Today's Daily Times looks exactly like yesterday mornings Salisbury News. Wouldn't you agree? Oh, wait a minute. One of the Headlines on the front page is two day old Salisbury News.
AP Photo, Pocomoke FD Photo, you see, their Staff is nowhere to be found any more. Oh, did I mention their daily weekly paper went UP TO $ .50 CENTS PER DAY!
They should get a slogan like WMDT has. You know, "more news in less time." The Daily Times should say, "less news, more money, we're the Daily Times and we don't give a sh!t."
Oh, they're in their new building though. That's printed daily in their paper, like that's news. Seems Salisbury News got it right after all and the commenter's trying to claim these weren't SU Football Players were full of crap, just like I knew they were.
Not to worry though, the Mayor will be giving the Coach a Certificate in the next few weeks for all the wonderful things the THUGS at SU do for the community. I'm sure you'll see the Daily Times cover that story.
Has anyone noticed how thin the paper has been in the past few months, including the Sunday paper?
There paper is thin . . just like their stock price. Pretty soon it will be delisted and become an OTC penny stock. It's not far from there now.
ReplyDeleteAt least they actually cover the NEWS, Joe. Haven't seen any smear emails copied and pasted in the Daily
ReplyDeleteTimes, recently.
COVER THE NEWS!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLet me set you straight on a few things. First of all, the Daily Times is RARELY at any event any more. They depend on people sending them photos and MOST of the time they don't give credit to the person who took the picture. Just go back to the Main Street Gym Fundraiser as an example. They STOLE three photos from that event. Obviously, (since none of their staff were there) someone sent in the photos and there was not a single name under them.
The local MSM think they can do whatever they want. That being said, they watch Salisbury News and see what's hot. When they see a bunch of comments, they simply call someone involved and the next thing you know they're covering a story. However, are they?
So please, look all over todays paper and you'll see all old news delivered a day or two ago here on Salisbury News. I'm not patting myself on the back. I'm telling you the truth and the facts. They LOVE what I'm doing because they can do a whole lot less and ride off of my work. Smart move, if you ask me.
Hey Joe. Who Pissed in your cornflakes this morning? You're having one of those days that makes people realize why you aren't credible. Lay off badmouthing businesses and report your "facts".
ReplyDeleteBo,
ReplyDeleteCREDIBLE?????????
LOOK at todays Daily Times. I highly doubt that after you look at every section when you read yesterdays and the day before news delivered by Salisbury News you could back up such a statement.
Joe, love your site, but once again, take note that SBY News and print media are NOT THE SAME, and should not be treated as such.
ReplyDeleteYou have HUGE leeway in getting things out into the public eye hours or days before the newspaper has the opportunity to verify and attribute information for its print edition.
What you do vs print is even more
striking than the differences between print and TV, where an 11 pm broadcast is able to report on something the night before it hits the print newsstands.
Your blog doesn't operate by the same standards of verification and attribution as the MSM. It's not good, it's not bad -- it just IS.
So, it's not an apples-to-apples thing, Joe. You gotta remember that.
Tell me if I'm wrong.
Concerned Citizen,
ReplyDeleteYou're 100% correct. Well, maybe not exactly, allow me to explain.
You see, the difference between Salisbury News, the Daily Times, 47 News and 16 News is the fact that ALL of the sources out there now come to Salisbury News first.
That is, unless it has to do with Mayor Tilghman and her Administration. To clarify that better though, if Salisbury News is at an event, we have a chance in many cases to get that information out there first.
The problem "I" have with it is, WE get the news and information and the DT sits back and reads our Posts and runs with it. That goes for 16 & 47 News as well. In many cases I feed some of these other Stations if I feel it's news worthy.
Let me give you an example of how the NEWS works around here though.
Yesterday I contacted one of the News Stations and I said, you need to send a camera person over to Shanie Shields home and take video of all the debris on her property, she's been evicted.
Their response was, that's cruel! I replied, YOU have a responsibility to get out there and tell the news. How you can feel this is cruel is beyond me. This woman is involved with managing MILLIONS of Taxpayers dollars and she can't even handle her own finances? They were too sift, (IMHO) and no one else covered it.
Now, is that being harsh, exposing Shanie Shields? Would YOU rather this be kept quiet so we can see more, we ain't got no crime in Salisbury. Or, I TRUST these Developers! I'm confident that this was absolutely news worthy but I welcome your input on it as well.
Your local News Stations are failing because things have become far too soft and political. I don't feel sorry for Shanie Shields and I like Shanie. Shanie and I have never had any problems with one and other on a personal level. I think she's a great person with a great sense of humor. However, as a politician, I think she sucks at what she does. Just like I have always said about the Police Chief. Nice enough guy, he just sucks at being the Police Chief. As for Mayor Tilghman, there isn't a single thing I like about that woman. I'll explain why. She's a LIAR. A bold faced, cold LIAR that will lie to anyone's face and she couldn't care less.
So my point is, how can one guy deliver so much news and information, yet it takes some 200 from the Daily Times and they're making millions upon millions of dollars at what they do? It would be cool if they were there at all of these events participating. YES, that means Republican events as well as Democratic. Nevertheless, that's not what they are doing and quite frankly they are using my work to sell Newspapers.
thugs? Joe, come on, not everyone on the SU football team is a bad person.
ReplyDeleteI can name 7 of them that are. I'll even top that. I'd even consider them a GANG.
ReplyDeleteShanie Shields the person isn't news. Shanie Shields the politician is. You need to keep them separate, even if, in your humble opinion, her inability to stay in her home is related to her job.
ReplyDeleteBo know Football.
ReplyDeleteBo may even know Baseball.
But JOE knows Politics and once you're in, you are NOT off limits.
I only read the paper for obits and Brice Stumps articles.Theres just hardly anything else in it.
ReplyDeleteI hope more people cancel their paper due to the increase, that would surely stick a fork in them. Why buy a cow when you can get free milk?
ReplyDeleteThe Times has a 24/7 news website. They just don't follow through and deliver that news on their sight in a timely manner. They have the same means as Joe does, more employees, seems like they just don't have the will to get the job done. I don't know many happy employees there. The writing is on the wall for them, Adios.
ReplyDeleteTheir new reporter that covers the city council meetings always has a look on her face like she just stepped in some dog crap. Well, to her defense, she did step into the council chambers, not much difference.
I wonder how much the rapidly failing DT paid for the new, ssmaller racks to hold their skinny little paper?
