Citizenship Issue on MSNBC

On Dec 5 the Supreme Court will either allow or disallow the usurpation of both the Constitution and the Government of the United States — easily the most pivotal decision since our nation’s founding — and the silence of the news media is deafening (if not downright scary).

Sent in by a loyal reader.

  1. If the Supreme Court disallows it, then by OUR system of government, the HIGHEST court in the land has deemed it NOT an usurption.

Deal with it, unless the loyal reader has become CONSTITUTIONALLY the Great Arbiter of What's Constitutional.

  2. What a mess! Why did this come out after the election? What the hell were the GOP doing? Let Pelosi be President.

  3. The Main Stream Media (MSM) just ignored this issue and hoped it would go away.

The Obama supporters keep claiming that this has been dealt with and to get over it.

The issue has not been dealt with and now the most liberal of media outlets MSNBC has it as a front page item, gives the issue credibility.

The McCain people were very aware of this, but Senator McCain is a gentleman and did not harp on the issue.

Now the USA has a "Constitutional Crisis" where a man who may not be qualified to hold office, has clearly won the general election.

The Democractic central committee either did not do its job in "vetting the candidates" or simply chose to ignore it.

Obama supporters are using the race card and shouting about "right wing extremists" because a copy of a birth certificate has been posted on a few private websites.

The Federal Election Commission and/or the US Supreme Court are the only entitied who can certify, beyond a shadow of a reasonable doubt that Sentator Obama is qualified to take the oath of office next January.

If he is not, then the race card will be played again with the threat of temper tantrum race riots around the country.

The issue needs to be settled right away.

  8. 3:42, with your simplistic "Sore losers" comment, it appears that you are willing to overlook the very clear provisions of the Constitution. There appears to be no question that Mr. Obama is not Constitutionally qualified to be President. It also appears that he has known all along that he is not qualified and hoped the the issue would go away. Now his supporters and to play the race card! He either is or is not a citizen of the US. It is too bad, as "Bosshogg" says, that we now have this crisis after the election. The Obama people are hoping that, because we've held the election and Obama is choosing his cabinet and doing all the things necessary to take over the Presidency, the birth issue can be overlooked. Hopefully, the Supreme Court, with the 5-4 split that it has, will rule against Obama, just as it did Gore in 2000. What effect this will have on the country is still speculative, though I bet things will not be pretty.

Do I beleive that the Democrats and the MSMs, would lie and cover up the truth? Yes.

Will this haunt Obama during his presidency? Probabaly.

Anon 358 sure as the sun rises in the east you are one of the sheeple. You didn't pay attention during the entire campaign process. John McCain was in fact asked to produce his documents. It is a well known fact that John McCain was born to American citizens in Panama on a US Military installation. Obama is the only one with more excuses for not producing his birth certificate than Carter has liver pills.

If you are going to make a comment at least give the appearance that you did pay attention.

  19. Nate,

We do not have a Black Man in the White House! We have mixed man going in the white house, White and Black! I know you hate to hear that, but it is fact. He is just as much White as he is Black.

  20. "Jason S," you are partially correct that grammatical errors should be separated for the issues that are discussed in this forum. However, intelligent people by and large know how to use the language correctly. The opinions of people who write or speak in an illiterate manner are, rightfully or wrongly, not as seriously considered. We tend to give much more weight to the judgments of those who have learned "the King's English." Why do so many of this blog's readers tend to dismiss what Shanie Shields has to say? Correctness is important if you want your opinions to be valued. I do agree, though, that correcting one's use of "your" vs. "you're" in a serious discussion of issues does not have its place.

  21. I hope Mr. Obama is eligible to be president. If he is not, of course the Supreme Court should disqualify and jail him for subverting the election and constitution. I honestly have to believe the powerful political machines in the primaries and general election would have discovered and exposed him if he were inelegible.

Nate is an ignorant racist! I'm proud that our nation voted a black man to the presidency. But no one, regardless of race, should be allowed the office if they are constitutionally ineligible! How could someone who subverted the constitution to become president be trusted to protect and defend that same constitution?
If Obama put us through this election knowing he was constitutionally disqualified,
he is a disgrace to his race...the human race! If he does meet constitutional requirements, leave him alone and let him do his job.

If he doesn't meet constitutional requirements, shame on him and the Democratic Party for pulling unconscionable bullshit.

Again, I sincerely hope Mr. Obama is constitutionally qualified to be president. What a mess it would be if the Supreme Court finds he isn't. But it is a mess we would have to clean up.

