident is on the road on the side where the movie theater is. I used to work for the management company at the mall. If it is on the loop around the mall, that road is actually a city road and not part of the mall at all.

  11. Joe, nowhere do you say that this was sent in by a reader. There are some pictures, some comments and your name next to posted by.

If anyone would like to increase their knowledge about fire department standard operating procedures, or protocols, or any other instruction about what and when to respond, just join your local fire company. The training you receive will help you understand why things happen, and you'll be providing a great service toyour community.

  12. Joe in your 3:23 post/reply you asked the ff to come on here and let everyone know how the driver was doing.

Well thats not their job to let you know how they are doing. Really its none of your business on how their doing.

The ff can not speak on conditions of patients. You ever hear of HIPPA?

    Did'nt think so!

OMG Not again...yada, yada, yada we are heros and you all owe us for life...the reason you do it for free is because hopefully one day you can do it and get paid for....

You would run like hell and you know it, so cut the hero shit, you do it because it is fun to you! Remember when you were little and your mom bought you a shiny red fire truck? 19. My Great Grandfather, my Grandfather and my Father would all be rolling in their graves if they could just see how things work now. My Great Grandfather, was retired when I was a child but he was once the Mayor of Salisbury. My Grandfather was Fire Chief and my Father was Deputy Chief. I come from a long line of fire fighters. My Uncle and when the other genreations, passed on, even my brother in-law joined as a Paramedic. This was long ago and I refuse to post their names so I won't see anyone trash them because I am sure, even back then, not everyone got along perfect. Some of my best memories were after Church, every Sunday morning, I was taken to the Fire House, across from the Library, and was able to get a Coke for 10 cents and a snack from the machine for 15 cents. That's how my Grand Father and Father kept tabs in case anything happened while we were in Church. No cell phones back then but in the event of an emergency, someone would call the Church. Otherwise, for a long time as a child, I thought they lived there a lot...lol Our favorite night of the week was Friday because thats when we had steak! I'll never forget the night that Dad came home and refused to eat. It was his favorite. When I was older, he finally answered my question..was he sick? He said..Yes honey, we responded to a bad fire and a family was lost. I said..children? He said..yes, and It will take a long time for me to get the charred bodies out of my mind. It was years before he finally ate steak again. May sound gross to some but in my eyes, it made my Dad even a bigger hero in my eyes and not JUST a Fireman. He always came to my school for Fire Prevention Week dressed in full uniform. Later on, when the fire monitor's came out, I finally got used to hearing the beeps and the call for assistance but was strange to hear a man's voice pop out of no where. Again, to prove how long ago this was, I was old enough to assist the wonderful ladies of the auxliary serve coffee when the old Civic Center burned down. I highly respect all Fireman and as much as I hope to never have to call them, I KNOW they will be here for me!
I apologise for this being so long but after reading many posts in the past, I felt it was high time that someone stood up for them!

  21. In regards to Pittsville EMS, they are all a joke anyways, they have proved that.

Why don't they just give up EMS and go back to the way is used to be, Willards and Parsonsburg answering ambulance calls in Pittsville.

  24. Yes..back in the old days when Firemen, Fire Volunteers and Police Officers were treated with respect! Trust me, back then, anyone and everyone knew your Mom and Dad and if you got caught doing something wrong, you got a whooping. I'll never forget the worst 6 words a child could hear back then.
Wait until your Father/Mother gets home...lol

What happened to Bill Gordo's Hooters girlfriend in Indianapolis? Does anyone remember her name?

  27. Can someone tell me exactly why a fire truck needs to be dispatched and every car accident with injuries? The excuses some have put on here just don't cut it for me. This has got to be the biggest waste of money just for job security for the paid firemen.

    ReplyDelete
  28. ok so this accident occured on ring rd, which is city property. The lady in the white suv was charged with the violation. The young lady in the covertable is pregnant and due in two weeks on dec 12th. the response was great due to the fact that they were there fast and probably without the information needed about the victims. people should chill out on the fire dept. i know these facts because the pregnant girl is my girlfriend

  29. As so often happens on this blog, a few true jealous assh**** want to bash the fire service for a few bad examples. It is obvious it really is just a few, their language is always the same. Joe, I am a loyal reader, you provide some good news, but I will never agree with your negative attitude in general toward the fireman that either you degrade, or promote to get degraded. Sure, is Chief See and Gordo a joke, no doubt......... but please, look at the big picture. MANY in the fire service got into it for the satisfaction of helping someone, yes many also chose it for their career. After all the insults, arguments etc., one thing still remains, for Joe and the few that bash us constantly, WHEN, not IF you need us, we will still be there. Joe, I really hope you post this. Still honest, still a Fireman, and still your friend.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Sounds like damage control to me!

Look at all the words like standard procedure and protocol. Does that mean it is the right thing to do to send a fire truck on car accidents and ambulance calls? NO!!! Job security for paid farmin!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I am a close personal friend of the pregnant girl involved in the accident. She was released last night and thankfully her and her unborn child are doing fine but she does have to go back to the hospital tomorrow for another check-up. I can't speak for the condition of the person in the SUV, who was at fault, by the way.

The response was great and until you have been in an accident or associated with someone involved, reserve your judgement. I would rather there be more than enough qualified people on the scene than not.

Which one of the Three Fat Stooges do you think this is Sea, Gordo or Fatso Hoppes. My guess is Fatso.

What language for a tax paying public safety official. Are these the people you want going into your homes during your emergency?

You gave me a good laugh on that one! #1 I am a female and I don't work with the Fire Department. I have a VERY GOOD paying job that does not involve getting paid to sleep and play! The SAD part is, I get paid a lot more than a Fire Fighter does and they put their lives on the line every time they suit up. You sound like a Fire Department reject.I hope you saved your little trucks..go play with them you little wannabe!

  40. Anon 4:37 did NOT write the original post in question! I did and am not affiliated with the Fire Department in any way. Maybe I should skip Thanksgiving dinner and go there myself to see if this

I am aprox. 4'8, female, and if you DO go there looking to punch someone's light's out, do us both a favor and bring your lawyer with you. You easternshore MD rednecks always want to fight, or are always assuming that someone wants to fight you. Your really all the same, its funny as shit to read all your garbage. Bashing firemen? Thats awesome.

Anonymous rejects can post anything they want and some people do this just for fun to anger others. I swear that after reading how nasty these comments get EMS must be responding to homes for chest pain and breathing difficulties. Chill out and take everything with a HUGE grain of salt.
