Affirmative Action When Should We Close The Door

I just happened to be on the local Health Department’s website and noticed that they have a Minority Youth Outreach Program. Why would this program not be available for all? Equal rights mean equal rights for all not special privileges just for the minority. What I find intriguing is that on the list it shows “Outreach to the Faith-based Community”. Now if I’m not mistaken is there not suppose to be a separation of church and state? The big picture is when do we shut down the affirmative action based government financed departments? Do we just drop the curtain and allow it to be available to all? I’m bewildered here as it is year 2008 with the future President of the USA being a minority and there are all these government backed departments that do nothing but cater to the minorities. It’s time for change and we need to start here.

  1. No where in the costintution does it mention a seperation of church and state. This is just a catch phrase that many non-christians rallied behind because they didn't believe in Jesus Christ.

Our constitution only mentions that people can worship any way or person/God they want, or they don't have to worship anything at all.

Secondly, the control of religion by the governemt is not allowed, now is the control of the government by a religious leader allowed. This is what they had in Europe and the Soviet Union.

We were founded as a Christian nation. We have put God in many of our government documents and ideals. However, that doesn't mean that you have to worship the same God that our founders did.

We are a country of assimilation. People come here and assimilate to us. They come here because they want to learn our laws and customs and they want the freedoms that come with it.

When we reverse that, which has been hapening for the last 20 years or so, then we lose our identity as a nation.

We speak the english language. If you come to this country, your are free to speak any language you want, but if you want any governemt assistance, you should assimilate to our language, we should not have to assimilate to yours.

    And so on.

It is time for Affirmative action to stop. But that means that we all have to recognize that we are all created equal. These types of programs only foster us as a divided nation. If our own government still tries to seperate us and catorgize us, we can't help but to do it ourselves.

Stop affirmative action. Start treating everyone equally and fairly. Stand up for yourself and demand equal treatment not through raising your yelling and screaming, but through silent actions like education, hard work and positioning yourself to be the best at what you do and love.

Remember, walk softly and carry your head held high. (you thought I was going to say "big stick")

  3. The mandate for affirmative Action should only end after about 400 years.

That would mak everthing almost even.

  4. Now if I’m not mistaken is there not suppose to be a separation of church and state?

This is a *HUGE* misconception of the ESTABLISHMENT CLAUSE of the Constitution of the Unites States of America.

There shall be no State ESTABLISHED religion.

Like the Church of England was ESTABLISHED by the Monarchy after the Pope told King Henry VIII he could not have a divorce.

Don't lose your head over the issue like Ann Bolin.

Funny how people want "separation" of church and state as "protected" by the Constitution, but they could care less about the Constitutional Requirements to run for the office of the President of the United States of America.

  5. Before you judge a program by its name find out what the program does. I can tell you one part of the minority youth outreach program, Mrs. Elzey goes into schools and the juvenile detention center in Salisbury and works with these groups about making better choices. She works with ALL the youth, not just the minorities. If you have any questions about this program, I am sure Mrs. Elzey would be more than happy to answer them. Stop thinking in black and white, minority does not just refer to skin color.

  6. If the name Minority has no meaning, then why isn't it just the Youth Outreach Program? Just another good example of your tax doolars at work.

  7. I tried to get help for my child through the health department for in school counseling but she didn't qualify because she is white! Go figure.

  8. It was not that your Child is White, it is that you are not familiar with "the System". Some folks have a lot more experience with demanding everything for free. They are "entitled" to entitlements just because they refuse to work or contribute to society.