  22. For one if anyone wants to be technical everyone in this country is an immigrant except for the indians whose land was taken over, and by our dumb a** society Obama is Black because that is what has been said you have a drop of black blood in your system you are. I hope everyone who has blogged and kept a close eye on the election and have heard of all the violence going on can see that America has a lot of issues and a lot of growing up to do, and then people wonder why are kids are the way they are look at the parents.

  23. This is not accurate.

The Supreme Court has scheduled the lawsuit for a conference with the 9 justices.

A conference is not where cases are decided. All that happens there is the justices decide whether or not a case SHOULD be heard. Neither side makes arguments, no evidence is introduced etc.

And this conference is not just about this suit, the Obama suit is just one out of hundreds that will be discussed to determine whether or not to hear oral arguments.

  24. you jus cant get over it. thats right you got a black man in the white house.

Play the race card when race is *NOT* the issue.

Every decent American would be proud to have a qualified black man or woman in the Oval office.

why does the main stream media keep ignoring the fact that Hillary Clinton, our potential next Secretary of State killed Vince Foster.

Old news talking about Mena and all the conspiracy's is not going to change a thing.

Ken Starr and $40 million dollars did not find a thing.

That one is truly a dead horse, but its always interesting to see and old conspiracy pop up now and then.

By the way, did any one see where obama has said he has a problem with giving up his trusty black berry cell phone ? I got a bad feeling about this guy. Mark these words, obama's gonna be caught sharing top secret info with others.

Anyone with $1,500 and a little technical know how will be able to eavesdrop on a Blackberry.

You can bet the President will have one with better than military grade encryption and his staff will too.

Using technology in the White House is a change I can embrace.

It seems mighty suspicous that people want to know everything about one person but not the other. What are they scared of?

Senator Obama WON by an overwhelming majority, so questioning the "Other guys" is a waste of time.

The public does not want to "know everything" like the media did to Sarah Palin. The public wants to know if the man meets the minimum qualifications in section 2.1 of the Constitution.

I hope Mr. Obama is eligible to be president. If he is not, of course the Supreme Court should disqualify and jail him for subverting the election and constitution.

I hope he is eligbale, but if he is found not eligable, being denied office and living with that would be a lifetime prison without bars.

Exposure would be bad enough and jail is simply out of the question for a man who actually won the election.

If Obama put us through this election knowing he was constitutionally disqualified,
he is a disgrace to his race...the human race! If he does meet constitutional requirements, leave him alone and let him do his job.

  25. nate, I bet you try to use the race card every chance you get. David, Obama has an ounce of black blood and an ounce of white blood that makes him mixed. The fact is it doesn't matter what blood he has. What matters is his documents.

  26. BossHogg, you said...

"The McCain people were very aware of this, but Senator McCain is a gentleman and did not harp on the issue."

If there is a real Constitutional crisis here (which I don't believe is the case), then McCain had a responsibility to harp on it, gentleman or not. If he chose not to because it would have been politically harmful to his campaign, then it is good he wasn't elected.

This is another straw man and red herring. The State of Hawaii's director in charge of these records has stated Obama is on record as a birth in the state. The rumor about being born in Kenya is based on "unidentified witnesses."

The director of Hawaii's department overseeing these records gets my nod over "unidentified witnesses" any day.

The intent of the Constitutional article is to prevent foreign interests from running the country. Barack Obama has shown that he is American, through and through.

The founding fathers who became president, while birthed on North American soil, were NOT born on "United States soil" because the country did not exist at the time of their birth. So Constitutionally speaking, they would have been ineligible as British-born.

My bet is, the case will be tossed for the same reasons it was tossed by federal courts.

In the event something were to happen that Obama were to not take the oath, Joe Biden would be sworn in as V.P., then sworn in as President, and would then select his veep.

No Constitutional crisis here, just alarmist bell ringing.

    ReplyDelete
  27. David seems to be really confused.
David, have you ever read and studied our wonderful Constitution in its entirety? If not, you are just babbling about things of which you have no understanding!

First, I consider Mr. Obama to be a member of the human race. If it has to be broken down further than that, he is bi-racial, (half white, half black). It is Mr. Obama who casts himself as black while distancing himself from his white heritige. So, stop the "drop of black blood," bullshit. That racist rhetoric won't fly anymore. Of course it is a disgusting part of our past, but our society is not static. We have advanced and will continue to advance the propositions set forth in The Declaration of Independence.
You'll have to ask Mr. Obama why he chose to be the black, not bi-racial, candidate!

