While I love animals, while I enjoy the idea that these are out publicly to relieve the taxpayers of the financial burden of such a Dog Park, I'd love to also see something in the GOB for the Skate Board Park as well. How about you?
I would love to have a dog park in Salisbury. I feel however if they do build one they have the same guidleines as the new park in OC. That way hopefully there will be lower chances of dog fights. I loved the park we had when I lived in Gsbo, NC, but it seemed that whenever I would take my dog there would be an altercation of some sort. It was free to all public and some dogs just did not agree to get along. As far as the skate park is concerned I think thats a good idea also. It doesn't mean however that the kids on skatebords still won't be skating in parking lots and sidewalks. That has been proven in OC. They still get away with it even though its supposedly illegal to skate in the city. HA
Seems to me that if a small town like Pocomoke, with their crooked government, can do something about a skate park, then why can't Salisbury with their crooked government???
By all means, I'm going to be donating for the skate park, a good friend is on that committee. I have two black lab rescues, I'm doing all I can for my four legged friends. Since the river is no longer fit to take the dogs I guess I'll fork up some dough for the dog park also.
The problem with the dog park is the proposed location, next to the Kiwanis Pavilion behind the Civic Center -- much too small, and it will ruin the ambiance of a nice part of the City Park. Put it at another place, such as the Winter Place facility.
Choices, choices. I vote for the skate park, even though I am tired of pickingup oter peoples dog poo onmy property, especially the sidewalk. Too many people don't carry a bag or something with them when they walk their animals and there's an ordinace requiring that youpick up what your dog does. Who, by the way will pick up at the "Dog Park"?
I remember the old skateboard park well. We used to go watch for our entertainment. I was told the reason it was taken down is that they were afraid of being sued if someone got hurt! Guess they are not afraid anymore, hum?
I'll bet you can't get that, "Who Let The Dogs Out" song out of your mind! ROTFLMAO!
ReplyDeleteSkate Board park is the ticket !!!

Can' we just dig up the old skate park that a prev. gov deciced to fill in 20 some yrs ago?
ReplyDeleteThe old skate park has been buried so long it would probably cost more to dig it up and renovate than to just start off with all new.
ReplyDeleteA dog park is a good idea in theory, but how do you know if dogs are up to date on shots, wormings, etc.

ReplyDeleteJust who is this SALISBURY DOG PARK COMMITTEE?? Does anyone know
ReplyDeleteThe biggest reason the old skate park was buried was just as much about it being unsupervised and attracted the use of drugs and alcohol.
