Obama & Creationism

"Obama & Creationism

I never see any creationists for Obama buttons! If Obama is so Christian, would he urge that creation be taught in our schools along side evolution? I don’t deny the right of liberals to teach that their descendants crawled out of the slime and swung by their tails from trees. That just may be true! But mine & yours were created in the image of GOD:)

I’ve also read that there are unconfirmed reports that Obama’s former pastor, Rev."God Damn America," Wright, is a Homo sapien! I must admit that I haven’t seen anything to suggest that this is true, so I will give him the benefit of relying on his actions to evince that he is not a Homo sapien! It is grossly unfair to suggest that Obama is a Homo sapien because of a long associaton with Rev. Wright! But just for the record, I am in NO way against Homo sapiens or thespiens! They are people, TOO!

  1. wow...just wow. This is the least educated, least intelligent, and more importantly, least relevant post I've ever seen on here.

  2. Littleton never fails... He may be one of the most ignorant people on the Eastern Shore or possibly in America.

Creationism is a religious idea. Evolution has been proven through scientific fact. If you really think there was a talking snake and that man and dinosaurs cohabitated, well that is fine. But there is no way that I want the Judeo-Christian myth taught in public schools.

    Separation of church and state...

You, Thomas, really need to relax with the rev. Wright business. You are clearly obsessed, and clearly racist. You have simplified the man's entire message into one overplayed sound bite. You have never been pissed off at America? Oh, I forgot, you are a part of the white-Christian majority who has no comprehension of what it is like to be discriminated against on a regular basis.
So sit home and shake in your American boots and quote your bible and claim that if you are liberal you aren't patriotic, but the sad truth is that you are nothing but a small minded racist.

  3. And that's saying something, DJ.

Don't kids go to Sunday School, anymore? That's where I learned what I believe, after my home.

    Separation of Church & State!!!

And may it make our churches stronger, without becoming political.

  4. This is a joke, right? You can't honestly believe this.

    Can you?

  5. Joe, why do you keep posting this stuff from him? You accuse other posters of harping on the same things over and over, going so far as to banish some of them, and yet TAL gets to just keep playing the same note? One might get the impression that you agree with him...

  6. Boy, this is a new level of stupidity--Littleton is losing his mind. Just because Joe posts it doesn't mean he agrees with it; in fact, my guess would be that it is posted to show complete silliness. It gave me a good laugh this morning!

  8. Why is it that Republicans like TAL are so against big gov't and gov't intervention in our lives, except when is comes to telling people (in a free country mind you) what to think? This moral superiority business amounts to foolish pride and self-righteousness(sp?). Look those two topics up in your bible.

    Catholic for Obama -GOBAMA!

  9. r, haddad...Grasshopper,
You have SO MUCH to learn:) Since you think "Judeo/Christianity" is a "myth," I'm so glad you aren't on my side, thank you:)
So, you ARE saying that your ancestors crawled out of the slime and swung by their tails? You have my deepest sympathy:) I believe you once chastised me that Islam is the biggest religion in the world. Ask them, the overwhelming majority believe in creationism:) Believe it or not, I do talk with Muslims:) Does that make it correct for you? I mean, since you hate us Christians & Jews so much, maybe you will believe the Muslims:) Muslims are correct about creationism. They were created, too. We are just enemies at the current time, but at sometime in the future we will all live in peace & harmony:)
Creationism was allowed to be taught in our schools until recently. Since it is true, it is more than a "religious idea; it is science in its purest form.
It is not wisdom to say something can't be true because it is unfashionable at the moment! Remember, Darwin was once treated as a joke! I'm not saying remove the teaching of evolution, just also allow creationism. I actually know and talk with more black Christians than white. For your information, the vast majority of black Christians believe in creationism, too.
As for Rev. "God Damn America" Wright being a Homo sapien: In the unlikely event that you, "DJ NoName," know how to use a dictionary, please look up Homo sapien and satire:) And for your education Grasshopper, DJ,
satire has Always been part of American Politics! Now run along and hang that G.E.D. on the wall:)
If you really had ANY education, you would know that the Homo sapien satire was borrowed from an earlier, famous political campaign.
And, yes, Much like Joe Namath's guarantee of a Super Bowl,III win defines him even today, when a "supposed" minister screams "GOD DAMN AMERICA" in his church on camera, that will define him!

  11. thomas augustus littleton, can you write a sentence without a smiley face?

Go ahead and live your life the way you are. That is fine.

For me, I might as well worship "the lord of the rings". Both the lord of the rings and the bible have alot in common. Both books have a lead Wizard, and both books have been seldomly read (people would rather wait for the movie)

  12. TAL, you are a bizaar person.

And just because you believe that the Bible is fact doesn't mean the rest of us do. Save it for Sunday school buddy. I can deal with you thinking I'm going to burn in Hell. I can't deal with my children being forced to learn YOUR beliefs in school. School is NOT the place for my children to discover their own beliefs and values. That's for us, their parents, to help them with.

