IT'S SHOWTIME!

Hal Chernoff, Fernando Guerrero and their Team of Promoters held a Press Conference at the Black Diamond in Fruitland yesterday.

Their announcement wasn't new, just updated with excitement. Ticket Sales are going fantastic, thank you, all of you. I have been receiving calls all day long asking if I could provide ring side seats for friends. Here's the deal Folks. We have done everything possible to make sure everyone was aware of the discount that was available the first three days. Tickets are moving fast, (honestly) and you'll need to contact the Civic Center at 410-548-4911 and reserve your seats. There are maybe TWO ring side seats left.

As far as the fight goes, there may be 8 fights on the card that night. FOUR of the fights, the Boxers are Undefeated! Fernando will go up against Tyrone Watson from the Pittsburgh area who is also UNDEFEATED. Tyrone has a record of 7-0 while Fernando is now 9-0. I'm told Tyrone also fought in a heavier weight class, so we'll see what happens that evening. When Fernando was asked what he thought of this Fighter he replied, "He's got a good record and I'm glad I'm going to be the one to screw it up."

October 3rd is the big date Folks. Showtime will bring this fight home to millions upon millions of people. Sow your support and buy tickets for the Family and go out and see this event. Fernando had mentioned that many of the women that usually don't like fights would come to some of his fights in other states and they just loved seeing him fight.

Firefighters, Police Officers, Elks, VFW's, Rotary, you name it. Everyone get together and purchase your tickets so we can sell out this event. There are 6,000 tickets available for this fight. Don't wait until the last minute and be disappointed. Think about it. When this fight comes around and there aren't any seats available any longer, you're going to be ticked off. See You There!

  1. Great coverage Joe. Its nice to bring the attention to the local boxing gym and what it can do to help inspire young people in our community.

  2. joe , you are doing a bang up job. I hope the folks know that Main Street Gym is a non profit organization like the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club for example.

  3. I hope it's a sellout and Showtime is interested in returning here to Salisbury in the future, Lawd knows we need something upbeat about now!

Sounds like Fernando has hopes of the same, giving back to the community, he's an impressive young man. Outstanding priorities and expectations.

Thanks for all your hard work Fernando and Hal! Keep your right up LoL

  6. I liked Fernando's reply to the question about his opponent's undefeated record.

"I'm sorry I'm going to have to mess that up for him." I hope you ring his bell Fernando~!
