  1. One can only hope that Gannett will have enough sense to lay of the Bassettman.

They could use the salary wasted on him and Sayler to fund the salaries of the real workers at the DD.

Did anyone read the self serving article by Sayler in today's DD. Thought I was going to gag!

  3. Joe, very classy that you continue to rejoice and gloat over hardworking Americans losing their jobs.

  4. I agree not very classy to gloat over people loosing their jobs.

It will be interesting to see if anyone does contact you. Is your salary to them going to be comparable to what they were making, what about insurance, life insurance and 401K. Maybe other people who are out of work should contact you as well?!?!

I guess with this advertising you are talking about you will be able to afford it?

  5. Shanie gonna be in twouble, she can't collect unemployment cause she got a job and health benefits with da city, hopefully she will choose an entitlement program and give up the council seat? I'd much rather pay her welfare for doing nothing than having to live with another bobble head for barrie. Basically she's paid to do nothing now except follow Bubba's lead.

  6. I'm sitting here ROFLMFAO what the hell are you thinking? People that have a 401K invested in Gannett stock that they have lost over 66% of their retirement in the last year. Give me a break. I hope the long time employee they fired a couple months ago was smart enough to cash out at that time instead of getting another screwing months after he'd been fired. How big is the fat cat's bonuses?

  7. The Daily Times will be around long after you are gone.--perhaps not in print, as all newspapers are movi ng to the net. Still, they will be around long after you are gone. Papers are suffering all the country. Any fool knows that. Some of the major papers have stocks that are much lower than the Times. The Christian Science Monitor just announced that in April 2009 it will only be available on line.

  8. The downside to that is the fact that by the time the paper makes this move and change the format to all online there will be hundreds of other blogs to choose from. Don't count your chickens before they hatch. Actually you could say their primary format (the paper) is antiquated already, they just sunk a bunch of money on a new press? They are way behind. Also after the change Gannett can then cut their employees by better than 50%. You go Buddy.
