The Tilghman Administration Says, SHRED IT!
Today at the old Station 16, your paid Firefighters were at the building with several Fire Trucks, an Ambulance and several Chase Vehicles. It truly seemed as if these guys, (I'm not trying to say anything negative towards the Firefighters) were in some kind of hurry, like this stuff had to be out of there TODAY!
I have asked as well as several other News Sources if anything is in the works for this building and the reply is, NOTHING!
Now, getting to the SHRED IT Company. Who was overseeing that none of those documents had any historical value to them? From what "I" witnessed, there was one Shred It Employee on the back of that truck loading box after box of documents and shredding all of them.
Will we see this when the Mayor gets booted out of her Office too? Once again, your tax dollars hard at work!
Looks like an office chair or two in the dumpster, What the hell , might as well buy new.Tax payers will cover it!!
ReplyDeletetypical City of Salisbury - assuming that shredding is appropriate - they hired a Baltimore company rather than a LOCAL company like Delmarva Recycling.
ReplyDeleteAnd a table...Joe, what else reusable could be seen in that dumpster?
ReplyDeleteI could use some of that stuff. Because of the tax and water/sewer hikes, I can't afford anything new.
Is the State of Maryland aware of the documents being destroyed? Did the City clear it with them ahead of time? Someone should be asking the State what's going on. These are City documents housed in that Station, along with I'm sure documents belonging to others.
ReplyDeleteNot only are we probably losing some old and valuable documents, but we're paying a nice fee to the shredder people to boot.
ReplyDeleteIT never stops here in Salisbury.
Did I see Webb Hubbell in that crowd?
ReplyDeleteGood way to get rid of evidence.
ReplyDeleteProbably old medical records that have been in the basement forever.
ReplyDeleteI thought David Cox was on suspension. Looks like him in the background of one of your photos.
Once when working with records not in the city we used Shred It and they only take and destroy documents that are given to them. I honestly have doubts about the contents because I don't trust the city government a great deal. The State of Maryland has clear guide lines as does the federal government about the lenth of time things need to be kept. As far as the dumpster goes I was told not to get the lumber I saw in it. Thankfully I was told and not arrested for dumpster diving.
ReplyDeleteYou would have been pissed if the City hired a crew to come in and clean out the building right? So I for one think it was a great idea to use our own city people to do the work and save us a few bucks. The things that were thrown out were in bad shape and non useable. I have seen these first hand and would not want them in my garage let alone my house.
ReplyDeleteBut hey this site is about about bashing the city so have at it. Good forbid they do something to save a few bucks and you say good job.
You all just complain about everything. We all can't be perfect like others I know. Aint the right Joe!
anonymous 4:22, or should I say, Chief See?
ReplyDeleteYou see, he likes to call me perfect.
Nevertheless, this isn't about bashing, it's about accountability.
Secondly, at the cost of what, 12 to 15 people there today Chief, what would that be at probably $20.00 per person, per hour? That's $250.00 per hour. I DOUBT it would have cost anywhere near that toio hire a company on the outside and leave your Staff doing what they were hired to do.
Can we do anything that makes you happy? After those people that you hate so much are gone, who will you complain and bitch about then? If you can do better then go apply, till then "SHUT THE HELL UP"!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe first item that catches my eye in the photo are the green sheets of plywood in the lower right corner. They were $90 a sheet a few year ago and were custom ordered by Gordo.
ReplyDeleteThey were obtained to block out his worthless offsprings behind as he laid in bed all day at Station 16. He would be half clothed and sleep till 12 or 1 pm. The secretary got tired of seeing him and complained. Well Gordo wouldn't make him abide by the rule of up and adam by 0830 so he purchased these boards. They could have been painted, but NO ! In typical fashion the taxpayers footed an absorbanant bill for plywood at $ 90 a sheet.
Well today we see the ultimate fate of this high priced wood. Cast to the curb and wasted from beginning to end.
yes joe, however they may have had nothing else much to do so why not utilize them to do another job. Since Salisbury tax payers are paying for it. It is always easy to bash but never easy to give credit. Fire and ems is a thankless job that always catch chit. Get off everyones back and dig else where one day you may need your life saved or your home and whom will you call on I hope not the ones you are so quick to bash... think on this please...
ReplyDeleteChief See should be spending more quality time with his son.
ReplyDeleteNICE PICTURES, GOOD DAY FOR THEM TO BE OUT OF THE A/C. IS THAT A DAVID COX SIGNED SOLDIER OF FORTUNE MAGAZINE IN THE DUMPSTER? WHOOPS NO !WHAT I LIKE IS THE TAXPAYERS BOUGHT IT. AND THEN PAID FOR IT TO BE THROWN AWAY BY THE FIREMEN, THEN AGAIN TAXPAYERS PAID THE DUMPSTER TIPPING FEE AGAIN. OH HELL JUST TOSS THE CRAP IN THE RIVER WITH THE REST OF THE TURDS TAXPAYERS PAID TO BE TOOK CARE OF CORRECTLY AND WERE NOT.
ReplyDeleteI sincerely hope that those nasty comments were not made by firefighters. Of course anonymous could be anybody, but the one that threatened was very disappointing.
ReplyDeleteIf you think Joe's wrong then what makes you right? You people need to recognize that the leaders of this town, for the most part, are only concerned with themselves, and whats in it for them. Except for the volunteer firefighters (maybe) NO ONE else works this hard for free. And, not even the volunteer firefighters are more influential than Albero...I'll bet thats why you're so nasty.
Compared to See, Joe, you are perfect.
ReplyDeleteLook, as far as I'm concerned, these guys weren't hired to kiss See & Gordy's rear end and move furniture. Now I'm not at all stating any one of them refused to participate but we ALL know how this Administration works. The funniest part is, See & Gordy actually think these huys like them, because they listen and follow orders. However, just look at what they say anonymously behind their backs, including the Watch Desk!
ReplyDeleteOh, as far as threats. That's all they are is words. Words made by a pussy who isn't man enouugh to say his name.
Signed,
The Perfect One.
Yea Joe by the looks on their faces in your photos makes me think they were made to do it and not happy about it. They all have smiles on their faces to me.
ReplyDeleteThought you would say something about them making a black man work hard for a day :(
Only the left over meaningless documents are being destroyed.
ReplyDeleteThey were laughing and joking about Cropper falling off the tread mill. That's a fact. Grow up.
ReplyDeleteThere's the one and only LORENZO!
ReplyDeleteIf there had been a call hope these guys weren't too exhausted from the new job requirements and from the heat.
I for one hope there was nothing historical in those documents. Think of some of those calls that were called out of that building. What does happen to them. For example the Benjamins/Plaza fire or the Civic Center fire. I'm sure there are documents somewhere about those fires those days.
For me the building holds fond memories. Remember when the Christmas parade went right by the station. As little kids we thought it was a big deal to sit there at the station. Or when we'd go as a school trip to take a tour of the station. That was back when it was Chief TAYLOR. Wonder what happened to some of his documents.
Joe, you should change the name of your blog to the Salisbury Sleaze. I moved here about a year ago and I've never seen one person so full of himself as you. I like Salisbury and I am raising my children here. They love the zoo.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to see a real cesspool, you should visit my hometown of Altoona, PA. Now there's a town that could your crappy blog. It's drug problem is so bad that it has been written up in every major newspaper and magazine in the country.
To : 7:16pm
ReplyDeleteYou jumped from the frying pan into the fire!
Shred It's only responsibility is to destroy the documents and give a receipt. They make no judgement about what should or shouldn't be shredded. I bet it's the chief's job to "see" that documents are properly handled. *snicker*

