DJ Gannett Papers Cutting 55 Positions In New Jersey -Report

Gannett Co. (GCI) is eliminating 55 positions at four of its six New Jersey newspapers because of adverse business conditions, a Gannett Web site, mycentraljersey.com, reported Thursday.

The positions are at the Asbury Park Press, the Home News Tribune in East Brunswick, the Courier News in Bridgewater and the Daily Record in Parsippany, the site said.
Earlier this month, Gannett also offered buyouts to 166 full-time employees over age 55 at several of its New Jersey papers, the site said.