We may indeed be a "dumb a** society." But we are a nation with a constitution that works tolerably well in a most imperfect world. Someone just wrote me that Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Monroe and Madison were the same as Obama in that their parents were English subjects and, indeed, those presidents were born subjects of England. That's certainly true, but the Constitution covers that issue if people would take the time to read it for themselves: Article II
section 1.4. "NO person except a natural born citizen, OR A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES AT THE TIME OF THE ADOPTION OF THIS CONSTITUTION. So, these founding fathers met the letter of the
Constitution as far as being eligible for the Presidency.

If Obama's father was a citizen of the U.K., Kenya or any nation other than the U.S. at the time of Barak Obama Jr's birth, The Supreme Court may well rule Barak Jr. constitutionally ineligible for the office of President of The United States of America! It will most definitely be interesting.

  31. John McCain was born in Panama and was not a citizen. At that time it was not automatic for US citizens if their child was born out of the country.

  32. In the event something were to happen that Obama were to not take the oath, Joe Biden would be sworn in as V.P., then sworn in as President, and would then select his veep.

Joe Biden was NOT ELECTED president, he was on the ticket as Vice President yet has not taken the oath of office and therefore is not eligable to "step into" the office of the President.

I hate all of you. The fact that anyone is even having this conversation disgusts me.

Why? You hate Americans who want to see the Constitution upheld?

Doesn't the man have to show all his cards when he signs up with the Feds to even have a campaign?

NO; the man did not have to do anything but sign an application and affadavit swearing he is qualified.

No proof required, especially when being endorsed by the party which was against abolishing slavery (Back in the day) and had over 1-million KKK members in the 1920's.

John McCain was born in Panama and was not a citizen. At that time it was not automatic for US citizens if their child was born out of the country.

Correct; hence the Donofrio case being heard in the US Supreme Court.

There are a few people who have not drank the kool aid who want to know if the Constitution still means anything.

    No More - No Less

  33. What many of you fail to realize is that John McCain, being born on a US Base, to US citizens is a natural born US citizen. All of our bases and embassies are considered US soil, or territory. There fore, he absolutelt is a US natural born citizen.

Now, if his Dad was a US citizen and his Mom was from Panama, then he would have to go through hearings.

Now I don't care the race, sex, ethnic background or any other category of seperation one can be. If Obama or any other person is not qualifeid as outlined in the Constitution, then I don't care if they win an election with everyone voting for them.

I think that from now on, we need to make sure that people need to provide these types of documents prior to an election. If we need these documents to get a driver's license, I think it would be minimal to get to run for office.

Maybe Biden knows that Obama isn't qualified and is just trying to sneak into the presidency.

Let me throw this scenario to you. Obama is declared inelligible. Therefore we have to have another general election. This can't be done until the spring. George Bush can't serve more than two terms, so on Jan 20h he resigns and Dick Cheney takes over. Cheney uses his power to attack Iran and enacts the draft. During this time he seeks re-election since he is the sitting President. The election has very low turnout because of the draft and he wins by a landslide.

Now that would make a great movie!

Even though I didn't vote for Obama, I don't like the prospect of our country going into even more turmoil. Our politicians keep finding ways to divide us. We as Americans need to find ways to unite us.

  35. Let me say again. The Supreme Court is not hearing the case. They have scheduled the case for the December 5th conference where they will determine whether or not the case should be heard, and I guarantee that this will not make it out of conference.

  36. Anonymous 11:22 I know everything I need to know and honestly you didn't get the point or have not syudy Obama. For you to say he did not stay in touch with his white side obviously did not see the praise he gave his grandmother. and it sounds like you got pissed off so if you would like a further conversation with me drop your name and we can talk cause obviously you are one of the dumba** people I was talking about get a life. I could careless who the president elect was the thing is since your the history buff post every specific thing you can find about the past presidents and who ran against them and dissect it, because if it came tobe known that the issue of his birth is true and lies were told that will tell you what type of country we live in.

    ReplyDelete
  37. 12:15 - I disagree. This case may make it out of conference, but not for the reasons that the RRWNs (Right-Wing Wing Nuts) want it too. The court may want to put the issue to bed, once and for all, as a way to defang the RRWNs on this issue.

A reasonable reading of "Natural Born Citizen" would be any citizen who didn't become one through the naturalization process. It's fairly inclusive, and the majority on the court will probably go for it. This would leave both Obama and McCain as eligible.

    ReplyDelete
  38. The Justices will put an end to this and Obama will be POTUS for one reason only. They know like everyone of us knows, if they don't there will be an uprising in this country like it has never seen before. The lights will surely go out in Georgia and every other state in this country. We are stuck with Obama eligible or not. What a sad state of affairs this country is in.
