Call Congress Back!

Democrats care so much for us that they went home to campaign for re-election and left us with $4.00 gas prices.

SIGN THE PETITION

CALL CONGRESS BACK! - NOW

  1. Are you blaming the entire congress or just the Democrats...thus giving up all pretense of objectivity.

  2. Gas is $3.62 at Sam's not $4.00.

  3. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, hit the gavel early last Friday morning and dismissed Congress. She did so with rouring outcry from the Republican side of the aisle saying that they needed to stay and pass a bill on the energy crisis instead of going on a 5 week vacation. She did everything she could to keep the a vote from being brought to the floor including having the lights and microphones turned off!! Then she and the Dem's left!
This is the most important issue facing Americans all over the country, and the Democratic Congress that promised 'Change' hasn't done anything!
Additionally, President Bush has the power to call Congress back into session, yet he has not seen it necessary to do so. If you want to make sure Washington is hearing you sign this petition and call the White House and let them know you want the President to call them back. The number at the White House is 202-456-1111, and if you would rather email the President you can email him at comments@whitehouse.gov
So do your part today and while your at it call Congressman Gilchrest and let him know who he works for, and that you need him to get back to work and come up with a solution to this crisis! 202-225-5311

who has control of the Congress? who called the recess? who is waiting till the last minute to accomplish things the American people want done now? why? they are trying to influence the General Election in their favor. quess what, it will backfire. I know a lot of people who are saying they will remeber this and which party that is doing this atrocity against the American people

  5. to wymzie,

The most important issue facing Americans? Have you forgotten about being at war in two countries? This is another stunt by Republicans and you are falling for it. Get yourself informed. Were you aware of the details of this stunt? Your precious Republican minority blocked and refused to vote on funding our troops in harms way so that they could perpetuate this charade. You arebeing manipulated with misinformation.

  6. OK Anon,
Maybe not the most important thing, but pretty significant.
National surveys show that Americans right now are more concerned about paying their credit cards and the carpayments instead of their house payments just so they can keep the jobs that they have.
    This is pathetic!
The whole this is f'dd up and until people are willing realize the 'big' picture of these problems at least encourage them to get involved and call congress to work out an energy bill.

  7. 9:38, You act as though the GOP has never played partisan politics or anything like that. The Congress HAS sent energy bills to the Senate. They did so just back in June but the Republicans filibustered and refused to pass it. If we the people are uspet w/ Congress or the Senate, then it should be w/ the body as a whole. They could have comprimised by now and worked out a solution but both sides are so stubborn and have lost sight of the country as a whole. If you just want to blame everything on a few people or put it all on one party then you are no better than the people you accuse. Both parties are to blame for the disfunction in Govt.

As fas as vacation, dont they ALWAYS take 5 weeks? Pretty sure they do. Ronald Regan has the Presidental record for vacation days(436 to be exact) which means he was basically on the job only 85% of the time. George W. Bush is on pace to beat that record though(he only needs about two more weeks).

But it would be nice if Congress were still there working as hard as the rest of us. Isn't politics fun?

  8. If you are a regular reader of SbyNews you will see that I have said over and over that 'there is not a dimes worth of difference between the two parties'!
They are both full of crap and have manipulated the the people of this country to fight amongst themselves defending these jerks.
This fighting amongst ourselves keeps us occupied while they do exactly what they want to do to line their pockets and see their supporters get the contracts and jobs that they bargained for. All of this while legislating away our personal liberties.
Where were you guys the other week when FISA got passed?

I can't remember. Check with the CIA or the Bush Administration. Sounds like they are keeping tabs.

  10. 2cents,
Come on tell me you like all of your communications being monitored, tell me you like that....

  11. Of course not. Why would anyone like it? But it seems like a fact of life. Seems like ANYTHING you do or say has the potential to end up on youtube anyway. I think the bad guys know this and thats why they live in caves and communicate with carrier pigeons. Besides, at least NOW we know what is going on. Didn't Bush originally initate this program in secret? That's the real problem. What were they hiding? And how many other laws have they broken?
