Mercedes Loses
Yesterday in Berlin, an elderly Lady decided to park on Main Street. She pulled into what is obviously a ton of space to fit, yet she slammed into this Motorcycle and sent it flying. Fortunately no one was on the Bike.
Here's where it gets interesting. She parked her vehicle, got out of the car and instantly went shopping. (Click on the image to enlarge and see just how much room she really had)
In the mean time, people started calling the Police to report the accident. By the time they showed up, the woman had returned to her Mercedes, got in the car just as the Police were pulling up and took off!
Fortunately they did get her tag number as well as the names of several witnesses but quite frankly, that took a lot of nerve. It's not like she had no clue she hit the Motorcycle!
Heck, who knows, maybe it was her husband's Bike and she found him cheating on her?
omg!! This happened to me in the mall parking lot... same situation only I was on my bike and the women cut me off and made me drop my bike and she went about her business... didn't even stop to see if I was okay. Thank goodness for a witness who got her tag number. To make long story short.. she was not from the United States and apparently did not know to stop at a scene of an accident. Her husband was the communicator in the settlement!! We settled out of court... If I remember correctly they lived in the Berlin area! Looks like she got a new car!!
ReplyDeleteyet another example of why elderly people shouldn't be allowed to drive
ReplyDeletedon't know the person but she does not need to continue driving even though it appears see can afford the tickets and added insurance costs. I hope for her and her family's health the Town of Berlin requires her to be examined by the good folks at DMV
ReplyDeleteIf the police showed up while she was leaving, why didn't they stop her? I don't believe the Berlin police force "walks the beat"! Could it have been it was someone they knew and chose to ignore it? There were a lot of "out of town" bikers touring Berlin yesterday.
ReplyDeleteIs that Louise Smiths mercedes?
ReplyDeleteJoe...
ReplyDeleteI am curious. Was the bike parked illegally. Where it is sitting in the picture is clearly painted yellow. The driver may have pushed the bike into this area but if not, I wonder if the bike got ticketed.
Just wondering...

Why don't you just wonder your dumb ass out of here. You're an idiot!
If the bike was illegally parked I'm sure it got ticketed. HAPPY?! (wrecked too! happier?!)
Not often does a biker get the same consideration that owners of fancy cars do, or at least that's been my experience.

ReplyDelete"Where it is sitting in the picture is clearly painted yellow."
And so is the Mercedes if you didn't notice - or does that expensive car make you color blind?
Obviously you're the type of JERK that believes two wrongs make a right.
A few years ago i was parked on the side of the road in fruitland doing some work. a korean lady backed out of her driveway backed in to the trailer then pulled foward and backed back into my trailer then motioned to me to move my truck and trailer. Some people just do not need to be on the road if they can not figure out how to proficently operate a motor vehicle.
ReplyDelete2:08--Take a better look at the picture. Try clicking on it to enlarge it. The Mercedes is NOT parked along the yellow curb. It ends at her front bumper. From this photo, you can't determine if the bike was already on the yellow or was pushed onto it. And yes, I am a former CSI from another state.
ReplyDeleteI was there ...she acted like she had no Fing clue....looked at bike went shopping....a couple called cops and by the time he started walking up to the bike she was n her car pullin out once again she had no clue a cop was yelling at her. not sure about yellow lines a illegally parking but that whole side of the street was filled with cars.

8:33 - If this is how you investigated accident scenes it's no wonder you're, "former CSI from another state."
Please don't make these type statements publicly in this state because people will laugh at your dumb a$$.
ARE YOU COLOR BLIND?!
Is it just me or do very old people ALWAYS drive big heavy cars like Crown Vics,Buick Roadmasters and Mercedes?I have a theory about that-its so when they cause an accident they will still be safe lol.Seriosuly, old people always drive tanks.Do not get me started on how bad foreign people drive.Reminds me of the old joke-how do you blind a foreigner?Put a windshield in front of them-hardy har har LOL
ReplyDeleteThe readers have totally lost sight of what happened here. It isn't about whether or not the bike was parked in the yellow zone. It was probably parked correctly but was pushed into the no parking area by a HIT AND RUN DRIVER!
ReplyDeleteI live in Berlin and that motorcycle is parked around that same spot almost all the time. The person who owns it probably lives in one of the apartments above the stores. Plus that whole curb is painted yellow all the way down. Everyone parks there.
ReplyDeleteSo, what's the moral? If you want that guy's spot and you have a bigger vehicle, just knock him from here to next Tuesday and take his spot???
