In Sundays Daily Times it says there are 134 Salisbury City Police Officers. This is certainly news to me. In the last budget request Chief Webster was looking for 2 new officers to bring the total i thought to around 90. O but thats right they lost 10 million dollars and Pam does the finances so of course they can't count.
When fully staffed SPD has 88 sworn officers.
ReplyDeleteand no where near 30 minority officers!
ReplyDeleteThey have lost a few to Crisfield PD.
ReplyDeleteFully staffed at 88 officers was fine for 1980 it doesn't work nearly 30 years later. Especially after 10 years of a do nothing chief of police and a do less mayor.
ReplyDelete134 - Is that counting seasonals too?
ReplyDeleteThe first mistake was taking anything that the Deadly Times prints as being true information.
ReplyDelete134 sounds like me as everyone employed by them from the chief down to the two janitors.
ReplyDeleteNews to me! Last I knew they were in the neighborhood of 87. Then you take away those who do not work the road and you don't have that many cops patroling. I'm sure those working the road would be very happy if the department had 134 officers.
ReplyDeletenot the number of cops. Its liek 87... then subtract detectives, vice squad, and bike patrol, and desk supervisors, and computer people, and 3rd floor, how many are left to work the road divided by 4 shifts?
