A Letter To The Editor

"Dear Joe,

I read the article about Burger King North and felt i should share my own story
about wendy's north. A couple weeks ago a friend and I at about 11 p.m. decided
to go to Wendy's to get something to eat. We placed our order, which they got
wrong so there was a little misunderstanding. As we drove up to the window to
pay and get our food i said, someones probably going to spit in our food. When
we got the window i said to the lady, "sorry about that," and she replied,"
Ohhhh, thats alrightttt." So long story short we get back to my friends house i
open my first burger and rummage through which appears to be perfectly fine, so
i ate it. As i got to my second jr bacon cheeseburger i checked through that one
also. When i lifted up the bun there was a pubic hair neatly placed on top of
the cheese. After eating the one burger my stomach went into a fury. Needless to
say we went back up to wendy's and pulled up to the window and told the lady
what had happened in which she replied, "Sorry about that, would you like us to
make you something else??" I couldn't believe my ears. God only knows what they
would have done to my next burger. We asked to speak to the manager and to be
reimbursed for our food. As the manager walks up the cashier tells her our story
and we see them both start laughing behind the window and 15 minutes later we
received our money and a smirk from the cashier. Obviously I haven't eaten there
since nor can i go to any fast food restaurant (except Chik-fil-A) without
looking through my food before i eat it. I find it disgusting that someone could
do that and a manager would find a situation like that humurous. Just wanted to
inform anyone so if you want to Wendy's, don't go north!!

  2. Regardless, it is unsanitary!

There are few fast food establishments in and around Salisbury that are properly managed. As mentioned before, Chick-fil-a is one of the best! This is a company run on christian values. An example of what is good in America.
The rest are a dinstant second. When I was a teenager, I worked at a well managed McDonalds, and a not so well managed Roy Rodgers. It starts at the top. Good owners=good management= good hiring=well mannered employees=good customer service=good product=satisfied customers. Simple math!

  3. I was the first anon on the burger king post. I told the other patron to stop complaining. However, in this case, you did the right thing by complaining. I would file a complaint with the better business bureau, BK Corp, Maryland Dept. of Health. I would also tell as many ppl as possible.

  4. I would say to you posting these things about local businesses to be VERY careful.
IF you story is true...then you probably have nothing to worry about...BUT...if you are making up things just to get people talking...you could damage the businesses and be in real trouble.
Remember, just because you post anonymous, there are people that still know who you are.

  5. Pubic or head hair, makes no difference. It's unacceptable and the facility should be shut down!! What ever happened to routine Health Dept Inspections?? Did the Mayor cut their spending too?

  6. I can't believe someone posted a somewhat threatening response discouraging complaints. Please. Business owners should KNOW if their employees are tarnishing their name. In any event - I'm not scared.

The level of customer service overall in most (not all, but many) Salisbury businesses, especially food service and retail businesses, has really gotten pretty terrible.

I will say: Chris at the B&N Starbucks is amazing, friendly, and helpful; the Ace Hardware on College will even carry things to your car for you (remember THAT sort of service?); and while they aren't perfect, the Target store on 13 gets very high marks from me.

For fast food: yes, the Chick-fil-a is generally pretty good, and clean; the Pita Place on Business 13 is very polite, quick, and good food; the McDonalds in Fruitland and the new one on 50 by Ollie's are both clean and pretty friendly; for pizza, Red Door is pretty nice; and if you're just ordering a bagel or something, Panera isn't bad.

I suggest that if you have a terrible expereince somewhere, complain, and then QUIT SPENDING YOUR MONEY THERE. I no longer go to the Salisbury Lowes, the Rt 13 Dominos, Sam's Club, or the SuperFresh on College and 13. And post publicly when you have a GOOD experience, so that those businesses are rewarded for taking the time to hire and train good personnel.

You know what? If you stop patronizing the crappy places, they will eventually go out of business, and it really isn't all that big of a hassle - you will find that there are plenty of other local businesses happy to take your money instead.

You work for your money. Spend it somewhere worthwhile.

  8. Well early in the year I went to the 7-11 on 349 and 50 for a fountain drink and they had ants coming out of the dispenser. When I approached the clerk about it he said that you have to get the drink out a certain way in order to not get the ants in your drink. Well after that I immediately called the Health Department and they assigned a case number to it, went out the next day and inspected the machine. They called back and told me that they had seen the ants as well and ordered the store to completely clean the machine. Once it was done they called me back to inform me that it had been done. So call the Health Department with these issues people!!

  9. All I can say is: "CHIK-FIL-A! CHIK-FIL-A! CHIK-FIL-A!" Only safe place to eat fast food in Salisbury. Period.

  12. while we are all airing our grievances here, my girlfriend went and got food for us at the salsaritas in the superfresh shopping center on college ave a couple months ago and I bit into my taco salad and the chicken was completely raw and uncooked. We went back in there and they looked at us like we were nuts when we told them. The raw meat was a stark contrast to the ingredients that they usually have, where they look like they've been sitting there all day. Why I ever went to that place more than once is beyond me.

So what is your beef with Lowes? Just curious as I work there. And Lowes takes customer complaints very seriously. I cant believe lowes didnt resolve your complaint to yor satisfaction as they always strive for good customer service. What happened exactly? And please use your name as this will give some credibility to your story.
    Thanks
