Even The City Of Salisbury Is Bowing Out Of The Daily Times

Found in this weeks GUIDE, the City of Salisbury is advertising for a position at the WWTP. Now, could it be they don't want the current person in that position knowing about it? Is it legal for them to advertise in a non Newspaper? They could have advertised in the Daily Times and not received any replies? Nevertheless, the City is now spreading their money outside of the Daily Times and looking at other means to reach people, perhaps clueless and mainly in Delaware. What the City doesn't realize is that the Guide is mainly distributed in Delaware and not Wicomico County. It should also be noted that the position they're looking to fill requires a Maryland Driver's Licence.

Dear Mr. Pick: If you want some real results, advertise with Salisbury News. We get more hits than any one of them.

  4. Pizzagalli is the contractor.

The Guide is distributed throughout Wicomico County although most of the ads are for DE. Is that Bill Shireys ad I see for shireysauto.com.?

  5. Why do you promote the idea of another salisbury business going
down hill. Could it be that you don't like the competition? Maybe you could help them get organized.

  6. Mr. 3:53 p.m., it's because the Daily Times doesn't WANT someone to help them. They treat customers like dirt when they have a problem, they don't take constructive criticism though they fake that they do. They are arrogant from news to advertising to circulation. Not much any one can do to organize "arrogance."

  9. What? The city pays a director of public works that can not even run this facility and they expect to hire someone who can for a lot less? Good Luck. what a bunch of morons

  10. Look again people..thats a water plant job, not waste water...either way these people work 24/7 to make pennies.
They got no cost of living raise this year and only a 2% yearly raise which they get in January (so it's really only a 6 month raise)...is this even legal? Their pension went up 1% in July and insurance costs went up too. So these poor people only got a slap in the face and a cut in pay! I would love to see the city council or Mayor Bitch to try to live on their wages!

Jim Caldwell...back your employees, how do you expect to keep anyone when they get no raises and are treated like dogs? It's time someone in this city stands up for the hard working public works employees. This is the most dysfunctional city I've ever seen in my life and no one even cares!

  11. You can thank the no raises to the mayor and the majority of the council for wasting money. Giving taxpayer money away to developers who should be paying an impact fee here in Salisbury instead of developing with subsidies that come from tax dollars that I for one would rather see city employees, police and firemen get.
