How About That Muir Boda

Not long after Mrs. Debbie Campbell announced her run for Re-Election in District 2 for Salisbury City Council, out of nowhere comes a man named Muir Boda stepping up to plate to challenge her seat.

OK, let me start with this. I have NEVER seen this man ANYWHERE. He has never come to a Council Meeting and he's a Wireless Department Manager at WalMart. Last go around it was a Pizza Delivery Man running for Mayor and now someone from WalMart, (both honorable jobs, mind you) want to tell us how to manage millions upon millions of the City's money.

I'll assume the Daily Times asked decent questions about what background this man has. You see, with a ton of experience and wisdom to replace Mrs. Campbell. about his experience. If they did their job, they certainly had nothing to tell us in their article though.

"I'm really concerned about taxes and spending" Boda said in the Daily Times article. Duh, if you're going to challenge Debbie Campbell, are you suggesting she doesn't care about those issues? Are you stating she hasn't represented her constituents her District 2 over those issues?

Usually when someone challenges an incumbent, they're doing so because they're not pleased with their performance. Nevertheless, this is certainly his right to do so but I still expect Lynn or Don Cathcart to throw in their names into this race as well.

Boda also stated that in preparation for March's primary he is setting up a Bank account and a website. Allrighty then. Preparation, (to me) would be visiting Council Meetings, meeting Department Heads and requesting as much information as possible to get a novice up to speed. That is, if he really wants to consider himself a challenge.

  2. Joe:

Since Barrie won't let the department heads speak with Ms. Campbell, they should not be permitted to talk with candidates running against her. Please find out what that situation is.

  3. No one should run for office uncontested. It's up to the voters to decide the most qualified candidate. Please don't shame someone, no matter how qualified, from running for office.

  4. Joe, why are you belitteling these people? Just because you don't see them at the round city circus doesn't negate their right to run for office or their knowledge of what's going on.

  7. When I read about Boda in the Daily Times and they didn't have any information about this man's background or qualifications for office, I went on the Internet and downloaded an entire file folder of information on him. I only found one item on him that said he even had the slightest interest in anything political. I didn't find any information that he knew anything about municipal laws, handling large budgets, or had even been to a City Council meeting. He used to be a mechanic in Hebron according to one old piece of information I found on him. He's going to have to step up to the plate and show us what he's got to even stand a chance against Campbell.

Looks like Muir Boda will work well with Bubba Comegys, "R. Necks Mare" -- they can discuss have to avoid creditors and the blessing of bankruptcy.

  15. Can anyone explain exactly what qualified Debbie Campbell, Terry Cohen and Shanie Shields? I'm just wondering. If you're going to question this mans qualifications, let's be clear as to what qualified the ones already in office. Thank you.

  16. There used to be a patent medicine with that name that they shilled on the Grand Old Opry back in the 1950's. It's called viagra today!

  17. I'd be happy to start off answering that question. Very simply put, community service. Debbie & Terry not only attended Council Meetings regularly, they were involved in many community service programs and were VERY well known by name well before any election came about. Again, who is this guy and why do you feel he's qualified to challenge Debbie Campbell? It is certainly his right but he's not qualified, IMHO.

If you have to ask that about Ms. Campbell or Ms. Cohen, you either are new to town or an imbicile -- which is it? Or are you Barrie Tilghman, Lynn Cathcart or Mike Dunn?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hey I'm just asking. If that's what qualifies one to run for City Council, then so be it. Perhaps there should be a description posted somewhere of who would qualifiy.

New or an imbicile huh? Pretty defensive there aren't you madame? Nope, not either of the folks you accuse me of being either.

  20. Sorry Joe...I never said I felt he was qualified. I'm just curious as to what your views are on qualifications. Can one not keep abreast of City Council meetings at home? Does one have to be there in person? He could very well keep up with things on PAC14 couldn't he?

Go ahead anon 12:13, get your panties in a wad. AGAIN.

  21. Again, who is this guy. As screwed up as the City of Salisbury is, do you really think someone who has no experience and REPUTATION has a chance of winning anything around here?

I want people whyo have a LOT to lose if they are chosen and screw things up even more.

Sure, you could sit back and watch PAC 14 in WalMart and get up to speed in between Customers during your busiest shopping hours.

I guess you could listen to WICO while you're selling cars or delivering Pizza too, like Delapino.

Let's stop all the bullsh!t and quit kidding one and other.

  23. Lets stop throwing stones at this Boda guy, Have the Daily Times do a decent interview, or the candidates can have debates. Isn't that what PAC 14 is for?

Joe, with your track record of endorsing candidates so far, I am not sure Debbie would welcome your endorsement!! LOL

  25. What does Debbie Campbell do for a living? I never really understood. Joe, could you tell us? I heard it was something with housing. Her bio is not on her website, just a lot about her ancestors. Could you also find out about her education. Thanks.

  26. Pick up the phone and cal her or send her an e-mail. I am NOT a service at your disposal to obtain whatever information you so desire.

  27. Good point Joe! It is up to the candidates and the media to give us information. Lets ask Mrs. Campbell and Mr. Boda to both post their bios on their respective websites. As I stated yesterday<, PAC 14 is a public TV station. Should we not have the candidateds have a debate ( about the issues) in a public forum

  28. Joe:

What gives you the right to Judge Mr. Boda because he wants to run for City Council, The way I see it in this World everyone is equal and everyone has equal opportunity, so don't judge someone on their qualifiacations, because maybe it is you who needs to take a long hard look at yourself!!!
