  1. "ARRESTED #1: Marcus Dean Miciotto, 22 years of age Salisbury, Maryland"

WTF?? First of all if Salisbury Police had investigated this BOY they would of discovered his home address is on Crocket Ave in Fruitland. Just ask anybody, he's well known with the local PD.

If it had happened in Fruitland his Daddy would of tried to get his buddy SGT Truitt to handle this for him.

Not long ago he was stopped for driving with his son on his lap down the road. If he's old enough to become a daddy and drive a vehicle it seems he should know the rules of the road when it comes to car seats!

Maybe when the Fruitland Chamber holds their "Meet the Candidates" night for the upcoming City Council election someone can ask Mark Miciotto (Dad to Marcus and is running for one of the seats) how he feels about his grandchild not being in a safety seat.

Mark lost his seat two years ago. During his time on the City Council he received MANY favors from city employees. He also built a garage on his property which he is running a business out of. In the city limits this is illegal since the business wasn't grandfathered in before the charter was written. Mark thinks he has everyone fooled by telling them that this business is a "hobby". He even drives around town in his truck with his "hobby" displayed on each door. Oh wait, I recall him saying that his friends did this to his truck as a joke. If it had been friends of mine I would of had them paint the whole truck to the original way it was before the so called joke.

Mark also goes around telling everyone that he wasn't fired from UCI. Well that's only part of the story. He was forced into early retirement or face sexual harasement charges.

As a citizen of Fruitland I honestly don't feel that Mark can fill the position on the City Council in the manner this town needs. We need someone who won't abuse the position, someone who won't ask for city employee favors, someone who can be trusted each time he/she opens his/her mouth and someone we can respect.
Mark Miciotto is NOT that person.

I'm sorry I can't put my name at the end of this. Mark is the reason why. The man has a temper which I personally don't want to face (again)!

  2. Correction:

That was supposed to be ECI, not UCI. What can I say, the man makes me mad just thinking about the things he has some people in this town believing.

  3. Anon, relax. Don't let anyone steal your peace. You can change how you react to this person and you will be a much happier person. The steps you are taking to let everyone know about this person will do much good for the community. Just be fair and honest and if this person is all the things you say, he doesn't have a chance. Don't live in fear. Don't let this control you. Be strong and keep doing things like this.

Joe thisis another benefit you give your fellow bloggers. A release of frustration cause by people of government, business or personal reasons.

  4. Mardela...

Thanks so much for the kind words. Oh trust me, what I've said is only a small slice of the true man Mark Miciotto really is.

As for my happiness...this man can't take this away from me. I live each day as if it's the last enjoying each and every second of it.

I agree about what you said about Joe. This is one of my favorite places to check each day to see whats really going on and also to vent a little when I read something that grabs my attention.

I hope the rest the day as beautiful as it happens to be outside right now. Sure doesn't feel like September.

  5. Speaking of the dark side of the Force:

    Notes from Mid-September-

Well, election fans, it is almost that time of every other year, down here in Fruitland. And who better to bring you some of the play-by-play, or blow-by-blow (if you prefer), of the semi-civil, all-civic elections, than yours truly, Fruitlander.
In the first corner, is Ray Carey, all-around good guy and a well-respected incumbent. As a result, it is hard to see that he has any chance of losing, if he just goes out there and does some solid campaigning and touches all the bases. ’Nuff said!
The way I see it, sharing the next corner are two unknowns, one a Home Owners Association leader. Some people might think those types are slippery, hard to handle and unaccountable. I am reserving judgment about that issue for the present. The other unknown is a high up SU administrator. Now, I have heard people opine that there is an inherent conflict of interest, letting one person have all that influence in two separate, yet nearby power structures, especially in that the two cross paths from time to time. Hmmmm. Take a good look at that one, talk about it and decide for yourselves.
The other issue with these two challengers is that they are virtual unknowns at City Hall. Sure, they have been to City Hall a few times and a couple of city employees or council people know them, but that is about it. I heard both of their names, but I need someone to remind me. Neither one has been to any significant number of City Council or Planning Commission or Board of Zoning Appeals meetings, etc., etc.. They have NOT really put themselves out very much at all so far this year to campaign and guess what? Yup! It’s getting kinda late now! That will hurt both of them. Better luck next time fellas!
In the third and final corner…what? Oh, sorry, this ring only has three corners. For here in Fruitland, the ring is a triangle this year, not a square, at least that is what rumor says. And rumor is the very spice of election life, in Disharoon’s Crossing! Rumor has it that the Rev. Gloria Ortiz, the other incumbent, with be running with the Death Star himself, Marth Vader, as her team mate! Devotees of the last election are already clamoring to know if MR. FRUITLAND (aka Kenny Mills), will once again be in charge of civic conscience (and developer ambition) and anonymously print election signs for these two and distribute those little babies all over town , late at night, all hush-hush (probably too hard to rub out Greg & Margaret’s names and add “The Rev” with a magic marker!)! Hope that no city employees have these signs forced on their lawns this go-around!
To calm down a bit, it is hard to see what the Rev stands to gain from any association with Marth Vader. Even if both win, which is unlikely, the other council members will vote them down 3-2 almost all the time. Truthfully, The Rev has the best chance of winning if she runs alone. She doesn’t need any negativity to drag her down against one of the unknowns.
So…what about Marth Vader??? Did you ever go to a party that you weren’t invited too? Yeah, me too, several times over the years. Did you ever get tossed out of any of those parties, ‘cuz you weren’t on the guest list? Ok, maybe I did (twice). Did you ever have almost everyone chasing you down the street to get you to leave? No, not ever ‘cuz I have SOME common sense!
After his first election to office, Marth got comfy. He had plans. At the Candidate’s Night, during his re-election bid, he tried to ooze that confidence and proclaimed that his biggest asset was common sense. Yes, common sense! He said it more than twice in his speech that night. I heard it and marveled. Well, after the dust had cleared from that municipal election, 2 years ago, Mr. Common Sense had come in dead last. Yes, Mr. Common Sense had gotten about 1/3 of the votes that he had gotten 4 years before. Mr. Common Sense had been soundly rejected by all but about 60 of Fruitland’s voters. Mr. Common Sense had that public meltdown in the newspaper (ouch, ouch, OUCH!). Mr. Common Sense tried to get Rich Tull arrested for…something or other, maybe untied shoelaces in public…And Mr. Common Sense is running again this year. Makes sense, doesn’t it?

Thank you Fruitland for another season of mirth, satire, cynicism and glee. I wish these picaresque moments came more often! May the force be with us!

(Printed script rolls up towards ceiling while the music plays…. Daaaaah…dum…dum…dum…dum…dum…dum…dah…daaaah……)

PS- We are gonna miss you Joyce!

  6. I am less concerned with this Miciotto character and more curious as to why a sex offender (Hudson) was free to roam the streets and attempt to rape a woman out in broqad daylight.Anyone who sexually assaults a juvenile should be in jail,PERIOD.Think they will deny bail THIS time,or does he have to get another chance?

  7. IMO What kind of a moron would want to buy a condo across from "the zoo?" (Brew River)

Hell for a lot less you can get a good view of the original "Zoo" on South Division.
