The 2008 Wine Festival Is Just Around The Corner

This weekend’s event is sure to tickle your taste buds

(Salisbury, MD) The 2008 Wicomico County Autumn Wine Festival will be held October 18th & 19th, 2008 at Pemberton Historical Park in Salisbury, Maryland, and we are looking forward to beautiful autumn weather and a great festival! Festival hours are Saturday from 11:00am until 6:00pm and Sunday from 12:30pm until 6:00pm.

The event is celebrating its 6th anniversary with a record nineteen participating Maryland wineries and nearly fifty arts, crafts and food vendors. Live music from a variety of performance groups will fill the air as attendees sample many varieties of wine. All attendees (21 and older) will receive a 6 oz. sampling wine glass to use throughout the day. Parking is free and we encourage our guests to bring blankets or chairs to enjoy the entertainment or other areas of the park grounds.

Pemberton Hall will be open for tours and will also feature an Artisan’s Walk of historic crafters and artists. Located off of Pemberton Drive on the west side of Salisbury, Pemberton Hall and the festival grounds are located at 27851 Pemberton Drive, Salisbury, MD 21801.

Advance tickets are available online at www.autumnwinefestival.org or at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center Box office for $20 per person plus fees.

At the gate, tickets will be available for $25 dollars per person. Designated Driver and Youth tickets are also available for $5 per person. Designated Drivers will receive a free Pepsi beverage at the Pepsi Designated Driver Tent.

The Autumn Wine Festival would not have been possible without sponsor contributions from local businesses including WMDT 47, Pepsi, Clear Channel Outdoor, Public Radio Delmarva, Bennett Construction, Saturn, The Centre at Salisbury and in kind donations from Grist Mill Gardens, Nutters Crossing Golf Course and the State Highway Administration. This event is proudly produced by the Wicomico County Recreation, Parks & Tourism Department in partnership with the Maryland Wineries Association.

  3. Yeah, I'm not too fond of Maryland wines, but the wine festival is a lot of fun. Hope I get to go this year.

Don't worry so much about those etched wine glasses, 7:59. The only people paying for them are those who buy a ticket. Every event has costs that determine the net profit.
