  3. Obama SUCKS!

Wake up dumbasses, America is done, what country can I move to when he gets in office.

  4. If you compare their tax plans side by side families making less than $160,000 a year will pay the same or less in taxes under Obama. 60% of the population, families that make less than $66,000, will pay significantly lower taxes under Obama's plan than McCain's plan. McCain's plan really only starts to benefit those whose income reaches $230,000. But most of the benefit in McCain's plan is for those that make over $600,000 a year, or the top 1% of the population.

  5. Great idea 11:01...Lets punish businesses so they can send more money to Washington. Then, with their freshly depleted bank account, they will gladly give you that fat raise you want so badly!

  7. I won't get the raise. I insurance shop and trust me State Farm is not the cheaper or better quality insurance, like many of the old insurance companies. The young business owners are reaching out to the consumer in fairness and quality and leaving the good ole boys club in the dust. The consumers are demanding better quality and pricing. The only reason their bank accounts will be depleated is because they are losing customers.

How about one that doesn't care about sentence formation and punctuation? At least you got one thing right...the part about him getting into office!

  9. let see: an insurance agent against Obama. Gee wonder why they would want to continue things the way they are, guess we know who is doing well.

  10. Obama will lower taxes for virtually everyone who is reading this blog. McCain has admitted he will not. McCain went right to the negative ads after promising he wouldn't, and he is already looking tired. McCain wants to spend billions more in Iraq, for a country that is making billions in its oil fields but won't use it for their own infrastructure. Just because you've voted Republican before doesn't mean you have to vote Republican in this case. Vote in your own best interest, vote for Obama.

  12. Obama and his racist wife are full of more lies and crap than the Clintons. More government in our lives is not the answer! More involvement for our own concerns by us is! Stop sitting down whith your hand out and asking the government to do eberything for you and get off your rear end and do for yourself! Are we a nation of Katrina victims or Mid west flood victims?? I notice the mid-west flood vics haven't complained much at all but rather rallied to help themselves! Follow their lead!

First of all it looks like you are the racist with you comparisons. I was a single mother and raised two children all by myself, without help from the government and fought everyday to keep up with where their father was to get child support. I am sick and tired of people taking advantage of me and you should be too. I am a registered republican and have watch a government most of my life that has done little or nothing to at least take my feelings into consideration and make me feel like my voice matters. I believe that there is a chance that Obama can make a difference. Is he perfect, no. None of us are, but I believe he does have our best interest at heart and will do the best he can. I do not believe that is McCains intentions. So, if you think that everyone who is voting for Obama is a katrina victim, scam artist, low life, wanting a handout you are WRONG!!

  14. You go, 2:45! I'm tired of people thinking that Republicans are the party of fiscal responsibility--look at what happened to the deficit under CEO Reagan and CEO Bush. I'm also tired of people complaining about gov't benefits. You want to talk about the biggest welfare recipients in this country? It is those farmers in the Midwest!!! They get HUGE gov't subsidies, far more than any Katrina victim. So part of the reason they aren't complaining is that the federal government has been propping them up for generations--they have been given so much federal aid that they, unlike many of the Katrina victims, could afford to go to college, afford to relocate, or afford to apply for more gov't loans to pay for a new combine. So when you all start bashing people with their hands out to the gov't coffer, there are two images that should be in your head: Midwestern farmers, and CEO's in $1,000 suits. Poor people are far down the line. Vote Obama for at least a CHANCE at a change.

    No farmers = No food.

Combines are expensive (think, $145,000) and it's doubtful anyone here could afford a new one without assistance... most people can't afford a $20,000 car without taking a loan...

Before equating farmers to welfare recipients take a look in the kitchen and bless the farmers that grew the food that is there.

The other reason why Midwesterners "aren't complaining" is because they are in a rural area (less population displaced) that gets forgotten about once out of mainstream media loop whereas Katrina displaced an entire region (huge population displaced) including a huge metropolitan area.

As far as college goes... if people want to go they can go... there is no such thing as "can't" When people say "I can't" they are really saying "I won't." (Most good schools actually don't cost that much to attend anymore (not free, just cheaper) because their financial aid packages are more generous...)

