Harris Praises Supreme Court For Protecting The 2nd Amendment
"Harris Praises Supreme Court for Reaffirming the 2nd Amendment"
Andy Harris announces his "Prescription for Protecting Our 2nd Amendment Rights"
Annapolis - Today, State Senator Andy Harris M.D. praised the Supreme Court's landmark ruling reaffirming our Second Amendment rights. For the first time United States history, the Supreme Court ruled that individual Americans have the right to own firearms for personal use. The ruling struck down the District of Columbia's ban on handguns.
As a naval officer with expert pistol qualification who believes in the historical basis and the value of the 2nd Amendment, Andy supports the right of all law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms. As a State Senator, Andy routinely receives "A+" ratings from the NRA for his support of Second Amendment rights. Andy is a lifetime member of the NRA.
"Today's ruling is a victory for individual rights and personal liberty." said Senator Harris. "Gun-grabbing liberals should take note that the Constitution clearly states Americans have the right to own firearms and the Supreme Court reaffirmed that today"
Andy took the occasion of the court's ruling today to announce his "Prescription for Protecting Our Second Amendment Rights." The plan has four parts:
1. The right to keep and bear arms is an individual right that cannot be taken away from a law-abiding citizen. Therefore, the federal government does not have the authority to keep records of who does and who does not possess firearms.
2. National right-to-carry laws with reciprocity should be enacted.
3. The right to self-defense means that every American should be permitted to take any means necessary to protect their home, their possessions, and their loved ones from loss or harm - without fear of government or personal legal action when self-defense is used. Laws confirming that right of self-defense should be enacted.
4. Public lands should be made available to citizens for legal hunting.
god bless the militia
ReplyDeleteThank goodness the residents of D.C. will have guns for hunting. There is so much available woodland there, the sport is sure to catch on. Glad Andy is supporting the NRA and everyone's right to own semi-automatics. Not that the NRA is a big-money lobby or anything--it's all about the militia part of the 2nd Amendment.
ReplyDeleteI was listening to this story on the news whle I was loading my semi-automatic.
ReplyDeleteLets see those bastards try to take my gun.
As long as I only use my uzi for squirrel hunting, the libs will lay off me, right?
If you lke your guns vote for Andy. If you trust your goverment vote for Frank.
ReplyDeleteGreat news for our Country! Now they need to focus their energy on Tougher Gun Crime laws. The punishment has to far exceed the crime to truly deter crime. Something along the lines of.....
ReplyDelete1) Commit a felony with a gun, minimum sentence of 30 years.
2) Discharge the firearm during the commision of a felony, life without parole.
This would eventually have criminals committing crime with bats and sticks, and the victims would have the guns!
GOD BLESS AMERICA
ReplyDeletenobody wants to touch this one huh, ha,ha
ReplyDeletePoints #1 and #2,excellent.Point #3,too many gray areas, though trial lawyers will love it.Point #4,no way should every square foot of public land be open to hunting any more than those lands should all be open to 4wd vehicles.
ReplyDeleteI'll "touch this one", cruggly. I'm a pro-Obama, pro-Kratovil democrat, and I say GOOD JOB, SUPREME COURT. The second amendment guarantees my right to own a firearm, and that's just how it should be. Anyone who considers themselves to be a true patriot should be happy with the court's decision. It's not like they're giving criminals carte blanche to go buy up all the handguns they can get. Hell, they already have handguns. Illegal guns. This is just guaranteeing Joe Homeowner the right to defend himself, plain and simple. They didn't pass an unregulated carry law. They didn't pass a moratorium on background checks and waiting periods. They upheld the right of the American citizen to own a handgun, plain and simple.
ReplyDeleteanon 10:07, you must of got me way wrong, i may have some liberal views on domestic situations, but never mistake the fact that when shit hits the fan, ill be standin tall with the malitia, im a soldier alright. if that ever happens what the hell good would i be with-out my guns,... i love this decission, "call me a remocratial" call me what you will, ill fight to save her...
ReplyDeleteSorry, cruggly- I misunderstood your comment. Either way, I'm right there with you. If shit gets bad, I want to know that my family will be protected. My Baretta will be right there on my hip when I need it.
ReplyDeleteSo what's he got to say about that Court's recent ruling that a death sentence can't be imposed for raping a minor child???
ReplyDeleteIf every pervert out there raping men, women and children were put to death, we'd have no repeat offenders.
ReplyDeleteanon 7:54
ReplyDeleteAMEN!! Stop tip-toeing around these sick and twisted individuals and make them pay. It's too lenient and they have no REAL consequences.
countrygirl@heart
Child rape decision was a good one.If the death sentence was given for the raping of a child the rapist would surely murder the child. Thus no witness and he would surely never face prison time.
ReplyDeleteonce convicted by a jury of your peers, shot them in the head.
ReplyDeleteI remember a piece that G.A. wrote I think, the main reason the Japanese didn't launch an invasion was do to the fact that so many Americans own firearms. Rock on second Amendment!
