New York Renovator

Surprised? It’s happening again. A
“Our goal isn’t to acquire parcels,” said Jim Klajbor, special deputy city treasurer. “Our goal is to just collect taxes. . . . It is only as a last resort that we would pursue . . . foreclosure.”
I’m sorry Mr. Special Deputy City Treasurer. That might not be your INTENTION, but it certainly was your GOAL, because you DID IT. OK, so the homeowner, a Mr. Tubic, has not paid his parking ticket. How did he get that parking ticket, anyway?
Tubic first got the fine for parking his Ford E150 with no license plates in the driveway of the home, which belonged to his parents at the time. The radiator had broken and Tubic couldn’t get his plates renewed unless the van passed an emissions test. He didn’t have the money to make the repair and had more pressing worries, he said.
His father was suffering from dementia. His mother was battling cancer, and he was their live-in caretaker. He needed to shop, cook, clean, maintain the house and tend to his parents’ needs.
The van repair could wait, he thought.
Then a man from the city showed up and told him otherwise. It was February 2004. Tubic would have to move the van or get license plates for it within 30 days, per city zoning codes, the man said. Somebody had complained.
His van was without license plates and was parked in his driveway?! That’s it?! Where else is he going to park his own van until he fixes it? The city park? So now it’s illegal to park your own vehicle on your own property unless your vehicle meets government “emissions” guidelines and is registered by the government?? Argh!
Tubic is a 62-year old disabled man, on Social Security and “has been diagnosed with psychological disorders that limit his ‘ability to understand, remember and carry out detailed instructions,’ according to documents from the administration.” He has degenerative diseases of the knees and spine, and other ailments. The guy is in poor shape and is an emotional disaster. The poor guy! I really have compassion in him.
HOWEVER– even if the guy was a 250-pound, muscular and wealthy socialite with a Hitler-like moustache, NO ONE’S HOME SHOULD EVER BE CONFISCATED LIKE THIS! It makes me so angry! I don’t want to rehash all the other posts I’ve written about this subject– you can read more about it on my post, How To Create a Serfdom, which is exactly what the government and their fascist corporations are doing to us. These tyrants are just DROOLING, waiting for the moment when they can seize our properties, aren’t they?? Couldn’t they have taken the guy’s CAR, since it was a parking ticket? Couldn’t they have revoked his license, or something? P.S. Tubic did continue to pay his property taxes.
Just remember what Thomas Jefferson said would happen to us if we continue to allow these bullies to keep this up: “If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.” Thomas Jefferson
In Salisbury you can't park in your own yard w/o getting ticketed.
ReplyDeleteThis is true in Pocomoke as well. As a matter of fact, a man was just recently arrested and brutalized for having two project cars for his 15 year old twin boys.
ReplyDeleteJust like most of us; working poor man who wanted his kids to have a car when they got their liscenses and not have a car payment. All at the same time having them know how to work on their own cars.
This all happening when an illegally sitting city councilman had dozens of cars between his house and business.
Maryland just celebrated National Night Out to take back our streets from the Criminals. I think we may have our sites set in the wrong direction, as it seems some of the true Criminals just may be at City Hall.
You're right, most of the true criminals are at city hall, whether it be Pocomoke or Salisbury.
ReplyDeleteWymzie,
ReplyDeleteI responded to your concerns of last night in the comment section of your Bush post. I trust you had time to my response and found it satisfactory.
On to today: I read Thoreau’s “Walden” last night and this quote from the chapter “The Village” chapter seems to fit in with your post of today. “One afternoon, near the end of the first summer, when I went to the village to get a shoe from the cobbler’s, I was seized and put into jail because…I did not pay a tax to, or recognize the authority of, the state, which buys and sells men, women and children like cattle at the door of its senate house. I had gone down to the woods for other purposes. But, wherever a man goes, men will pursue and paw him with their dirty institutions…It is true that I might have resisted forcibly…and might have run amok against society; but I preferred that society run amok against me, it being the desperate party… I was never molested by any person but those who represented the state.” (Thoreau)
Also, in conjunction with your quote from Jefferson: I haven’t read this letter for 20 years. I used to have a photographic memory and a photogenic body; I no longer have either, so I paraphrase: “I sincerely believe that banking institutions are more dangerous than standing armies, and that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity under the name of funding is swindling on a grand scale.” (Jefferson)
10:32am. thats bs. salisbury cops will not give tickets if your vehicle is parked in your own yard. But,,if you are in a housing development that has stipulations,HOA,then yeah. Your prob a fat person who soaks up checks once a month.
ReplyDeletewho owns the banks???
ReplyDeleteThat's one side of the story ,
ReplyDeletemaybe more than meets the eye.
Should have paid the ticket ,
he was warned.