  16. In one McCain ad I heard recently, it mentions the last 4 years and how bad they were and how he will change that. Huh? How? Doesn't he realize that the last 4 years were under a Republican? I'm not an Obama fan. I'm not a Hillary fan. But I'm sure not a McCain fan!

  17. Lets think for a second about the companies that will see tax increases under obama. Proctor Gamble, Nabisco, EXXON, WalMart, etc. That means everything that we buy will go up in price. How do they pay for these higher taxes? Raise the prices of their products. This will happen to businesses in salisbury as well. Raising taxes on the companies that keep us afloat is an insanely bad idea. Hell I would rather see my taxes go up before that happens. I have a great idea, get rid of welfare, social security, and medicare. Then we could cut taxes dramatically. The bleeding hearth ideals of making everyone elses lives better will detroy us in the end. Fiscal responsibility starts by saying 75% of mandatory spending is a mistake. Lets ruin our country by supporting Obama and more specifically what he stands for.

  18. Why is it that Republicans are pro-capitalist unless it comes to food? No gov't subsidies for farmers does not mean there will be no food. Aren't you guys all "supply and demand" fans? Oh, I forgot. Consistency isn't really big for the republicans. Farmers are welfare recipients--there is absolutely no argument you can make against that, you just call it something different to feel better about it. The facts are there--farmers get paid huge amounts of money to stay in their jobs, or to NOT do their jobs--plow under or destroy their crops. Now I'm not begrudging them that, but it irks me when people get all self-righteous and launch attacks on "liberals" giving out "handouts" to the poor, when far more of our money is going to subsidize farming. Kinda like socialism, isn't it? The government paying guys to plant certain things at certain times, or not to plant certain things? You all freak out about "socialized" medicine, when we live in a country that practices something darn close to "socialized" farming. And what REALLY irks me is that corporate farms are getting the gov't subsidies that were intended to save the family farms. Once again, helping out corporations rather than the poor guys. Vote Democratic!

Not our fault you're a single mother with two kids, the old man most likely was smart to take a powder on you. Just get a little sick of all the crying "I'm a single parent". Again not my fault, yours! If you're so lame that you can't find some one to be with or you're such a loser that you can't raise you kids without government help don't waist our time with your sob stories. Go get a job or two and take care of yourself.

  20. I've been reading threads like these for several months now on this blog and I have to admit that I'm very afraid. People seem to just be worried about "my tax break" and can't see the forest for the trees. When your boss lays your sorry ass off because he can't afford to stay in business any longer, when the price of your diet soda at Wal-Mart is out of reach and you can't afford to drive there anyway since gas is $10 per gallon and the dollar is worthless, go cry to your messiah Obama and see if he "feels your pain".

You said it right-get rid of all the entitlement programs.BUT .....the government wants people to be dependent or they would not offer all those goodies....and thousands of government employees would be put of work if the welfare office shut down.Social Security is supposed to be for old people but more and more it seems to just be another entitlement. You would not believe the number of people out there getting disability benefits from our government whose only obvious handicap is that they drink cheap whiskey all day every day.If you are well enough to drink all day and sell your food stamps to buy more booze, you can work.

Obviously Mr. d ruts n, you can't read either. My point to Janice is that Not everyone voting for Obama needs government assistance. I WAS a single mother raising two children without government help. My daughter graduated from college with a BS in education and my son is a engineering designer. I own my own successful business and have done all of it on no assitance. We are sucessful (no sob stories here) and look forward to seeing Obama as our next president.

  24. Great thread so far. Totally funny! These posts for example:
    7:38 PM
    7:07 PM
    2:12 PM
And especially 5:56 PM with comments like: "The bleeding hearth ideals of making everyone elses lives better will detroy us in the end." This just cracks me up! Good ole Eastern Shore redneck riiight thaar!! This person must have their head so far up their you know what, I cant even fathom. Its like: "Yeah, F everyone!!" They obviously have never read Socrates, Plato, or Aristotle. They havent a clue about any type of religious thought. They have no concept of humanity and the interconnectedness of the world. ALL religions, from Buddism to Christianity, to Native American spirituality hold to principles of helping one another. Matthew 7:12 "Do unto other as you would have them do unto you." C'mon Republicans, you are supposed to be the ultra-religious party(you definitely are ultra-righteous). After all, isnt it "One Nation Under God"? Maybe if more people thought about that a little, we could get our counrty back on track.
