Joe,
How do you spell HYPOCRITE?
I received, in today’s mail, the annual WATER QUALITY REPORT from Her Honor Barrie P Tilghman You might say, so what! everyone in the city got this piece. Well, I live in Quantico, Maryland, Zip code 21856. I am, at best, six or seven miles from the nearest Salisbury water line. Did she send this report to everyone in the county? If so, why, and at what cost.
Now to the hypocrite part;
I quote from the mayor’s letter….
Bottled Waters Environmental Toll
"It took the equivalent of 17 million barrels of oil to create the 900,000 tons of plastic used to bottle water in the United States last year. That’s enough to fuel over 1 million cars for a year. The manufacturing of plastic created 2.5 million tons of carbon dioxide released into our environment. Almost 90% of those plastic bottles ended up being thrown into the trash instead of recycling. A bottle of water that takes just three minutes to drink can take up to a thousand years to biodegrade. What can we do to stop all of this waste? The answer is simple, choose tap water.“
She goes on to say that, “Our water is consistently monitored to ensure that the quality is maintained and that the City’s drinking water is excellent and reliable.”
I would imagine the only time tap water crosses her lips, is when it has a sufficient amount of alcohol in it.
You don't even want to get me started on the water quality of the river.
Hypocrisy at it’s best!

JOE, IF THE CITY WATER IS SO DAMN GOOD, HOW COME THE EMPLOYEES DRINK BOTTLED WATER AT THE CITY OFFICE BLDG? THANKS SJD
ReplyDeleteIf the quality of water is so good in the city why are they drinking bottled water at the GOB? Did LoRAISE Chambers write that letter for Barrie? Is spewing outright lies what she is paid to do? FIRE HER NOW.
ReplyDeleteBetter watch it dude, 6 or 7 miles of pipeline ain't nuttin for Barrie to lay. She needs more tax dollars to give away to her buddies.
Farm Boy, PLEASE post the letter in its entirety.
This quality report has been delivered to us the past 2 years. NEVER before. I'd like to know how much they cost.
ReplyDeleteSurely, the expense is UNNECESSARY!
(just like the plastic rubber and aluminum water meter covers that replace R. D. Grier STEEL covers that have been here for more than 75 years.) Who gets to cash in on all the metal collected and resold from that cluster fu*k? Isn't that a crime? (as far as I'm concerned, my meter cover was STOLEN!)
If Salisbury's Water Works Dept management is any thing like that of the Waste Water Treatment Dept, then your in trouble. As you have seen , the Mayor works very hard covering up flaws in the system, so you really don't know what your drinking!!!
ReplyDeleteShould have went back to deposit bottles a long time ago, it's not too late either. Deposit bottles would save a lot of roadside garbage pickup as well.
ReplyDeleteAs far as this mare goes, I would expect no less. The guilded leader of the slumlord pack.
Talk about hypocrisy, after Richard Insley spent so much time and money getting who he wanted voted for in the last election, now he wants to whine about water hikes? You got what you paid for stupid.
He's either lost his mind or providing and opening for the next Trojan Horse, AKA another Weasel.
The next weasel is a highly regarded person in the business community. Beware of suits and ties promising rainbows.
