Another Pet Owner Speaks Out, HELP!

"Distraught Pet Owner

I am writting to notify ALL pet owners of some very disturbing information regarding a local Veterinary Office.

Recently one of our animals died while in the care of Dr. Nolte @ Chesapeake Animal CLinic, after a very normal, routine procedure. Since this, we have heard from several other pet owners that their pets have also died in his care either during or after a routine procedure. Several of which have pursued it further legally.

Although at this time we have no intention of pursuing it legally, we have contacted the State Bd of Veterinary Examiners. They have informed us that in order for them to proceed further, and look into his practice ALL complaints/concerns MUST be submitted in writting to their main office in Annapolis.

WBOC & WMDT are both looking in to this now as well. One of these stations is even meeting with Dr. Runde (head of the Veterinary Examiners Office today). If this is something that happens while in his care on a regular basis then we need to act in order to have his office closed.

Please, if you have had ANY trouble with your pet while in the care of Chesapeake Animal Clinic send your concern/complaint to: MD State Dept. Bd of Veterinary Examiners, 50 Harry S Truman Parkway, Annapolis MD 21401. You can reach them by phone @ 410.841.5862. You can also fax your complaint to 410.841.5999 Attn: Dr. Runde.

Thank you all for your time & support!"

  2. I am so glad you posted this!!! It's time people really see this man for what he is, a animal killer!! It's sad that people have not been made aware sooner but hopefully with the help of you something can be done about this man. To all pet owners....there is a reason this vet is so cheap...now people are finally realizing why!

  4. To be fair i have been using Dr. Nolte for some 16 years now and have never had a problem. Not saying that these things are not true, just not true to me.

  5. Dr Nolte has taken care of several of my animals including a horse over the past fifteen years. Over this period of time Dr Nolte has been nothing but professional. At the present time I have 1 dog, 2 cats and a horse under his care. I would recommend Dr Nolte to anyone in this area.

  6. Looks like the employees of this Veterinary Office are in damage control?

I'll tell you what, if you want any credibility, put your name to your comments in support of Dr. Nolte.

If you refuse to do so, well, we'll knolw you're simply one person sending in the same messages over and over again. Heck, for all we know you could even be empoloyees of the Salisbury Zoo.

  7. "I'll tell you what, if you want any credibility, put your name to your comments in support of Dr. Nolte. "

This is your ords Joe. How come none of the people bashing Dr. Nolte have their names on the posts?

  8. I too have been using him for several years and have never had any such trouble personally.

That being said, my mother-in-law (who also has used him for 10+ years)...one of her dogs recently died there while in his care. Since this, both she and I have had numerous phone calls from lots of other pet owners who have given us their horror stories of the same thing happening to their pets while in, or recovering from a normal procedure at his office. We hope that this NEVER happens to anyone else, and she will be submitting her complaint in writting to the address provided.

As the original post states, we also hope that this is looked in to further and if there is a pattern...we hope that something is done about it!

  9. Thank you for that timely reply. Obviously there is some damage control going on here.

Look, what I'm saying here is, all of a sudden within minutes, not hours, not days, all of these comments started flying in out of nowhere in support of Nolte. I have been doing this for 3 years now and I know when I smell a rat.

There are many people who would not like to ADMIT they may have been snookered by a Veterinarian and were even perhaps foolish enough to use him to care for their animals.

Many of these people, (if not ALL of them) love their animals like their own children. I know I wouldn't want to put my name up there.

However, in your case, you allegedly CLAIM to have these animals and IF it's the truth, put your name up there so your neighbors and friends can either support you and agree that Nolte has done a wonderful job OR perhaps those same neighbors and friends might say, they're full of sh!t, they don't even own a pet?

Get my drift now? If YOU want ANY credibility, use your name and be proud that you use Dr. Nolte. Till then, you're the same person writing in the few comments in support of this Vet. IMHO, IF Nolte was such a GREAT Veterinarian, the comments would be coming in by the hundreds anyway. I know if I were to mention Dr. Trage and his ability to treat animals well, the comments from that Post would draw in people by the hundreds. So where's all of Nolte's support?????

  10. I never "bashed" him, I simply stated the obvious of an undisputable problem. I have always used him as my vet and have never had trouble personally, as you see from my previous post...but if you want my name, I will give it to you...if that makes a difference in the truth. I will also give you the names and ages of 5 pets that have died in his care (that I know of for a fact) if that would make a difference too.

We just want EVERYONE to be more cautious with all of this finally coming out. If someone had said something sooner, possibly a lot more pet owners would still have their pet...

    Signed-
    Heather, Salisbury MD

  11. How many Heathers are in Salisbury alone?

You want creditability Joe? You should ask for full names from both sides of the fence, otherwise it is bias. Easy as that.

  12. Dr. Palmer and the Berlin Animal hospital are about the same as Notle's place. I would not take a dead dog there.

Just within a small group of friends, they have misdiagnosed a cat (said it had a broken spine) that actually had rabies (and it had been there to get its shots). Apparently they forgot one.

I have seen a litter of pups with parvo put on the scales, which were then not disinfected before another animal was placed on it.

They did not report a case of rabies in a puppy from West Ocean City, and they gave my dearest friend the wrong dead dog to bury.

One of their former vets was medicating herself and lost her license.

I have many more horror stories about that place, and I do know that they have been turned into the state and were in trouble for refusing to give precriptions to animal owners for heartworm meds, etc.

  13. Maybe you should start watching the news more often if you are looking for "credibility". It's hard to dispute the facts. Why does it matter what her first, middle, or last name is? What would you do with that information, find her in the phone book? Google her? Facts, are facts, any way you look at them!

No one ever said that every animal he treated has died. As Heather of Salisbury stated, hers too is still alive.

I also know of people that have had a pet die in his care after a routine procedure, how about just considering yourself "one of the lucky ones"...as I'm sure she does.

  14. I called the number posted this morning. The woman stated that Dr. Runde is not at that office. I told her about my complaint and that it happened about 20 years ago. She stated that Dr. Nolte only has to keep records for 3 years. She also said she has not received one phone call regarding Dr. Nolte. She seemed defensive when I asked questions.

  15. I'm not sure who you spoke with when you called but this original post was written by my mother-in-law, whom lives nearly an hour away and has used him for 10+ years and never had a problem until monday, when her dog died in his care after a normal procedure. I know for a fact that they have had many more than one phone call regarding his office. Dr. Runde interviewed with WMDT this week, the fax # listed is for him at a seperate office. I don't know who you spoke to or why they said that b/c this has apparently been an ongoing issue that we were unaware of until my in-laws lost their 'baby' on Monday. The lady with the horse that was on WMDT news yesterday was just talking with them yesterday and had to fax in her information, and another friend of mine (who didn't know I was using him as our vet) just told me (when I told her of my in-laws dog) that her mother's cat died in his care 2 years ago and her complaint is listed on the St Bd list. He was found at fault of the cats death as well as was made to pay her. I am sorry of your loss and encourage you to call again and speak with someone else if you have a valid complaint on his, or any other office.