ReplyDeleteAltoona might be a sh*thole but at least no one denies it.People running Salisbury will still be saying theres no gangs and no probs as they are fleeing the city.

ReplyDeleteI think you should continue in your quest for Shangri-La, and stop spending time reading this disgusting blog. There are so many better ways to get your news...the other ways might not offend you so much. As for your opinion of this site, the rest of us appreciate the honesty and openness found here. Hang around the 'bury awhile, friend, and you'll see that the only truth in this town is at sbynews.
Mr/Ms 7:16
ReplyDeleteFrankly, my dear, I'd rather be in Philadelphia.

Yep, that's the bald headed troll David See. Must be nice to be a department head and read Joe Albero's Blog all day long. I would like to check his city computer to see what sites he has been on.
And we all thought David Cox was a bad person.

ReplyDeleteWhat you say about Gordy's son is wrong. He is a decent person who loves the fire department. The Gordy's entire family have given away more money and time than most people will ever have in Salisbury. Putting down a man's son who has done nothing wrong is cowardly.
anon 11:49 - You're out of touch and obviously clueless!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to know exactly what the Historical Society(?) has to say about any actions regarding this building?
ReplyDelete;>)
Why hire a shredding company? Aren't they the FIRE dept.?
ReplyDeleteThey of all people oughtta burn the stuff they're shredding.
Joe were you in a maroon pickup with a cab? I think maybe I saw you.
ReplyDelete11:49 I DONT THINK YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT THE SAME BILL GORDYS SON AS WE ARE. BECAUSE IF YOU WERE YOU WOULD NO HE IS A SPOILED BRAT THAT CARES ABOUT NOTHING BUT HIMSELF.
ReplyDeleteJoe,
ReplyDeleteIf you don't like Bill Gordy...fine!! Leave his family alone. You have no right attack family members as you seem to do often on this blog. WHAT ABOUT YOUR WORTHLESS DAUGHTER??? FAIR IS FAIR...Responsibility starts at home RIGHT??
