An Anonymous Comment Came In About The Sheriff's Department

"Well Joe since you decided to post this story, how about you write a story about how sheriff's deputies are pissed because Mike Lewis is letting Jason Chance come back to work after all of his comments he made back during the whole Davis Ruark incident. Where is that story Joe???? I thought you were supposed to expose all that was corrupt in the city and county? Didn't Mike Lewis make the comment that one his deputies would be fired no questions asked. Grow some Joe and post a story about that!!!!! But you won't because you're all buddy buddy with Mike and god forbid you get on his bad side." The "story" they're referring to is the Gordy story.

Let me answer that question point blank for you. The Officer you mention was suspended WITH PAY! This Officer was bragging to EVERYONE about how he was out ENJOYING his paid time off surfing at the Beach and all sorts of other activities AT THE TAXPAYERS EXPENSE!

Sheriff Lewis got wind of this going on and made a fiscally responsible decision to get his a$$ back to work pushing paper because this Officer was smacking everyone in the face and laughing at them.

My hat is tipped to Sheriff Lewis for making such a responsible decision and if ANY of the Officers, (as you claim) are pissed off because Sheriff Lewis brought him back, they need to look for work elsewhere.

Now get back to work Lordy!

  3. Deputy Chance made a mistake in judgement and hardly think firing him would have been fair.. Yes he was lucky no one was hurt, but i agree he is better served being useful at work then just firing him..

  4. he probably still has to go to a disiplinary meeting/hearing and deal with whatever is decided in this meeting/hearing. mike brought him back until this meeting so the tax payers would not be paying for someone to be having fun in the sun during summer. this is smart managing, if your paying him then he should have to work at a capacity that is warranted until the whole situation is handled. fired not fired what-ever. mike,(sherriff) good work, good leadership.

  5. It's amazing how people can jump to conclusions without knowing the entire story. Great work again Joe!!

Why would we be paying this officer to start with. He was drinking, he ran into somebody's car and left which is hit and run...so why did Mike not fire him like he said he was going to. Talk about nuts!

  7. Because you're INNOCENT before proven guilty. This is the United States of America, you know.

  8. thats right you little word repeater, you spend time copying what everyone else says then formulatting your own opinions, its like having to wipe your ass with leaves buddy.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Joe is right. He has to be convicted of the charges before he can be fired for the charges.

    Duh.

And IF the guy was bragging about fun in the sun on the taxpayer's dime, he won't find it so funny when all of this affects his career opportunities. I'd hate to think anyone who screwed up like he did would be anything but humbled, ashamed, and looking to make amends, so I don't know whether that was true or not, but sounds like Mike Lewis was on top of it.

  10. YOU CAN"T BE FOUND INNOCENT WHEN YOU ADMIT IT...ASK RAY LEWIS.

    ReplyDelete
  11. You guys have no idea...what's really going on in that office...Just wait and see, I'll leave it at that.

    ReplyDelete
  12. He is not driving a County vehicle, of that I have first hand knowledge.

    ReplyDelete
  13. In my opinion, the good far outweighs the bad with this
    Officer. I'm in aggreement
    Sheriff Lewis made the right
    decision in putting him back
to work. We pay Sheriff Lewis
    to make critical decisions. Let
    him do his job!

  14. I agree! You see Joe has those balls that are adjustable, and on top of those rare balls he is the owner of this blog which gives him the right to post anything he wants opinions. If it doesn't suit
or support his so called "buddy's" then he refuses to post the topic. That's why a blog is full of opinion. Joe's!

  17. Mike Lewis is the best thing that ever happened to this county. If there are deputies that are upset that's hard for me to believe because i know several of them and when i ask them how they like working for the best Sheriff in the USA if not the world they all say they love it. The few and I mean few people in this county that try to give Mike a bad name are just jealous and they can't stand that this man is a national icon at such a young age. Mike Lewis is to police work what Lance Armstrong is to cycling. Sheriff Lewis is a blessing to this county and the few who try to give him a bad name should grow up.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I don't think Joe is worried about getting on Mike's bad side although we know they are friends.
Why would you be afraid of Mike Lewis? I abide by the law so he better think twice before he comes after me.

    ReplyDelete
  19. 2:45..he is no better than Sheriff Nelms period.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hey 2:45 do you know the one that wrote this topic? Obviously not! How many of those officers are going to admit they have a problem with it? That would put them in the "OUT" group if you know what I mean. And by the way..I live on the same street with two of them and they both have a problem with it. The guy should have been fired..HE ADMITTED IT! How innocent is that? Explain..

