Dear State Highway Administration:

I'm writing you on behalf of the Taxpayers in Maryland and Wicomico County wondering just how much free time you allow Mr. Gary Comegys ON THE CLOCK to visit all these Council Meetings during normal business hours?

You see, Gary is on many Boards that meet during business hours and week days, MML Meetings, Humane Society, Zoo Commission, Campaigning for his Council Seat and several other Boards as well. Rumor has it he'll be running for Mayor as well.

As a major Taxpayer myself in Maryland, I'd like to know why this man can get off so much free time. In the near future I am going to ask through the Freedom Of Information Act just how much time Mr. Comegys has taken off. Today he spent a few hours hanging out in a County Council Meeting and it was pre planned because the Council President recognized Mr. Comegys in the beginning of the Meeting as one of the dignitaries present.

Considering the Mayor's job is a FULL TIME position, will he be resigning from the SHA? Is there a special benefit the SHA is receiving from the City having Mr. Comegys attend all these meetings while on the clock?

Perhaps a schedule from Mr. Comegys stating his involvement with such mentioned Boards and the time of day he attended all these meetings, with a schedule he's listed as having as an employee of the State, I think it's high time the truth come out as I feel there is quite a bit of questionable payroll going out of the Taxpayers pocket unaccounted for?

  1. Wont have to worry about getting my vote! At least not for Mr. Comegy's. Just hope we have some good ones running for Mayor.

  3. I've been wondering about this myself.

He's been doing this for years.

I've heard that Donnie Drewer is his immediate boss and I have come to have absolutely no respect for this kind of supervision, or lack thereof.

Donnie should go to because Gary was suppose to be accountable to him and there is overwhelming evidence that this type of job complacency shouldn't exist.

  4. Finally, someone has brought this up. I have a relative that works for the SHA and only works 4 hours a day--out at 8:30 and in at 12:00. Has a truck with gas and so much leave time it would make your head spin. These people are working way part-time and getting paid full time and getting full time benefits. Amazingly, they feel entitled to it. Where is the accountability. If you worked private enterprise you only get paid for what you work--no more and no less.

  5. Just looking at him makes me want to throw up. What a yo-yo. He is only good for "standing around" on a job anyway.

  6. Thank the Unions and the Good Ole Boy system. Between the two it is impossible to fire the lazy bums. Not only that but the lazy bums and members of the Good Ole Boys are the ones who get the promotions. How are you going to change that, whether its CIty, County or State. The good workers who try to do right always get the screws. That is why nobody does anymore than they are made to do. I retired from State service so I know what I am talking about.

  7. like i said, his boss is guilty of the same thing so why make waves? Nothing will be done about it no matter who you contact. they do as they please and they make their rules as they go along so they never need to play fare

drewer and comegys are perfect examples of state funded welfare, much better than the fed plan. money, gas and paid time off for doing nothing anyway

  8. Was there something on the county council agenda that relates to the Planning and Zoning Commission?

That's the chair of the P&Z on the left, and on the other side of Gary, I think that guy is a commissioner, too. So, what's the P&Z commission's interest in today's goings on?
