SALISBURY NEWS BREAKS NEW DAILY RECORD!

Ladies & Gentlemen, today's numbers have already surpassed any record day we have ever had in the history of this Site. So as I don't get ragged on too much by other Bloggers, I'll just say that I would expect our numbers to actually be DOUBLE what our normal average day has been in the past. Thanks for the support Folks! The Daily Times would be so proud if THEY could only reach such numbers in one day. ROTFLMAO! This is too cool!

  1. People like news that is accurate, first, and for which they don't have to pay. When I eat crabs, I buy the Times. It's really the only thing it is good for.

  4. It doesn't surprise me.

Salisbury/Wicomico will never be the same when the residents figure out they've been dooped by the Main Stream Media.

And now that you've exposed most of the shennagins, you've gained credibility, accountability, and trust by the community.

I'm sure glad that I'm not employed by The Daily Times.

  5. As your site evolves, it's not really comparable to any other "news" website in the area. You seem to be on the road, always updating, which the other sites aren't doing (ie TV).

Also, you inject your own opinion, which the other news orgs won't do; it's not how they operate. I think you ought to make that clear to those who still don't get it - you're offering news and commentary wrapped in the same story. You'll never see a Daily Times headline with "LMAO" or 20 exclamation points after a statement, or a WMDT anchor telling the camera what a dummy the mayor is.

At the end of the day, you're just one guy with a website. I can't say it's not newsy, but it's not Journalism either - which is the profession the DT, WBOC and WMDT folks all consider themselves to be in.

Your numbers may be higher, but I don't see it as an apples-to-apples comparison any longer. They're still MSM, but you're not and thats a good thing. Yours is a niche Internet enterprise, and I hope you keep it that way.

    Just my opinion.

  6. I agree with "concerned citizen". I think that you arent the same as the mainstream media. And it would be nice to let your readers know that. The main thing is that in the same paragraph, you are stating that you are the "goto news source" and "opinionated".

This is a similar issue that radio programs like the Howard Stern show and Rush Limbaugh. They have content in the form of news, but have a lot of opinion that often clouds the truth.

The problem is that many people go to those sources (and yours) and look at them as 100% true. When they are riddled with opinion and speculation and, in many instances, not well researched. So, this can bring mis-information.

  7. To the comments above me....

"The problem is that many people go to those sources (and yours) and look at them as 100% true."

"Salisbury's most reliable and unbiased source for your local news? Either you love us or you hate us! This Blog is opinionated only."

that is the first line of the blog...(note the question mark) its not like its on the bottom of every page in smallest print possible. People need to make their own decisions...

and yes I believe it to be an excellent source of our local news, but I still make my own mind up...