  13. TAL,

Do you think the earth is only 6,000 years old, and that humans walked with dinosaurs?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Grasshopper, Angela,
Of course, I disagree, but be that as it may, I hope your kids and mine are taught spelling:)

"TAL, you are a "bizaar" person."
    "bizarre," young woman, "bizarre"!
    TAL is a bizarre person:)
Write that on the board 100 times:)
Do not, yet, trouble yourself with concepts like creationism & evolution:)
And I most certainly do NOT think you are going to burn in Hell:) I am an esoteric Platonist/Christian. As such, I believe we will all be reincarnated till we are developed enough to escape the "wheel of birth," and remain pure essence. Of course, that's where the Christian part comes in. Jesus' sacrifice provides a short cut,in place of multiple incarnations, for those who believe and accept salvation. Being an esoteric Platonist/Christian is not for those who don't like to read & think:)
Since the missing genetic link has never been found to modern man, evolution of man is far from proven! I could explain how we were created, as I have had direct revelation from the cosmic mind of the universe. It is really Very scientific, no magic! You would understand it immediately. But as Jesus had to tell the people of his day," There are many things I have to tell you, but you are not yet ready to recieve them!"
I can also explain how Jesus fits perfectly with the teachings of Plato, but, again, I doubt that many are ready to recieve it.
As for science and even relativism, Einstein, Paul, and Plato are all in agreement: EINSTEIN: "There is a universal objective reality, that is independent of the ability of our senses to observe it." PLATO: "simile of the cave"..a little long, (Please read.)
PAUL: "behold, now we see through a glass, darkly..."
That's three pretty good minds all agreeing on the unreliability of the senses in determining the objective truth:)

  17. This just in: Thomas Littleton is the second coming of Christ.

    Thank you for enlightening us.

And also thank you for the spelling lesson.

BTW, you're a Hindu with respect for Jesus and his teachings. Or did I perhaps misunderstand you?

  18. Oh, and don't call me your grasshopper.

  19. TAL,
Yes I do believe that my ancestors, and yours EVOLVED from lower beings. This is a proven scientific fact backed by real evidence. What scientific facts do you have to support creationism?

I could, to argue, say that I believe man was created by an almighty grasshopper who rubbed his legs together and presto -- man and woman appeared. I could say this out loud and write it down until I believed it to be true. I could pass this story down to generations and they could blindly believe it to be true becuase it was written by someone who lived before them and therefore, they believed it on "faith". But the fact is, it can never be proven or disproven... it was simply a fable designed to help me explain what I could not. Just like your "creationist" myth.

So, do I criticize you? Do I try to make the government force everyone to learn my grasshopper theory?

    No.

Open up your eyes and perhaps a scientific text book once and a while...

  22. Nobody says you cannot teach creationism, nobody says you cannot pray in school. You just cannot teach a single version of creationism (newsflash--there are many, many versions that are not Judeo/Christian), and you should pray silently and not be led by an authority figure who prioritizes one religion over another. Pretty simple concept here, but the creationists cannot seem to get it. Governor Palin is one of those who doesn't get it.

  23. Clinging to a literal interpretation of the book of Genesis is ridiculous. There is no reason that a christian can't embrace science and the theory of evolution...Unless, of course, you really want to believe in talking snakes.

    ReplyDelete
  24. There are no "scientific facts". There are accepted scientific theories. Besides, Godel and Wittgenstein ended the era of knowledge and post modernism and, along with quantum mechanics and string theory, ushered in the era of pure potentiality.
    Don't you forget it, pal!!!

  25. Hey haddad, Is your only comeback to someone who has a difference of opinion with an individual, and that individual happens to be a person of color, is that they must be a racist? You said the key word in your comment,"American." We are all Americans. If you were born here or obtained citizenship through legal means, then you are all Americans. Those of us that were born here are not Italian-Americans, Asian-Americans, African-Americans,(and so on...)we are Americans first and foremost. The problem with many people's patriotism is that they have forgotten this. I am in no way saying that you are to have blind faith in your leaders. It is every American's God-given right to challenge and try and change any decisions that you feel would be a detriment to this country. I also feel that you cannot make a statement like, "In my nearly 40yrs of life, this is the first time that I am proud to be an American." As this was the case with Michelle Obama. I am especially appalled at this statement knowing that it was this great country of America that provided her with that wonderful education, which in turn allowed her to achieve the no doubt well deserved success that she is experiencing. We should all be so blessed!!!! What you can achieve in this country thru hard work and dedication is limitless. We should all take a step back, look at what we have and then thank God everyday for living in this great country of ours. NEVER BE ASHAMED TO CALL YOURSELF AN AMERICAN!!!!
