THIS JUST IN!!!

I've just been contact by Joe who advised me of the following:

Sunday, Deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office observed a Crown Victoria that resembled an unmarked police cruiser travelling at a rate of speed that appeared to be higher than the posted speed limit. Upon stopping the vehicle the deputy identified the driver as David Wayne Cox. Mr. Cox allegedly produced a badge and identified himself as a Dorchester County Sheriff's Deputy. Further investigation revealed that Mr. Cox was in fact NOT a Deputy Sheriff and was allegedly impersonating a police office - complete with handcuffs. Further investigation also revealed that Mr. Cox is a Salisbury City Firefighter currently assigned to Sation 16. According to Joe, the Sheriffs Office obtained an arrest warrant and promptly responded to Station 16 at which time they took Mr. Cox into custody. Also, located in the vehicle were loaded magazines to a .45 handgun.

Remember, these are the facts as they were relayed to me. The suspect should be considered innocent until proven guilty!

  2. Sounds like somebody isn't gonna be a firefighter anymore. I hope this is not true!! I don't know him but that sucks if we can't even trust the people who save lives anymore.

  6. If these alleged facts are true: He even went to the bitter end trying to con a deputy sheriff. I don't want to think about what could have happened here(and property crimes aren't what I have in mind.)

They let him pass the sit up part of the so called testing process when the failed a female for because she couldn't do the required situps? Don't tell me this didn't really happen? This female was an ALS provider and in Paramedic school at the time? Not only was she a better candidate for the job she was a volunteer at station 2 for the city. See how these morons, Fatso, Gordo and David See treats the vollies, the people that do the job for free. Someone needs to sue their fat asses.

  22. This is not the first time one of our local firefighters has been charged with a crime. The problem is that things like this put a cloud of wonder over all of the men and women that protect us on a daily basis. This does not end in the fire service it happens in the law enforcement community as well. As an Ex Firefighter in this area I have to say everyone is quick to cast stones. Being in the fire service is not always glorious it takes a toll on family friends etc. Just keep in mind this could happen anywhere when given the chance. If his supervisors really knew him the way they should this would not have gone this far.

  25. anon 10:20,

Your absolutely right. A loaded magazine in a vehicle is not a crime - in most cases. But I think it is a small part of the bigger picture you're failing to see. I would venture to say that if all of this is true, the loaded magazine will be presented as evidence at trial since a loaded magazine is a part of a patrolmans uniform - just like the handcuffs, badge, etc. See the picture starting to develop?

Incidentally, one live round rolling around on someones floorboard could potentially be a crime.

  26. I've seen Jeremy Gordy several times so drunk in public that he couldn't keep his eyes focused. He is anti-law enforcement and imho is an a**hole. He has absolutely no respect for anyone other than himself. I've seen him operate a boat so intoxicated it was difficult to imagine that he didn't wreck. He is a spoiled brat who needs a major a** whippin'.

So I should take the magazines and bullets out of my truck that have been in there since hunting season?

No where does it say you have to respect law enforcement. Where does being anti law enforcement make him a bad person. I dont trust the government and have been drunk in public many times. That must make me a bad person to.

  29. Well it might be a good idea to take your magazines and bullets out of your vehicle - if your vehicle looks like an unmarked car, and you have handcuffs in your car, and you have a badge in your car, and you are impersonating a police officer.....just a suggestion. You make up your own mind.
