I don't know how many times I have alerted your organizations to what is going on down here in Salisbury, Maryland.
This waste water treatment plant has dumped, yet again, into the Wicomico River. They are repeat offenders and have dumped so many times with so many official reports to the authorities and. . . . still. . . there is no accountability.
The only way we are going to get a handle on this polluter is to launch a Coup d' etat and insert our own conscripted citizenry to run this facility until the Army Corps of Engineers can be brought in.
I know of at least 5 times over the past two years that they have contaminated the Wicomico River. Now the River is closed yet again.
Let me know if you want to assemble to start conscription of troops. We also need to send emissaries to the White House and let them know what we are up to. Moreover, maybe they will deploy the National Guard as we seek their aid in an attempt to try and thwart the irresponsible regime.
I know of no other alternatives. . . .I've tried diligently to alert all of the authorities. . .and still the dumping of raw sewage continues.
I'll officially insert both you and Allan Girard as official military commanders - (Officers) - until a federal occupation force can be permanently installed.
Let me know your thoughts.
Here is the link to the latest fiasco.

Drastic situations require drastic measures.
ReplyDeleteWatch Barrie and company run for the hills. She has no one to blame but herself after all, she did take FULL RESPONSIBILITY, many times over.
They have more dependable sewer in Bagdad!

Two dumps in three days, I guess that isn't bad, if I don't get a dump every day I get grouchy LOL All kidding aside, this is a serious issue, you mean to tell me engineers don't know how to avoid these problems while changing pipes and connections? BULLSHIT!
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame, I use to water ski every weekend in the river. I would not be caught dead in that water, nor would I eat anything fro that water.
ReplyDeleteHow can this be allowed, why is nothing being done?
the wico-mico indians would probably block the river, stop the commerce and youll get national attention. dressing like indians while doing it will get it faster.
ReplyDeleteIt is time to call in the Federal troops to get this WWTP on line properly and stop these rediculous spills. And the mayor should be jailed for her part in all this. I thought Mr. Caldwell knew how to insure this would not happen. Hell, lock him up too and let the people run the damn plant!!

I too grew up fishing and water skiing on the Wicomico River. Now the river seems to be Salisbury's cess pool and is once again closed for use. The EPA is obviously not able to force the problem to be fixed by fines. Also, it's not fair that tax payers pay excessive fines for the Mayor and other idiots running Salisbury. I know some local attorneys have sued the City before-can a lawsuit be brought agianst the Mayor and City forcing them to fix the WWTP? What other alternatives do we have? Hopefully the river is still salvageable.
ReplyDeleteto all
ReplyDeleteI also grew-up swimming and skiing in that river around 60's thru 70's and if you had to put your feet on the botton it was like a sludge pit then.If you were around then you knew it to .At that time it was blamed on J I Wells company and Tilghman Fertilizer company.MDE has a record of all SSO's in the state of Maryland and the there are a lot worse than the Salisbury WWTP.check it out.The WWTP will get better but the River has always been the way it is.
Anon 542, I beg to differ with you, the river has NOT always been this way. The bottom may have been slushy that doesn't make it polluted to the point nothing lives in it. I can go back farther than the 60's and 70's when we fished, crabbed and swam that river and had no fear of what came out of it.
ReplyDeleteThey tried blaming it on everyone right down to Frank Perdue and every farmer in the county. The truth of the matter is, as Joe exposed years ago, the WWTP has been dumping illegally into the river for longer than most of us realize. If that woman is going to take responsibility, as she states, she should do so by giving up her seat. Does she know the meaning of responsibility?
The WTP is the external view of how our Mayor handles everything.
ReplyDeletePollution of the river is just anothr example of her lack of caring about the people of the city. Her lack of administrative skills, her lack of understanding, her lack of plain ole common sense.
If I were a resident of the river front, or a developer. she would be sued for deriliction of duty, or is that misfeasance?
The river stinks....amd so does the.......