    ReplyDelete
  21. There is a solution to all of this. Those of you that don't like the way Mike Lewis is doing his job, running the department. I say to you, QUIT NOW! Apply at SPD they either are or will soon be hiring. Apply at MSP, they might want you. Apply at ECI or anywhere. Do not remain employed at a place where you are not happy. Move on and BE HAPPY.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Well, first of all...there is something LEOBR, Law Enforcement Officer Bill of Rights. They can not just fire him because of that.

Secondly, Joe is 100% right here. It is much better to have him back at work and have him earning his money. This guy made a mistake. Everyone makes mistakes. We should be thankful that it didnt cost anyone injury or even worst.

I can speak from a father of a drunk driver victim, my son was struck by a drunk driver in 2001 in Ocean City, and made it with just a broken leg and some bruises. This is a serious matter, but like the one guy said, we pay Mike to do a job and i think he does a great job at it.

    BARRY C

    ReplyDelete
  23. a disiplinary meeting/hearing?
HE DID IT and ADMITTED IT! Mike Lewis said he would fire any of his officers found to be drinking and driving. He needs to take a class from the Police Cheif in Ocean City...she means what she says.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Deputy Chance made a mistake in judgement..pleeeeeze. A mistake is something you didn't realize was wrong. Is it not funny when a cop BREAKS THE LAW it is a little mistake or a small bad judgement, but yet if we did it it was a LARGE EXCESSIVE MISTAKE and we should have known better and we will have time to think about our HUGE mistake behind bars? Joe, if you want to make a difference why don't you get your nose in their dirty laundry.

    ReplyDelete
  25. LEOBR..does this mean they will get away with anything they do?

    ReplyDelete
  26. 3:03 I agree, she didn't wait for any meetings...she was on that like flies on shit. LOL

  27. Technically, Dep. Chance did not leave the scene of the accident if what I heard was true. He left and then came back and then reported it. In the eyes of the law, he was the first to report it so technically, he did not leave the scene. If so, they the only thing he did was negligent driving because the DUI will not hold up. Never had a breath test when this occurred. As far as the law says, he cannot be charged with this. Had breath test but was at least 4 hours afterwards. Could have had some drinks at home. REASONABLE DOUBT...

    ReplyDelete
  28. He didn't come back to the scene. His Wife called it into the Sheriff's Department. Where do you get such information?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Joe,

All I can say is that it came from inside the investigation. I cannot say how deep but it was reported that way. Was told he went home and he and his wife went back to the scene, went home and then called it in.

If this is incorrect, someone within the WCSO is spreading rumors.

    ReplyDelete
  30. You talk about slapping officers in the face, Mike Lewis did that by letting this guy come back to work with all the others that follow the rules and don't break the law. No one ever said Mike Lewis was not a good sheriff but he should stick to his word. But I guess sending Officer Chance to Phoenix for an SRO workshop or whatever was a good idea too? They have no intention of firing him. I can almost understand bringing him back to work and have him earn his money but to send him half way across the country for training is a little much, even if by some chance the board of ed paid for it, that was truly a slap in the face of the other deputies. I myself voted for Mike Lewis because he was a man of integrity, but after the other things I have heard they have done to certain officers (some almost losing their jobs) because they didn't conform to Mike's ideals and the people that he surrounds himself with. I wonder if I placed my vote correctly, I think I did and I hope Mike does the right thing for the rest of his deputies.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Joe,
Where do you get your information?
Mike Lewis? How do you know more than the inside deputies? You don't so why question their integrity?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Let me answer that for you, you ballless chipmunk. The day you put up your name PROVING you're in fact a Deputy is the day I'll listen to what you have to say. Until then, you're the Chief of another Police Department, as far as I'm concerned.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Joe.
i think you may have lost both of your balls. Why would a Deputy put their name up? Please.. stop blaming the Cheif for everything. You need to grow up and just maybe by then you will grow another set of entirely worthless balls.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Joe,
Can you find out who is paying for Mr. Chance to go half way across country for his class? I bet you would dig as hard as you could if Chief Webster sent one of his officers? HUH JOE? You are a two faced reporter..no wonder you own a one sided half ass BLOG!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Joe,
Tell us what your story would be if this was one of lets say Chief Webster's officers okay?

Next tell us your story if let's say this officer works under Mike Lewis okay?

YOU HAVE BEEN TAGGED A LIAR AT BEST!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Now we know why Joe has so much time on his hands, he has no balls so with that being said his wife no longer needs his services. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  37. I am not a Deputy and nor do I care to be one, however I am a taxpayer in Wicomico County and if I am paying for this officer to fly across country for a class...Mike Lewis has lost my vote. How can we find out this information Joe?

    ReplyDelete
  38. cb,
how do you know Joe knows the entire story you moron?