Warned not to park inhos own driveway?
who owns the banks???
The shareholders whom are mostly Bildebergers and Illuminati.
Don't any of you people realize that the Federal Reserve Bank who prints US currency is a privately owned bank?
The Federal Reserve Act and the Internal Revenue Act were passed during a lame duck session of Congress and signed by an outgoing second term president, AFTER being soundly defeated for decades.
The Federal Reserve Bank was created at the same time as the 'League of Nations' after the 'War to End all Wars'

In Pocomoke City the same Police Department that protects the "approved" drug dealers will arrest you for complaining about them removing an untagged car from your private property.
Unless your name is City Councilman Honiss Cane (The alleged God Father of the Pocomoke Drug Cartel) who had 12 to 14 untagged vehicles junking up his Pocomoke City properties that the Pocomoke Tattler has been publishing pictures of since 2005.
The only way the citizens of Pocomoke were able to have Cane's junk cars removed was by filing an official complaint with the Maryland Municipal League the day after Pocomoke City Chief of Police was re-elected as President of the Maryland law enforcement officers association.
Can you imagine that the State of Maryland has a Chief of Police who is allegedly 'partners' with the Cane Cocaine Cartel and presides over the State law enforcement officers association. Talk about an embarrassing situation for each and every decent cop in the State.
Back to the issue at hand, the Pocomoke City Police Department has arrested a handicapped man while he protested the removal of his untagged cars and used excessive force against him, denied medical treatement while he was in custody.
You're right, most of the true criminals are at city hall, whether it be Pocomoke or Salisbury.
This statement is 100% correct. In Pocomoke the government is openly corrupt in Salisbury they are a bit more covert and I don't think that any City Councilmen are actively involved in the Crack Cocaine trade.
The Mayor is a Deputy Sheriff with rose colored glasses who says "all is well crime is down in Pocomoke City..." While preparing for the Governor to use P-city as capitol for a day next week.
The bottom line is the government is allowed to violate the law, politicians are allowed to violate the same laws that regular citizens have their property seized and sold over.
While crooked police departments who only answer to a crooked City Manager who answers to no one, protect the open air drug market...
All because the money flows back to city hall to line the pockets of a few greedy scumbag politicians.

capitalism in a constant state of spin.
ReplyDeleteYes, Mr. Littleton,
ReplyDeleteYour response has redeemed yourself in my fuzzy mind, and I thank you for showing me the soft side of your online personality.
Yes, I do expect that my opinions t expressed on this blog are up for critisism.
However,I, as you have pointed out and used as some sort of justification for disagreeing with me, am a woman. As a woman sometimes I will take things more personally than others, and that just the way it is.
I couldn't agree more with Thoreau's observation of those in life whom he ran into the most problems. This probably rings true with most people today; whether they are aware of it or not.
As my Grandfather always says "Government has historically been the oppressor of it's people".
And it continues today.
Wymzie,
ReplyDeleteThanks. When I write abrasive comments, I really am just having fun with a fictional character on the other end. I am very sorry if I caused hurt to the person behind Wymzie.
When someone attacks what I have written, I love it and can't wait to write a response. The topics are serious, but the writing is in fun, at least for me.
I had a running "feud" with another woman on a blog a couple of years ago. The exchange got intense and heated. She was so much smarter than I! She was delightfully merciless in written combat and completely eviscerated me. I love her for it!
I still don't see things her way, but as a thinker and writer, she just blew me out of the water! How could I not respect that?
Anyway, that's where I learned the picking on writing mistakes thing. I adoped it as a tactic because I took notice of how effective it was against me. If you check over things I have written, you will see how absurd it is for me to use such a tactic, since I, myself, am such a flawed writer:)
Anyway,I'm sorry to have caused a lady pain. I wasn't viewing you a
lady, but as a thinker and writer with whom to get into rough and tumble debate.
I you don't object, I will continue to comment on your posts while treating you like a lady.
