Although the judge has indicated he would rule that the owner of site of the old mall broke its contract obligation and order that Hovnanian could cancel their contract for development, that has not yet happened. And the court recently scheduled another round of legal argument by the attorneys to be held in a few weeks.
Stay tuned for more breaking news about this very unusual situation.
Did you actually think those people would give back that hefty deposit...unless they're MADE to?
ReplyDeleteAssuming, of course, that they HAVE it still. What a cluster-f**k that whole situation remains. It'll be years before any substantive progress takes place there. Local politicians with bad intent, developers with greedy intent, local officials without a clue. How could we expect anything else?
If the property was mine I would do my best to have it rezoned to Ag.because of the size of it and turn it into a massive pig farm. It seems to me every thing they tried to do there the jerks in the neighborhood cried about. Just think if you turned it into a pig farm it would bring a little country to the city. Not to Mention some country air to boot! The city council and Mare could then hold meetings there and be in good company with there own kind.
ReplyDeletePig farm is a great, the deal smelled like shit from the beginning.