    ReplyDelete
  39. 2:45, of course you must only be talking to the superiors in the department. Lewis hasn't followed through with what he promised. I know numbers of Deputies and trust me, they ARE NOT happy with the politics in that office. It's the same bus with a different driver.

    ReplyDelete
  40. The Salisbury Police Chief is a much better man than Mike Lewis.

  43. OMG..okay let me get this right! If I run over a vehicle on my way home from Brew River and I go home and drink a few more beers and go back the next day I walk because they can't prove I was drinking before I hit the car and I don't get charged for leaving the scene because I repoted the next day that I accidently hit a car and accidently went home and forgot about til in the morning??? Damn you cops are teaching me some shit I would have never thought of. Can you give us some more tips please?

  44. Chance was on his own time taking a vacation. He was NOT half way across the Country at the Taxpayers expense. Man, you guys are like a bunch of pansie assed little girls!

It's amazing. John R is back and back in a BIG way. Why don't you just tell them to their face JR just how much yopu hate Mike Lewis. Don't fall for all of John's Bullshit here guys. He's a master at screwing with people's minds.

My opinion is that Mike Lewis is a bigger piece of shit. My opinion and my right!

As for attacking my Family, that's where I draw the line. The same line I drew with you and you have since respected. And if someone doesn't like me thats fine, I can't make everyone happy. But dont dislike me because I had 10 minutes of FAME on 1320AM. WHOO HOOO like a 1000 people listened to the show thats why it was cancelled.

  54. How do you get your friend back on duty when he's suspended with pay without it looking like favoritism? Here's an idea. Just say he was bragging about getting paid without working. Bingo! It's now perfectly acceptable, indeed it's genius, to let him come back to work. So he's suspended with pay only not suspended. Very, very clever.

Because you're INNOCENT before proven guilty. This is the United States of America, you know.

Joe - Love your site, constant reader. If people are innocent before proven guilty, then we as a country should not be exposing peoples names on here, in the paper, on tv, etc. until they have truly been proven guilty. You always put these police reports with people's names, but honestly how many of those cases are you going to attend to find out if the people you have already exposed are actually guilty now?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Joe, stop giving us girls a bad rap! We have much better sense than these crybaby men who hate your blog (why do you people read it let alone post comments), make crude personal comments about Joe, Mike Lewis and others (a little jealous, maybe) and lastly, do you really believe anyone gives a flying f*ck whay any of you crybabies think anyway. Frankly, I think Joe's blog allows you to say (I mean vent) what you can't in front of your mommies. Hell Joe, you should charge for these therapy sessions. You would make a fortune!!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Ok, Gentleman lets be better people. The issue, Chance made a huge huge mistake, maybe told people about doing fun things while being paid; Lewis made the decision to bring him back while paying him, he can not be fired right away, and that is the law (get over it). OCPD fired their guy instantly because he was on probation (while on probation you can be fired instantly for anything except use of force). Lewis has to wait until Chance’s due process. That time will come and I am sure you will accept Lewis’s decision. Lewis has had to come into a huge mess, clean it up, organize it, motivate it, and retrain it, with all the people that were already running the mess. So imagine this, you have a building crew who keeps building houses that fall down and fail code, so you can’t just fire and demote at will (MD Law) and have them be the top notch. It takes time. Lewis has not pleased everyone, you never will, so many people thought that so much would happen over night. Lewis has had a lot of deputies do stupid stuff, so the training and rebuilding continues until all these problem children are gone. It takes time.

  59. anonymous 5:48,

Contact the Police Department if there's truly any issue with the Press Releases.

Charges were placed against these people, therefore it's a matter of public record.

Sadly, ONE person I posted about today was arrested and out of nowhere the nasty comments and very unusual comments we haven't seen here on this Blog for many months show up. Interesting timing, wouldn't you agree?

Nevertheless, I too have been all over the news for charges against me and quite frankly I have absolutely no problem with that at all.

Maybe the difference is, I'm innocent and others are guilty?

    ReplyDelete
  60. maybe the firemen and policemen need to have inner department group meetings once a week so they can do there what they get to do here. maybe then it would all work out for the better for everyone???

    ReplyDelete
  61. we have now enter our mirrors to the point of growing pains, thats what its all about people, learn and makes things better, everywhere for everyone. (that used to be the american spirit).

  62. And you wonder why we want collective bargaining, so we can get together and tell them waht we want and need and what is going on. We are not allowed now.

    ReplyDelete
  63. For the few of you who don't like Sheriff Lewis get over it, because he will be sheriff in this county for as long as he wants the job. I for one think this man is doing an awesome job and I'm proud to tell everyone he is our sheriff.

