This afternoon at 2PM, Salisbury University is hosting a "press conference" in Holloway Hall for Dem candidate Frank Kratovil and Sen. Barbara Mikulski. The purported purpose of this dog and pony show is to discuss:
Probably the most disconcerting thing about this charade is that your Maryland tax dollars are being used for partisan political purposes. That's right, your tax dollars are being used to pimp for Democratic candidates. Should we be surprised? No, this is Maryland after all. Read More ...
the impact of federal funding at Salisbury University and the University of Maryland System, including the importance of federal student aid to Maryland college students.I wouldn't be surprised if we'll also hear how "Blue Dog Frank" is now firmly entrenched in the Nancy Pelosi / Barney Frank camp when it comes to last week's $700 billion bailout and cover-up of past liberal sins. It's not much of a stretch. At last week's debate, Kratovil was for it, against it, for it IF, and against it IF.

The first sentence on your blog header says "UNBIASED"
ReplyDeleteHow about a little unbiased news Joe?
The comments section should be for BIASED opinions, not the front page...where "UNBIASED" is the key word.
Yes, you need a new slogan.
The marquee on this site says: Salisbury's most reliable and unbiased source for your local news? Notice the questions mark?
ReplyDeleteIf you want real political news, don't use this blog. It is mainstream republican only.
Joe didn't write the piece, I did. I've never claimed to unbiased. While I try to be OBJECTIVE, I have my own prejudices and world view just like everyone else.
ReplyDeleteNext you'll be telling us that the MSM is unbiased?
Joe- I am going to have to agree... How can you claim to have unbiased news if you allow posts like this... If Senator Harris wanted to have a press event a SU they would allow him....
ReplyDeleteI hope that you go back to being the 'giver of information' and not the giver of one opinion.....
Read the name of the Author/Contributor to this Post. I'm not at all saying I don't agree with his views, I do. However, direct your comments properly.
ReplyDeleteYou are the publisher of this blog... So if you claim to be unbiased if should be your responsibility to uphold that claim...
ReplyDeleteFor a LONG time, i believed you did...

ReplyDeleteThe real sin is having Kratovil -- who is not a federal or state official (his State's Attorney position is not relevant in this instance) as a participant in this event, which shows it to be a political ploy under the auspices of Janet Dudley-Eschbach and her comrades to get Kratovil elected by gaining votes among the SU students.
Man, that Frank Kratovil is a bastard for trying to gain votes at SU.
ReplyDeleteWhat a typical politician. Trying to win.
Maybe Andy Harris would be served by 'trying to win.'
Andrew -
ReplyDeleteI commend a liberal for admitting that this event is only a campaign stunt.
G.A.,
ReplyDeleteLike every event by the Cockeysville Carpetbagger held on the Shore? Do you think you'll EVER see that guy again, if he gets elected?
GUARANTEED.
ReplyDeleteAs for the Carpetbagger dig, at least Andy has lived in the District. PG Boy just moved over here to run for something.
GA- you mean at least Andy will pander to Baltimore County since he lives there? I'd be happy to know my Rep actually lives on the Shore.
ReplyDeleteWRONG. Kratovil moved to QA county in 1997. He didn't run for office until 2003.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, your facts are wrong. But, the bar is set so low for you, that I'm not surprised.
And the Carpetbagger title isn't a dig. Andy Harris ISN'T FROM THE EASTERN SHORE. I'm not voting for a Carpetbagger who will only come here to campaign. That's what all the Western Shore guys have EVERY done in this district.
Actually he ran in 2002. I'm also well aware of his service as an Asst. State's Attorney from 1997 - 2002. The point was that he came over here looking to run for something. Only an idiot moves into a place and runs out of the box. I've never claimed the man was stupid - only that he's a liberal with a loose concept of the truth.
ReplyDeleteWrong again, G.A. He was appointed to that role in 1997.
ReplyDelete"loose concept of the truth"
You mean like trying to claim that Iraq was a Theocracy? Or do you mean like trying to twist someone's words in debate from "consistently" to "each and every"? (Harris claims he "wrote it down"... go watch the tape from PAC-14, Kratovil said "consistently")
Your little Carpetbagger from Cockeysville is a liar and a smear merchant. Don't believe Kratovil? Then just ask Gilchrest, or any of the other honorable people he smeared on his way up.
Harris is Wrong for Maryland and WRONG FOR THE EASTERN SHORE.
"Only an idiot moves into a place and runs out of the box."
ReplyDeleteYou mean like Hillery???
Anon 1613 -
ReplyDeleteNot according to his bio.
According to folks I asked from QAC, Kratovil was the first elected State's Attorney. His predecessor was appointed and Kratovil ran against him in the 2002 Dem primary.
Of course, you'll probably keep claiming that Kratovil is "from the Shore".
This event was sponsored by the SU Dems!, of which I'm a member, and the Environmental Students Association.
