Gary Comegys Says, Close Those Bridges!
In order to help their statistics so the Fire Department doesn't look bad when the Bridge is up and they can't get to a fire, Comegys and Tilghman want these Bridges closed for good. Oh, if you think that's the only reason you'd be dead wrong. You see, what many others tend to forget is the other Public Safety portion of the City and that would be the Police Department as well.
Aside from that though, Mayor Tilghman and Gary Comegys don't want you to know that they are trying to run Perdue out of the City along with other businesses along the North Prong.
Now you say to yourself, Joe, come on, why would these two want Perdue run out of Town. They're a strong part of our economy. I'd reply, they want ALL of the heavy users of water and sewer run out because they will NOT have the allocations for water and sewer, $84,000,000.00 later that they claimed they would have and if YOU find this out they'll be nailed and forever thrown out of the City.
They don't want you to know this and that's exactly why Linnens of the Week left Salisbury as well as others. If you use a lot of water and sewer, they want you gone. Look at the Micro Brewery wanting to come into the old Union Station and the Mayor throwing a $160,000.00 Impact Fee on them. They'll use too much of that water the swore to all of you they would have.
Do you recall john Jacobs asking for millions more to upgrade everything there even further so they could have even more capacity and it would be cheaper to do it now than it would be to do it later, hence the multiple CHANGE ORDERS. They want Perdue gone at any cost. Thousands of jobs will be lost, how could a Mayor of a City like Salisbury not care? How come Comegys isn't saying anything? How come the new Plant isn't up and running yet? Why should Perdue stay here with the rates as high as they are and knowing they're going up again next year?
Well, you can't say the North Prong isn't busy with boat traffic because today those Bridges have gone up and down twice with two different barges. The Mayor of Salisbury is full of crap Folks. I wouldn't trust her as far as I could throw her.
What a shame, everyone associated with trying to clean up the Church Street, Rt. 13 neighborhoods were hoping the brewery would be a start to revitalization and change. Is revitalization worth $160,000? Of course! The City wants to add a zero to this number to fix up the old Bricks building? Where are the priorities? Tear down the Bricks, build the brewery, start the revitalization!
ReplyDeleteBecause Perdue moved their main office out of the city, that's their punishment. Nice way for the city to do business?
ReplyDeleteBubba Sez: Gropf pays fer gropf. Burrrrp.
ReplyDeleteThe north prong was dug out by the army corp of engineers, it is considered federal waters and can not be blocked by a closed bridge, or can anyone build a peir in the waterway. The mistake was made in th 60's when the bridge was built, it should have been much higher so than no span would have been needed.
ReplyDeleteGary Comegys is a poster child supporting Abortion.
ReplyDeleteWhile Mr. Albero clearly has some thoughts about the bridge, and the North Prong - he should get at least one fact straight: In order to get the bridges closed, an Act of Congress is needed. No matter who the Mayor or the council, the ONLY way to close those bridges permanently is for the U.S. Congress to so authorize. Now, do you see that happening? This city/county can't get consensus on anything, and you think the Congress is going to step in? Come on.
ReplyDeleteJoe- What are the facts with the microbrewery? We have all been looking forward to seeing that building redone and the brewery to open. These boys do such a wonderful job at sobos and seem very dedicated to the area.