    ReplyDelete
  64. 8:26 you must be related to him or counting on his paycheck.

    ReplyDelete
  65. 7;14, maybe the group meetings should be on pac-14, so your job is in less jeoperdy, diplomacy will endure in the end.

  66. If some of you on here are truly deputies i think i know what the problem is. I think we all remember when MJ played for the Chicago Bulls and was the super star of the NBA. Scottie Pipin could not stand Mike getting all the attention and when MJ went to play baseball Scottie could not win a championship without him. Mike comes back and they are winners again. Mike Lewis is at the top of his game and he is a SUPER STAR in this league. Please don't be Scottie Pippin's be more like Steve Kerr, Wil Perdue etc. and enjoy the ride to the top. I know it must be hard following the lead of Mike Lewis it would be for anyone. But he will turn you all into All Stars. Heck you already look like All Stars with the new Black and Whites and the Super Chargers. Mike Lewis is a Super Star at Law Enforcement and he is one in a million. But he will make all of you All Stars if you let him.

    ReplyDelete
  67. i don't know about all the horse shit inside the department and nor do I care. I'd rather have the officer pushing papers and being paid than sitting on his a$$ eatin bon bons while he is being paid. With that being said.. I think there has been tremendous change in the Sheriffs Dept. They are acutally doing what they are supposed to be doing. For a long time they didn't do this or that but I feel that their presence is strong and is 100 times better than before Lewis.

AND what's the obessesion with all the 'balls' talk??? Big balls, little balls, comparing balls.. that my friend is just=== Gay.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Innocent until proven guilty. People are going to bitch about this no matter which way it swings. Paid for not working or put on menial task to at least earn some of the money the taxpayers are providing until judgement day.

As far as some anonymous comments, yawn, grow a hair on your ass. Let's see hmmm real convicted criminals are out of jail working on release everyday. Mike decides he wants him to earn his pay is a bad decision for the taxpayers? I see very vague assumptions or accusations about who knows what, not I, they have a Union, if they have a real problem they can file a grievance if they actually think they have something. Put up or shut up.

If paper work ain't good enough to satisfy you, call Mike, tell him who you are, and that you want to see him cutting the grass and cleaning the shitters. Good grief.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Come on Joe,
If Chance was from SPD you would have crucified him with your words because he was under Chief Webster. Mike Lewis or Al Webster...both are men in charge of the two departments that must protect the Salisbury streets. Both of these men will make great decisions and make horrible mistakes that will be attributed to their leadership abilities. Chance is a seasoned officer who broke the law, tried to hide it, and got called in by his own wife. Just two or three days ago you said that a relatively new officer in SPD should be FIRED because he made MISTAKES and was sent to training. Let me remind you that these mistakes did not get anyone hurt or cost thousands of dollars in property damage. I don't know whether Chance should be fired but it is not fair to blast someone solely because of the department they work for or the people they work under. WHAT MAKES A GREAT AND ACCURATE NEWS PROVIDER IS ONE WHO DOES IT WITHOUT PREJUDICE OR BIASS.

    ReplyDelete
  70. 1:04-- Just for your info, Chance is anything but seasoned. He's only been there 7 years and has no time on the streets. He's been taken care of his short career there.

    ReplyDelete
  71. However to show a little County employee knowledge as I am one, Lewis could have suspended WITHOUT pay which would have curtailed the fun in the sun problem. This admition of guilt by the deputy would have warranted this in any dept. As for your John Robinson Problem Joe, I know him and his wife Tracy very well, and if you wife calls you out as a pathalogical liar in front of guests...well then you might be a liar!!!!!! John only stays with her because her family bought their first house for them and without her dad John would not have anything...I can give you tons of info in his being a worthless piece of @#%!. He has also "accidentally" discharged a firearm before at someone elses expense only it was a shotgun....I sure hope the state brings them as a witness that would make him shit his pants....Jons comments about jason are just being done out of spite anyway. Everyone close to his family knows he went to college and tryed (unsucessfully THANK GOD} to join SPD...Imagine if he had made it....He never passed the pysch test and that is FACT John so do not even argue the point...

    ReplyDelete
  72. Joe... face it, you're a fag. And I'm going to blast proof of you finding your wife on an internet dating site all over this fucking shit hole blog very soon!

    ReplyDelete
  73. There would not be a blog if you did not have anonymus comments. Honestly this is all good stuff I say Joe for Sheriff.

    ReplyDelete

Who cares where Joe got his wife it is nobodys business. If he bought her from Russia or she bought him from Delmar the fact is they are together big freaking deal if it was a internet meeting...At least Joes father inlaw did not have to buy him to marry his daughter.....
